Picked up my daughter from the airport and we decided to grab a bite to eat before heading back to our town. We found This is a little "hole in the wall" place by searching for something nearby. I am so impressed. The food was AMAZING, fresh and plentiful. Our server Jen B, was really attentive and friendly and equally as amazing as our food. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing , dim with a nice bar too. Their drinks are tasty too. This is our new spot. Will be coming back for my birthday.

Visiting with the family from the San Francisco Bay Area and this is the first stop in Eugene…read more Fairly standard fish market/restaurant look. Employees were working hard preparing the fish and food. The menu is actually pretty extensive, and it was starting to get busy as we arrived right before lunch. We all decided to get the fish tacos and clam chowder. The chowder was thick and satisfying, though not the best I've ever had. The halibut tacos were great though, had a nice garlicy sauce on it and some fresh slaw/veg. I liked the bar that had dispensers for different sauces, this is a great idea. The employees were pleasant and helpful. I would come back to try something different. The halibut fish & chips sounded good too.

Hey, Guy Fieri was here, and so of course I had to stop in when I was passing through town. It's a nice space. Nice and simple. You order at the counter, and then they call your number. They have a very large menu, including quite a few few different type of fish that you can have for fish and chips. They also have a good amount of items that you can buy to take with you in their case. Ordering was a little bit confusing. There are two order windows. I stood at one for a couple of minutes, nobody acknowledged me, nobody said anything. That's when I looked over and noticed that they were doing the ordering from the other window. It would've been nice for somebody to do at least say, "hey, they are taking orders from the other window." I went over to the window and I ordered. I ordered a cup of the fisherman's seafood stew, and I also ordered the crawfish. (I call it crawdad.) pot pie that Guy had on the show. I also ordered a half a pound of the sweet and spicy halibut jerky The jerky was amazing. A little bit sweet, a little bit spicy, and it's not hard and extremely chewy like a lot of jerky can be. It's kind of like about halfway between hard and tender. The flavor itself was very good. I will have to be careful so it lasts a while I' also loved the fisherman's stew. It's a tomato based broth, and they were very generous with the seafood. It was a little bit rich, a little bit spicy, and the seafood was very, very tender. Unfortunately, the pot pie was a little bit of a letdown. The gravy was savory, a little bit rich, and very flavorful with also just a little bit of spice. The crawfish were savory and just a little bit sweet. It was nice being able to have crawfish already shelled. It also came with a sour cream which added to the flavor. The problem was, the top crust was a bit over browned on the top. The bottom of the top crust, as well as the bottom crust, it's like it wasn't done all the way. It was a little bit gummy. That took away from the pot pie, just a little bit. Overall, a very successful meal. The jerky is absolutely on the high-end price wise, but the soup and the pot pie were very reasonably priced. I would love to come back and try some of the different variations of the fish and chips. Overall, it was a good meal. Thank you. UPDATE... I was passing through town again, so I decided to stop again for lunch. This time, five stars all the way A 100% excellent lunch. I decided to go for the fish and chips this time, for my fish, I chose wahoo. In Hawaii, wahoo is called "ono", which also means "delicious." spoiler alert, it was... I was served very quickly. My number was 176, and when I sat down, they were only at number 162. I still had my food in a little over five minutes. The chips were very good, with a light crisp on the outside, and soft and tender in the middle. The fish was amazing! Very lightly battered, with a fantastic crunch. The fish was firm, with just a little bit of flakiness to it. The perfect texture. It had a mild flavor, and was just a little bit sweet. An absolutely excellent fish. I tried 4 of the sauces from their sauce bar.(they had even more on the other side that I didn't see until after I had my lunch.). The only one I didn't care for, was the "Tijuana terror." It tasted very good, but it was just a little bit too spicy for me. The tartar sauce was excellent, the cocktail sauce, I could definitely taste the horseradish, but it wasn't strong enough to blow out my sinuses. I really enjoyed the "bang bang sauce." I could taste the chilies, but the aïoli that it came in, definitely mellowed out the spiciness. An excellent plate of food and a soda, and I was out the door roughly 15 bucks. An amazing price for a fantastic lunch. Thanks again.

No big deal though.. we walked around the cute old town and worked up an appetite. The place is small and seating is tight. Our server was super friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the surf (grilled shrimp) and turf (flank steak) with a side salad and mashed potatoes. I had the crab encrusted halibut with basmati rice& edamame and a Cesar salad. We started off with cocktails. Husband had a long island iced tea and I had a Jim Beam Manhattan. Cocktails were average. Manhattan had too much vermouth and the Long Island had a lot of sour... But a lot of time I think that comes down to preference. It took a long time to get our food. It was crowded and our server was clearly doing her best. The food looked good. The server said she was waiting for steak knives, so my husband just used the regular butter knife for his steak. The steak was a little tough and lacked flavor. Would have added salt and pepper to it if there was shakers on the table, but didn't want to ask for them. The fish was nice. I didn't really get "crab encrusted". I'm sure it was there but really it just tasted like breaded and fried halibut. The rice and salad were delicious. Overall everything was good. I wouldn't say excellent. And for the price, I would have expected better. But it wasn't bad. There looks to be a lot of other great restaurants that might have a little nicer atmosphere that we would try before coming here again. Overall, I would skip the steak. (Although the chimichurri one would probably be really good). And stick with their flooffy cocktails. The fish was good. And make reservations

But today I went upscale to the crab cake dinner, the most expensive item on the menu. Disappointing; the crab was essentially AWOL. Worse, I was given one flimsy plastic fork that broke during the meal (replaced with another plastic fork and a metal knife). The meal included an excellent salad, sharing a too-small plate with the crab cakes. Stick with the finger food (fish and chips, tacos) and you will be happy. (Except for the overpriced beer, @ $8.50/glass. At least it doesn't come in a paper cup.)

My son got the 8 ounce filet and french fries and his roommate got the Caesar salad. I have no idea how it tasted because me and my son and his roommate felt very rushed. So what gives?!! So I had no idea why they were trying to get rid of us so fast. Note to self, when I want steak in Eugene, I'll find another Steak House and I'll make sure to tell everyone that visits my son and his roommate to go anywhere but Kennedy's.
