The Shop - The Shop of Pendleton, Oregon is selling and installing these catalytic converters. This is what it looks like just under 1-year old.

I depend on my car for work use to support my family of 6 kids. I took my car in for a major repair that costs over $2,000 and exactly 1 year later the exact same parts failed in the manor of why U took my car to The Shop in the first place. When I took my car back the shop owner refused to do anything about it, nor tried to warranty anything. Is this the way a local business is supposed to treat a small town working man? It gets even worse with what I actually found out. The parts that failed weren't even new parts that I paid so much money for, after getting several professional opinions from other automotive shops, including the one that actually fixed it right. I found out that the parts were no way only a year old as the bolts and components were completely rusted out and shown much more age with the condition they were in, to be in the shape and appearance compared to other like parts and components of 1-year in age. Of course I went back to Ron, the owner and confronted him about it, he actually escorted me out of his place of business and went on in denial of the whole thing, and literally was happy to wash his hands of the whole thing, like I was a nobody. And since I also found out that taking him to court would cost more than what I would get back in restitution, I'm going to let every fellow Pendleton local know if The Shop's deceitful ways so that you can trust someone else with your car. If your car is scheduled to go to the shop, do yourself a huge favor and go get it right now to take it somewhere else, and If you are already stuck with using the shop because they are already working on it, please inspect what you expect, because they don't honor their warranties, if they actually have any, and don't get used or so-called refurbished parts like I got. I will be also posting pictures to edify this post for credibility and authenticity that this is a true and accurate review of this local business; The Shop of Pendleton, Oregon.

$45 to fix a punctured tire…read more Seems high, Les Schwab does it free. Wait a minute ... looking at the bill we realize how padded it is. What do you think? $5 for Haz Mat? Another $5 for Parts. Hmmmm ... it was a small bolt in the tire. The Flat Repair is $35, the rest is pure hogwash. Beware of the business practices of any business that would charge superfluous and ridiculous charges like these. Thus is a small tire shop in Pendleton, Oregon. A rip off. Won't return.

During our…read more4th of July trip to Long Beach, WA from Georgia, we had a nasty accident which involved a tire flying off of our Jeep while on the interstate. We were towed into Pendleton, OR since that was the closest approved Progressive repair center. Upon arrival, we met Cory and Dave. These two guys were extremely kind and understanding to our situation. Now being in such a remote spot, during the 4th of July holiday there was a understandably longer wait to get things repaired. We left our Jeep, got a rental and pushed on into Long Beach. When we returned to Pendleton, our Jeep still had a bit of body work to go through, so Cory set us up with his corporate discount at one of the local hotels and we saved a good bit of cash by him doing this. I know though the whole ordeal, we were giant pains in the butt for these guys, calling frequently asking for updates and such. Never once was the service anything less than exceptional, there was always a smile on there faces, they didn't mind chatting with us and made me feel much better about the stressful situation. If you guys ever read this, we made it home safe and sound and truly appreciate all the hard work you put in. Our Jeep looks good as new and we couldn't be happier.

We were driving our new (used) Sprinter RV back home to Az. It ran well the first two days then…read morethe 3rd day it was running a little hot. I wasn't gonna go the Pendleton over the pass route, but my wife wasn't feeling well so we changed our plans to get home sooner. We got to Pendleton for an overnight. The next morning, I was intending to take it easy, keep the speed down, no AC, run the heater if necessary to get up and over to Boise and fix it there. Anyway, we started up the 3000 ft. elevation. We only got up two miles and it started overheating. The previous owner had just replaced the water pump and the thermostat(?) As I found out, No actually, he didn't! Who puts in a new water pump with an old thermostat? We called Good Sam for a tow back to town. It took a while, but got a trucking firm next to Wildhorse Casino. I felt secure knowing their reputation, it should be addressed quickly correctly. The tow guy showed up with his semi tow truck, WOW. He said he was gonna take a look 1st. He went at it and thought it might be the thermostat, as I did. He bypassed the electric fan for the radiator too, to stay on and keep it cool-er. He said run the heat full blast if it overheat, it did, and I did. We got back down the hill to "Truck's worth". They said surprisingly, it would be 7-10 days before they could touch it. Referred me to others for my small repair. It would have been nice to know that hours earlier and have it already setup. But no, I was just dismissed? [Now, Good Sam was at fault, knowing that we were in transit. Why did you send me there if they wouldn't be able to touch it for at least a week??] Devin the tow guy, made the effort to get me back to town and offered to put in the thermostat at least. It may not be the answer, but he didn't leave us hanging. said he would do it, if we ran in to trouble getting it done. Community business commerce is based on good work, fair pricing and a good reputation with your customers. Yes, your primary customers should be taken care always. So I don't totally fault Kenworth, oops! I blame Good Sam for not doing the whole job! If you need a tow of any size or to be rescued up on "Deadman's Pass." Call Devin at Taylor Towing and Recovery, he will get you back to town to get the work done. If he is not super busy because he knows how to provide service as part of the whole job!
