Some companies manage properties. MAP Property Management (MAP) helped my family find a home…read more I first rented with MAP in 2013, and after moving away for what I thought would be a better opportunity, life took an unexpected turn. When my daughters and I needed a safe place to begin again, I reached back out to MAP, hoping they could help. They did. What they found for us wasn't just another apartment. It became our sanctuary, one that I could afford on my own as a single mom rebuilding her life. For the past 11 years, my daughters and I have been able to build a life filled with something we hadn't had in a long time: stability. My youngest daughter grew up in this home, attended the same schools from elementary through high school, and graduated alongside many of the same friends she made years before. Those everyday moments may seem ordinary, but to us, they were everything. Throughout the years, every maintenance request has been handled promptly, every phone call has been met with kindness, and I've always been treated with respect. I especially want to thank Laurie and Patty. They have been two of the kindest, most compassionate people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. While they manage the property where I live, they've become part of the reason I can proudly call this place home. Home isn't just about four walls. It's about the feeling you get when you walk through your front door at the end of a long day, knowing you're safe, you're cared for, and you're exactly where you're supposed to be. MAP gave my family so much more than an apartment. They gave us a place to begin again. For that, I will always be grateful.

As I searched for a new management team, I knew I wanted a company that offered professionalism, transparency, and modern systems. Specifically, I was looking for clear monthly financial reporting, online service requests for tenants, and a responsive, organized team. MAP has exceeded my expectations in every area. From the beginning, MAP handled the transition seamlessly and professionally. Their experience and expertise were evident in every interaction. In just six months, our property revenue increased, and we received positive feedback from tenants regarding the improved management and communication. Laurie, Sandy, and Patty truly make an exceptional team. Whenever I have questions or concerns, someone responds promptly. They also have a reliable network of contractors, electricians, handymen, and other service providers they can recommend, which has been incredibly valuable and time-saving. I appreciate knowing that the vendors they recommend are trustworthy and fairly priced. What stands out most is their commitment to supporting property owners. They are proactive, solution-oriented, and always willing to help implement changes or address concerns. Even during the sale of one of my properties, MAP worked closely with my real estate agent and helped coordinate communication with tenants throughout the process, which significantly reduced my stress. I highly recommend MAP to any property owner looking for an experienced, professional, and dependable property management company. Their knowledge, responsiveness, and integrity truly set them apart. I only wish I had found them years ago.

My experience at 524 W Greenwood Ave has been some of the most unnecessarily stressful of my 50 + years as a renter. I was a homeowner a few times during this time also I am very aware of the responsibilities of an owner and as a renter. Roberts client, and defacto mother/tenant have made it nearly impossible for Robert to have managed my tenancy properly. I want to believe, given the appropriate opportunity, I would have experienced a more favorable outcome. Robert, to my knowledge, has not been directly involved in the nefarious actions of his clients. The turning off of my heat and hot water on several occasions in the past month. The hiding of my trash cans. The theft of my mail and subsequent use of my bankcard by a family member. The constant harassment, verbal assaults, physical threats and finally lying regarding my exclusive use of a patio and then in retaliation, excluding it as a punishment. I believe Robert was acting in good faith regarding his client. However I have and continue to suffer greatly at the hands of his client. I can only close my eyes, click my heels together 3 times and repeat, "there's no place like home," and hope a house falls on top of his client. When I open my eyes I will be transported to the home of my dreams, on 3/2/2026, far, far away from this scary horrible place. I will pray for the next tenant!

My husband and I lived at a property managed by Responsive Property Management (RPM) for around a…read moreyear and a half, and moved due to an unexpected job change that required a relocation. Generally, our experience had been positive overall until we moved out. The property was quiet and the few things that broke while we were there were fixed quickly. While we were there, we also fixed a couple minor things ourselves, such as replacing the sink strainers (the ones provided didn't fit well), adding a handle to the garage's side door (so you could close it without pulling your key to close the door), and adding a pull to the yard gate to make it usable. The one thing that was less than perfect while we were there was the gardener, who frequently didn't do about half the gardening work. I ended up buying some hand tools so I could clip the plants along the back walkway to the garage because the gardener did not do this even though it was part of his job. Until I became pregnant and the weather hit over 100 degrees, I would go out and clip the plants so we (and our neighbors) could use the pathway to get to our garages. We didn't report this because we didn't feel it would be worth the hassle and inevitable animosity from the gardener. My husband did ask the gardener to address the pathway once I was no longer able to, and thankfully he started clipping is a week or two later. It should have been done the entire time and without us asking though, since it was part of the common area of the complex. The biggest issue we had, and the reason I decided to write this review, was the poor experience we had around our move out. First off, shortly after we gave notice, we were being pressured to be available to show the unit to prospective people. This was a small unit that was already cramped, and adding boxes being packed made it very hard to move around, so we had to decline. During our pre-move out inspection (before things were fully packed), we went over the space with Frank and were told as long as we cleaned and patched the holes (from hanging photos and such), we would only be charged for a prorated painting and basic cleaning. In the past 10 years I have moved multiple times and have cleaned and patched holes every time, each time getting the full deposit back (minus any standard stuff in the contract like the pro-rated painting). We had requested the final inspection on our last day in the afternoon, but they would not do one unless we agreed to do it first thing in the morning and allow painters in at that time. Our move was difficult, we needed the time for cleaning, and we were coming from 2 hours away, so we needed that final day to complete cleaning and moving the last of our stuff. Because of this they moved our inspection to after we were out of the apartment. I spent two days cleaning and patching, (again, while pregnant), to make sure everything was in order so we could get our deposit back as usual. Imagine our surprise when we are get our deposit back missing $1000, including a charge for "excessive holes in walls." I had literally patched every hole and the charges seemed like they were really trying to get the most they could from the deposit. When we asked about the "excessive holes" charge, we were given a vague answer about the patching "wasn't done right" (which is false) and provided "proof" in a cell phone video too grainy to see any details, with a worker walking around in the dimly lit apartment mumbling in Spanish and filming the walls after he had apparently done this "repatching." It's a shame that our move out experience was so poor and the company chose to abuse the deposit charges this way, because I would have otherwise recommended them. However, after this, I can not recommend them unless you want to be excessively charged at move out.

Along with this, I received an invoice for the cleaning and painting charges, and that invoice itself was incorrect and showed the wrong amount. I strongly recommend avoiding any apartment complex managed by this company. Their "regional manager" never responds, their follow up on maintenance requests is mediocre at best, and like I said - they do whatever they can to keep most of your deposit. Never felt so ripped off before. ZERO stars if I could.

When we followed up again later, the owner informed us that he had already responded to Gemma 2 weeks ago and believed we had been updated. Overall, there was a complete breakdown in communication between property management, the owner, and the tenant, which resulted in unnecessary confusion and delay. My husband & I were interested in a rental property. They make it a little difficult to schedule viewings. You have to make an account on a website they use called Showing Hero. You then have to upload your ID and a selfie. If they "match" your pictures, then you're allowed to schedule a viewing. Their system was having issues. My husband kept trying, but the pictures weren't matching. My husband & myself called to ask about it & Dexter suggested having any friend or family member do it to get the showing scheduled. He also explained that several people have been reporting the issue, but they had absolutely no back up plan. So I did it & after several tries, it finally worked. I was home with our kids, so my husband went. He got there for our appt & I had to text a code to a phone number which then tracked my location, but wouldn't provide the code to get in the property because I specifically wasn't at the location. I called Dexter, gave all the necessary proof & they refused to provide the code. I explained my frustration & explained that Dexter never said I personally had to be there. He wanted us to use any friend or family member to make the appt, but not once did he say we would have to pick up the person who did it & bring them over there. I told him that the miscommunication was done on his part, but he refused to do anything about it & then proceeded to hang up on me. If he truly is a manager, it just shows how poorly this company is run. Complete waste of time & horrible customer service. If you do have to work with this company, avoid Dexter at all costs. Highly unprofessional.
