We would never recommend Power Pro Plumbing to anyone. We had a horrible experience with them.  We hired them to fix a running toilet, paid them $200+ before finding out that the leak was not fixed and they failed to honor their "warranty" and refused to give us a refund. The part they used did not fit our toilet so the toilet continued to leak but they refused to purchase the part from the original equipment manufacturer because they would only source from their warehouse supplier. So rather than purchasing a $25 part they said we need to pay $450 to replace our toilet (not including the cost of a new toilet) and they refuse to give us full credit for the $200+ we already paid. (They would only give us a $100 credit.) At this point we feel like we are being scammed. We spent hours arguing with customer service rep Rachel, who could not comprehend that we should not have to pay when they failed to make the repair that they were hired to do. Also, another word of warning - We tried to contest the bill with our credit card company but failed because when you pay your bill (before we realized that the toilet was still leaking) they make you sign something on which there is a fine print that makes you sign away your rights.  The bad news is that we are out $200 for failed repair, but we wanted to warn anyone who is considering this company of our experience. read more

I wish I can actually rate their service, but sadly I can't get them to come to my house on time. I made an appointment for leak detection on a Tuesday between 8am-10am, I asked them to make me the first of the day because I have to be at work at 11:00am. They said that will not be a problem, and she made a note of this in their system. So at Tuesday at 9:45am I get a call saying plumber is on his way will be at my house in 30 minutes. I told them we will have to reschedule because I have work. We make another appointment for Wednesday same time 8am-10am. I asked them to make me first of the day for leak detection. I was told again not a problem. Wednesday comes at 9:50am I get a call saying they're on their way and will be at my house in 30 minutes. I told the lady I need to cancel because I have work, and I will simply get someone else for my leak detection. (Two times really) She said their leak detectors start later in the morning. I asked her why was I scheduled for 8am then? Silence.... I'm not even mad, just moving on. Everyone I talked to was nice from their company shoutout Desire and Ingrid. Today SoCal Gas stopped by my house and advised me that there was a leak and they needed to turn off the gas. This means no stove or no hot water. They advised us to call a plumber to find the leak and then they can turn the gas back on. We immediately called Power Pro Plumbing and advised them that our gas has been turned off by the gas company and we need someone to fix it immediately. They told us they could come out same day (Monday) between 2-5pm. Well both my wife and I work during those hours but we need the gas turned back on so I left work at 1pm to get to my house by 2pm. At 6:45pm someone finally showed. I tell him do whatever you need to do to fix the gas issue and he immediately responds with "I don't deal with gas. You will need a tech to come out to test it." So not only did I wait almost 5 hours for this person to arrive (when it should have been 3 hours) now he is telling me he doesn't even deal with the issue we called about. WHY ARE YOU SENDING OUT PEOPLE THAT CANT FIX THE ISSUE I CALLED ABOUT?! To make this even better he tells me it's going to cost anywhere from $400-1100 just to test, AND they said the earliest they can come out is the next day (Tuesday) from 10-11am. This means I will have to take more time off from work since it's literally in the middle of the day. He leaves by telling me "make sure someone answers the phone tomorrow otherwise the tech will just leave." Tonight I will have the pleasure of trying to figure out how to wash my 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son with freezing cold water. We will have to eat out tonight because there is no stove. THANK YOU PRO POWER PLUMBING FOR WASTING MY ENTIRE DAY. THANK YOU FOR LEAVING MY FAMILY WITH COLD WATER AND NO STOVE FOR THE AT LEAST TODAY! AND THANKS FOR SENDING PEOPLE OUT HERE THAT DO NOT HANDLE THE ISSUE WE CALLED ABOUT. This was completely unacceptable and the 0 empathy and urgency I received today told me everything I need to know about this company. read more

I will give them two stars for the two times I used them previously (over a year ago) and the technicians both were good. And both jobs only required lighting the water heater. My recent and third time using Power Pro Plumbing was to light the water heater again. The pilot light would not stay lit for me. The technician was able to light the water heater but by later in the evening the flame had gone out again. I called them the next day to see if they could come out and take a look at it again. At first I was told they would come out and light the flame again for the same price I was charged the previous day - I guess theres no warranty on work. Then I was told they would only replace the water heater. I explained that it was only 6 years old and I couldn't afford to have it replaced. And finally I got a quote to replace the thermocouple for $485 and $875 to replace the gas control. I finally found another plumber who listened to me and problem solved the situation. He instructed me to call the manufacturer and request the parts I needed. I did and they were sent to me for free. And then the new pilot assembly was installed by another plumber for half the price quoted by Power Pro Plumbing. I would not recommend Power Pro Plumbing to anyone in the future. read more

He was extremely professional, very knowledgeable and took an immense amount of time to answer all of my questions in detail. Shysters....Shysters...Shysters These people have absolutely no shame, taking full advantage of my elderly parents. Mom 85, Dad 90 and Dad has Alzheimer's. Last week my mom had a problem with the kitchen sink draining so they called Power Pro plumbers. The plumber did a simple reset the of the garbage disposal for on charge, giving my parents the appearance that they were trust worthy. So Mom taken in by the sales pitch of 'preventive maintenance' and feeling some how obligated, called back for a simple maintenance inspection. So Monday night I find that Power Pros had cut and jackhammered a 4x4 hole in the concrete walkway of the house that afternoon. There was never any signs of damage or leakage anywhere inside or outside of the house, I was in shock. Asked Mom what happened and she was told by the Power Pros technician there was root damage to the out going sewer line. Funny there are no trees in the front yard of the house. Dad with Alzheimer's didn't remember anything. So of course I needed to see the paper work, Mom and Dad where so confused they couldn't remember what they had done with the estimate. So Tuesday morning I called Power Pros Cerritos office to find out about the estimate and try to get a logical explanation. The first person I talked too told me they would email me the paperwork, after an hour no email......I had to call back and talked to the the Installation Manager who seemed concern and email the estimate to me while I was still on the phone. After receiving the $4000.00 estimate I was shocked again. My Dad signed the estimate electronically on Saturday the 2nd which I'm sure added to his confusion, but in the estimate it states that my parents have a 'Three Day Right To Cancel' and they started work on Monday morning the 4th less then two days after he signed, not giving my parents enough time to exercise their right to the 'Three Day Right To Cancel' especially when it was Preventive Maintenance with no real urgency or any apparent damage to the property. On the estimate it did not give any kind of description of how the so-called technician came to his conclusion of why he had to cut a hole in the concrete. The Installation Manager was going to find out what was 'going on' for me and call me back later in the day. So now I go to the hole with a shovel, I need to see the repair in the sewer line. I dig maybe a foot down and it's gets hard as a rock, it's apparent that no one had dug a hole to the pipe, just the 4'x4'- 4" thick slab of concrete that was jackhammered and cut through along with thousands of dollars of cool Flagstone that was damaged on the walkway. I decide to call a local HB plumber to ask how far down I have to dig to hit the sewer line. He told me 3' to 6' depending, so I told him about the situation and he had heard of Power Pros and they're notoriously bad reputation. Since he was a local plumber and a nice guy he came over with two of his technicians. They ran a scope down the drain line from the house to the street and determined that there was no damage to the sewer pipe and no apparent work had been done to the pipe. He was kind enough to record everything on a hard drive for me so I do have the evidence. His conclusion 'that NO work had been done to the pipe'......WOW. Also took a trip over to HB city hall to find out if Power Pros pulled any permits to do the work, which legally they have to do. No permit. So Mom called and talked with the Installation Manager, to tell her to stop any further work. The Installation Manager told her the work was done and it's a $4000.00 bill. The hole is still there. Yesterday I contacted the Orange County Adult Protective Services they will be filing a case and we will be talking to a social worker in the next few days. Today I will be contacting the CSLB, California Contractors State License Board to check on Power Pros bond and any infractions they might have throughout the years. The bottom line is: I don't like people trying to take advantage of my parents, who have always been honest hard working folks. It's not good business taking advantage of people, especially the elderly! read more

We recently bought a home and kept smelling gas. We bought a meter on Amazon which said we had a gas leak. We contacted Power Pro and they came to our house the same day. We discovered our 70 year old house had multiple gas leaks which is quite dangerous! PowerPro started work right away and we were back in business in just two days. I had another job done by Power Pro and they did a great job once again! I had asbestos removed and new ducts put in. This was a huge job and I was happy with the end results. No more asbestos and the work was great. The air conditioner is working great! Kudos to the entire team that made it happen. It was Albert, Robert, Felix, Johnny, Jesus and Rufino. On Sunday, December 23rd, we had some sprinkler repair work done by our gardener. He had to shut off the water line from the street to the house via an old gate valve next to the house. That valve was old and rusted and when the work was done it could not be opened to let the water flow. So here we were, late Sunday, before Christmas and we had no water in the house. We called a "24 hour, 7 day a week" company only to be told they had no one available until after Christmas; yikes! We found Power Pro Plumbing on-line and explained the issue; we needed a ball valve, etc, etc. They said someone would be out within a two hour window, and yes they could fix it. At about 5:15 Jorge Barrios from Power Pro showed up, assessed the situation and said he could remove the old valve and install the new one. We told him to go ahead, as we needed water. Jorge worked on the valve and copper tubing replacement and had everything working again by about 8:15 PM, three hours! Now, we thought the cost (under $700.00) was reasonable considering it was the Sunday two days before Christmas so we were happy. I will definitely use these guys in the future. read more

I had a bad experience - almost cost me upwards of $2700 for a job that a real plumber did for $220 plus a $6 home depot filter I got myself. I believe they may be on commission. For a sink that seemed to lose water pressure, they wanted to sell me a whole house water pressure regulator and made his way into my garage with a flashlight because he had to see how it was constructed. It just needed a $6 filter from Home Depot. The leaky bathtub faucet was going to be $2700 because he had to cut through the tile and then repair and replace with a larger plate and new faucet and oh by the way because there was no access from the back it could cost more. It was $220 for a real plumber to fix and that included his time to go to home depot and pick up a part - no cutting through tile - no asking about access from the back etc etc. When I told the $2700 plumber I would need to contact someone else for a second estimate his whole countenance changed and he said twice the christian music was playing in the background made him feel like he was going to hell. I tried to review them on G**Gle where they have over 4+ reviews but the card he gave me had no location and that is only by location. When I contacted them to find out the location, they offered to enter in the review for me. Yeah right. Draw your own conclusions. read more
