    Hair after

I had the worst hair coloring and blow drying experience I've ever had with Grayson. I came in with very blonde hair and asked for my roots to be dyed blonde to match. After over 6 hours, I left with completely orange/white hair. As you can see, my hair is now completely fried and the blowout looks like I air dried it.

after photo, hair texture completely ruined and hair extremely thinned

I had the worst experience at this salon. I got my hair cut by Suemi, and told her that I wanted to get my layers refreshed and bangs cut. I have wavy hair that I barely need to style, I just let it air dry and it waves up beautifully. Suemi used texturizing scissors and severely thinned out my already thin hair, and completely ruined my wave pattern. I'm attaching a before and after picture below. The before was taken 2 days before my haircut. I did the same hair routine both days, and the difference is horrible. I'm very appreciative that PR at Partners gave me a full refund, but I will never be coming back to this salon.

I've known Karen for a while and have gone to her for many of my hair cuts. She has a way of making you feel amazing and comfortable in your own hair. She listens to what you're looking for and offers suggestions to make sure you are happy with the outcome. The salon is locating in the heart of all the great places in DC. Parking isn't great, but what else can you expect in the city. You may get lucky finding free street parking on the weekend, or you can use some of the local garages. The salon itself is modern and pretty simple. They offer free coffee, tea and water and have a variety of hair products you can purchase. They keep it pretty clean and tidy; there's always someone making sure hair is swept up. Karen does amazing with straighter/fine, wavy hair, but I have let her experiment with my curls and my daughter's as well. She is a kerastase embassador and does amazing with color using various methods. I had dry ends and some of my strands were so stubborn. We went a bit shorter than I wanted to, but it was necessary. My daughter was super happy with her cut and all I can say is my curls have amazing coil and bounce. She did a great job!

My Tran is the best hair stylist in the world! Her hair cuts are killer and stand the test of time. I've sent 10+ friends to her pursuing blonde hair. She's hands down the best. The salon has a great selection of products.

The wonderful My Tran fixed my HORRIBLE dyed black hair about a year ago, and it's been lovely ever since. I'm writing the review now because I haven't dyed my hair since I went in and saw her, and I couldn't be more pleased with the way it's faded and matched my roots growing in. I just have to sing her praises. I went in there with hair that was almost indigo it was so dark, and left with a beautiful, rich, reddish-brown. Before making the appointment, I had told her my budget...and even though the process took around FIVE HOURS (way longer than either of us expected) and she added lighter pieces that weren't discussed before, and still honored what I said was my maximum price. And besides that, she's just a dear. Lovely conversation, attentive listener, welcoming attitude, and a great sense of humor! Before and after pics below.

Holy. Sh-t. !!!!!!…read more I can't find enough superlatives to describe Enders and the Burrow team. Enders (in collaboration with Ryan) fixed my hot hot HOT mess of a "balayage" (for which I paid $$$$) basically on the fly, in a fraction of the time, at a small fraction of the cost. Jarrell at the front desk is amazing. More adjectives: cool, high-energy, positive, perfectionistic, artistic, welcoming, amazing playlist. Best salon by far in my 8 years in DC!! My only regret is not finding them sooner.

This was supposed to be a quick bang trim that turned into the worst haircut experience of my life…read more I went in for a trim and the stylist who cut my hair, Jen, made me extremely uncomfortable from the moment I sat down. First, I asked where I could put my bag down and she insisted it didn't matter and this would be quick and then was trying explaining how I wanted my bangs trimmed bc I want to grow them out and she was very dismissive about it and told me to relax and again, insisted that this would just be a super quick bang trim. I went to take my cardigan off bc I had waited around for a while and it got hot, and she said "whoa I didn't know you were going to get undressed." Generally, I felt rushed and thought that comment was weird but I tried to move past it, maybe she just a different sense of humor that's not for me but I don't really care, I just need a service done well, especially since I had to go to a wedding in 48 hours. But the part that bothered me the most was when she put the black cover around my neck, I went to move my hair from being caught under the black robe bc it feels uncomfortable for me, She literally said, word for word, "ma'am I need you to calm down. jeez people in this city are something else." I didn't know where she is from or what she thinks about people who live in this city but it is obviously very negative and was projected onto me. For context, my stylist was a white woman and I am a POC. FYI: People actually do have anxiety disorders and may need folks to be somewhat decent and welcoming in order to feel relaxed and not rushed in and out... I wouldn't have even cared about any of this if the haircut was good, but when I went home and brushed my hair properly it was literally cut at an awful uneven angle and Maybe they are nice if you're paying hundreds for a cut or color but they are not nice to folks going in for quick touch up services and apparently people in DC are "something else" so they already have preconceived notions about some of us I guess.

I do also appreciate that they respect their customers time by doing this. I love that they have a point of sales system where you can pay by tap and that they don't really handle any cash, which is a good sign. Overall, this is the best hair salon in DC that I'm aware of. Very clean establishment They offer coffee, tea, or water to guests Festive decor with some halloween candy at the front desk lol how cute! My services were done by Sonya and I'll say this, you need to book a trichologist! If you're suffering from hair loss, hair damages, dermatitis, and scalp issues, book someone certified to not just style your hair but customize the right care for your hair. Sonya did just that and she was sweet, understanding, not scornful of my hair condition, and really made a dull hair shine again. As someone battling dermatitis, I booked a cut, moisture hydration treatment, and scalp exfoliating detox masks and honey...this service was just what I needed. Sonya carefully explained everything to me from things do refrain from if my scalp became flared and how to manage it in between. I'm so relieved to have found her because my hair was missing this level of care and support. I'm scheduled to return soon and cannot wait to continue this journey to healthy hair with a dynamic stylist. Book the appointment and if you need special attention to the state of your hair, book Sonya-you won't regret it.

I've always told the colorists…read morethat I like my natural hair and don't like to do anything to my hair that requires high maintenance since I'm very busy. After the root coloring turned my overall hair appearance much darker than my natural hair color over time, I asked for a low maintenance coloring style that could bring my hair back closer to its natural color, and for which I would need to do no up keep except keep coloring my roots. The colorist did a set of highlights on my hair that turned random strands of hair throughout my entire head ORANGE and completely damaged my hair. After I complained I had to return to get a gloss/toner. That did not solve the issue and my hair was back to orange immediately, so I had to contact the salon yet again and asked for a solution. For the first time, the colorist (a different one) told me the orange appearance will continue to come back unless I keep doing glossing or do an expensive full head single color appointment, which I was shocked to hear as that was exactly what I asked NOT to happen to my hair (and my time). They also said I should pay for a haircut. I asked the salon for an appointment for the full single color so someone could provide a more permanent solution to the issue. The salon refused to make that a complimentary visit. They also sent me a one-liner email saying I shouldn't come back. I don't typically write reviews and I am not pleased to write this as to a place that had otherwise been my regular salon for a basic root touch up. But there was serious miscommunication at every turn, rudeness by the owner for no good reason, and an unwillingness to actually pay to fix the situation for a loyal customer whose hair they destroyed on a permanent basis. Do not come here for any highlight related work.
