Vegetable Pad See-Ew Noodles & Tom Ka Gai Soup
    Laura M.

Went to Nunthaporn to eat dinner before a show at Mesa Arts Center. It's hands down the BEST Thai food we've ever had in Arizona!!! The restaurant itself doesn't look like anything special, but the food is phenomenal. I had the Tom Ka Gai Soup with Shrimp, it was Delicious and the Vegetable Pad See-Ew Noodles, they were outstanding. Loved all the flavors. Our server was a really nice lady. The restaurant was packed, I'm sure with the theater rush. We will definitely be back next time we're in Mesa!

Please Note: this business has a new name: PP Thai & Sushi, LLC as of Sept. 2025. NEW PHONE number: 480-504-3348. Same location, 17 W Main Street Mesa, AZ. Same great food. They upgraded the restaurant to an even more inviting ambiance. Anthony and Lucky are our favorite servers. We've been coming here for years for consistently excellent Thai food. All sauces and foods are homemade to order. We especially like the peanut sauce. We recommend this place!

DONT COME OR eat here. I got here an hour before closing and the waitress is so RUDE. I wanted to order appetizers she said nothing was available but one option but i called before to order take out & the options were still there..... OK i thought maybe since its slow the chef told her he wants to close the kitchen Not to mention i was joining my family here & she did not offer me the menu or anything to drink. Had to literally keep begging for service to my TABLE. Not even any small plates offered to my children after i told her i was going to share my fried rice plate. She kept moving my stroller like it bothered her and the restaurant wasn't even busy. Please stop being rude to Costumers who come inside to eat ! Its not our fault you had a bad DAY ASIAN LADY.

This is a small hole in the wall place in downtown Mesa. What it lacks in elegance it more than makes up for in both great food and friendly and efficient service. My parents come to this place often and I can see why. I was first struck by the friendliness of the staff. They truly enjoy what they are doing. They have a diverse menu and I am sure you can find something you want. They have Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten free options, and of course thing for the Carnivores of us. We decided to go family style which was great so I could try more of the food. My only regret is I lack the time to try more menu I tens before I go home. The food was so delicious. They also have large portions which was great because I missed lunch and needed a large dinner. So if you are in the area and are hungry then you need to eat here.

12/9/23: highly recommend Nunthaporn's. Why not 5-stars? They did not have sticky rice or Thai custard for dessert (yes, we went to another Thai place for this) :-) . Four of us stopped in Saturday at 4:30. Cute little place that we discovered is bigger than what we saw - as we walked out after dinner down the street, we saw they had a whole second dining room. They have a small parking lot immediately behind their place, but there is also parking out front (if you want to brave Main Street), and also plenty of free city parking lots southwest of their building. The young gal who took our order was very nice, and repeated our orders as we gave them to her and even did so again after we all had ordered. The food did not come out quickly, so cool your jets if you're in a hurry, but it also did not take overly long to come out - it all came out hot and well presented. The gal who delivered it was different and she did not seem all that happy to be working. We did all enjoy our food although we were all surprised at lack of spiciness to the dishes. Point of note, yes, we did all say mild, but at other Thai places mild still is pretty darn spicy (for us). Nunthaporn's was lacking in that kick so when we return, we will definitely go for more spice. Maybe when we return, they will actually have dessert.

I wanted to check out Nunthaporn's Thai Cuisine, so I asked my son and his boyfriend to join me for dinner so off we went! We arrived on a Tuesday evening and was greeted right away; everyone was so friendly, and service was great! After checking out the menu I knew I wanted to start off with spring rolls and a Thai tea, after that I ordered pad Thai with chicken for my main. The Thai tea was perfectly sweet, and it was pretty to look at until I blended it haha. The spring rolls didn't last long, they were a very tasty app. But the pad Thai was some the best Pad Thai I have had in a long time, so dang good. Everyone ordered something different and loved their dishes. I honestly can't wait to go back to try more of the dishes. If in the downtown Mesa area go give them a try!

Came here on a whim because I wanted pad Thai and figured I'd try this place before we move. Oh my gosh it's soooo good. Totally authentic Thai. I'm obsessed and sad we won't be in this area to visit again. I might just have to make the drive... order the pad Thai!! Full of flavor and the fried tofu is excellent.

This spot is a hidden gem! The food, the service, the experience in general is flawless. They do have a lunch menu and a dinner menu. The lunch menu is more condensed. A simple ask for the dinner menu and they'll be more than happy to give it to you. I mean that impeccable service. I got the Thai curry with noodles (dinner menu), and if you've ever had khao soi that's what the dish is. Curry was flavorful and not to coconutity. We also order the spring rolls. You could tell those were homemade because the inside did have sort of a curry flavor to it. Anyways don't go to your default Thai place try this place out because it's worth it! ENJOY!

First time eating here, Thursday lunch. We arrived at 1230, and were seated immediately. The decor is nice, attractive and understated. So many restaurants are over decorated, this was a pleasant change. It looks very tasteful. We had an appetizer of chicken satay and won ton soup. The chicken was tender and nicely marinated, served with peanut sauce, onion and cucumber. The soup had a good number of won tons and chicken. I appreciated it wasn't too hot, perfect temperature. Entrée of chicken garlic lover was very tasty, served with brown jasmine rice. It had a really nice sauce, lots of garlic. Entrée of pad ke Mao was my favorite. The noodles weren't sticky, and the dish wasn't overly sauced. All plates are spiced to individual order. Perhaps the best I've had in America. The service was prompt and very friendly, the restaurant and restrooms were clean. Overall, a very nice experience. I would certainly return

Item M14 -Gang Kiew Waan Roti from the photos says it's served w/ roti. But we were charged an additional $3 for roti, which was not mentioned to me when putting in the order. Only after we received our order and saw the receipt did I check Google. Web link on Google works and it appears they changed the name of the item and removed roti from the name. 2. To go portions are small for the price. Chicken larb was enough for like 2 people and had only one piece of lettuce. Papaya salad was also small and 1/2 the container was garnishes (carrots/cabbage). 3. For a noodle soup, any other place would put noodles separate from its broth. My khao soi came all in one container. Forgot to take a photo while it was in the container but there's an old photo of it somewhere on Yelp. 4. Crab fried rice had barely any crab. 5. There was no white rice. Places usually provide some white rice regardless if you order fried rice but I guess that's an extra charge here. 6. We ordered medium spicy for majority of the dishes because one person can't handle spicy but everything came out mild tasting. Even my khao soi, which I ordered hot spicy level, came out mild. 7. Thai tea was missing. After ordering, I asked the person on the phone to read back my order to me. She listed everything I had ordered including the thai tea. But after the order was picked up (not by me), the thai tea was not included in the order. It's a bit out of the way from here to there so no one is going to drive all the way back to get it. I went elsewhere close by for the thai tea. The basil chicken had almost no basil flavor at all. I only found a single basil leaf in the entire dish, which took away from what should be a signature ingredient. The Tom Yum soup was fine, but not memorable, and the spice level across both dishes was surprisingly mild for a Thai restaurant. Based on my experience, the strong reviews here feel a bit overstated. I was hoping for more authentic flavor and seasoning than what was served.

It's a clean, small mom and pop with open style booths down one side and a couple small tables towards the front. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us immediately and offered to sit wherever we like. We ordered fresh spring rolls which were very good, nice and fresh and large. The peanut dipping sauce was excellent. I tried the pad Thai and my mom tried the drunken noodles. I ordered 3/5 or "hot" and she ordered 0/5. The pad Thai was a bit wet, it could have used a bit less sauce. It was almost a soup. The noodles were good but there unfortunately was almost no spice. I was pretty disappointed, as I was really looking forward to sweating from some good Thai spice. 3/5 should be hot, not mild. Was the weakest "hot" I've ever had. I've had many 2/5s elsewhere that were far hotter.
