Initial consultation the sales rep showed us a sample that was broken. Bad start. But that was due to being in the back of his car. Yeh right. Total measure for 6 windows and 3 doors was over 3 hours. Then the first quote was about $26,000. HA HA. So then the hard sell started. There was the pitch about loans @ 17%. and then when we said that our limit was $18,000 he after leaving and going to his car, kept coming back with a lower offer. Finally when he said $19,062 we agreed. Then 2 dats later another person shows up to do more supposed precise measurements and that is where the real company bared its ugly face. He started with I have some bad news. Now we were pitched these windows and doors were Custom made. But according to him this is based on some sort of algorythm and the space needed at the top of the door needed to be 1/4" and ours was 3/4" and shimmed in the middle as are the present ones and because of this it was going to cost us an additional $1,600. Well after calling and speaking to their representative in the office to try to understand, he decided that he would have the original sales man come back. He came back and tried to haggle about the $1,600 with us saying that he would take 'No Commission on this job but to save it would go to a bank nearby and get $800. to split the difference. I still wasn't convinced so we put it off so I could investigate more. I spoke with their engineer and all he could tell me was that our door, even though it was custom made was out of the parameters for a custom door and they could not do the job for what the contract that was signed said. I had also had time to go over the contract and was surprised the the wrong color hardware was going to be ordered, and we weren't going to be getting the Impact resistant glass as we were shown. I asked the job coordinator to please have the sales rep call me multiple times with no response all weekend. I had also place an app on mu computer to follow my job as it came together and I found out that everything that had been there was REMOVED! I am so happy that I didn't give in to their sneaky tactics. There was also a clause in their contract that said that the contract needed to be cancelled by Telegram. Well I called them to make sure that seeing they weren't sticking to the price I was originally quoted that I was not going to be sending any telegram and my next call would be to my lawyer if need be. They assured me that the contract had been withdrawn before I even called them. So if they come to bang on your door, shut it quickly and if you have any doubts looks further for many people have had similar experiences with them. I do not recommend this Company to anyone! read more

Power Home Remodeling - Windows Installation Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

They installed new windows in the back of my house several years ago, the windows were great quality and have held up well, except for one window which, I reported to Power remodeling on 03/31/22, it was covered under warranty , I expected a delay in getting the replacement. After 1 year, at the end of march 2023 I called, to get an update, again in June, and July, at this stage I was losing my patience and asked to reach out to the manufacture to get a firm date for the replacement. Power home representative, said "we don't do that, you just have to wait" that blew me away and I demanded to speak to a manger, but no one called me, no one apologized or seemed to care, finally at the end of August, after nearly 18 months, I got one window replaced because the top window was the wrong style and did not match. I was told it should come in 2 weeks, now almost 5 weeks later I'm still waiting. At this stage 19 months after I first reported and asked for a replacement I have called the company at least 12 times, I have had them hang up on me, refused to call the window company, or had the decency to call me with any updates on when I will get the dam window ! I got the same windows installed in the front of the house by a different company a few years later, I was shocked how much less than Power, like 50% less !! read more

As of today, these replacement windows have not been installed. As a matter of fact, they did schedule to replace the windows that failed. Service was scheduled for today 9/18/2022 at 1230pm (Over 18 months after I put in the claim). I took off work to ensure someone would be here for the service call. At 1 pm I received a call to cancel my service after I called the warranty department this morning to confirm the appointment. This is on top of the fact that 3 more windows have failed and when I called about them back in February I was told it would be another 12 months to get those replaced and then they would have to schedule service. So 18 more months. Now I don't know what is going on with them but I do know that if you are a new customer your appointment and windows are completed in under 2 months. Makes sense then that replacement windows could be ordered if they wish to take care of their current customers. DO NOT BUY anything from Power Home Remodeling. It is absolutely unbelievable that the BBB rates them an A+ on their site. Customer service and standing behind their products must not be on the criteria for rating. read more

Absolutely STAY AWAY! I used Power Home for multiple projects. New windows, doors, siding, and roof. You would think after spending tens of thousands of dollars they would treat their customers well. WRONG. I called them recently because when they did my roof this past February they assured me the ridge vents they put in and the side vents were sufficient air flow in the attic that I no longer needed an attic fan. As an electrician who used to install attic fans and had spent extensive time I have experience in how hot attics can get. My new roof with vents and no attic fan is extremely hot. More than normal. 30 degrees over outside temp and now my ac runs constantly. When i called power home they told me they would get back to me the next day with a solution. A week later no call, I called them snd they told me there is nothing they will do for me and were quite rude about it as well. You would think when a customer spends this much money a small gesture such as at least coming out to the house or paying for a fan to be installed or another solution would be a minor cost. They basically told me they don't care. If you want gold customer service and a company that cares about more than just depleting your life savings DO NOT USE POWER HOME. read more

My interaction began with the 'salesman' mugging a face and waving at me through my window. It degraded from there. From the mirrored sunglasses to his inability to give me a business card without asking me questions about my home, my budget and the like. I again asked for the card at which point he said he'd leave one in my mailbox (illegal to do so) In lieu of the card he might have shown the registration certificate he is required to carry were he approved for door to door sales. He is obviously not approved. He used the old "we're doing work with some of your neighbors" spiel. (He's not) The information he gave about my house made it clear that he walked over my property. It was obvious I wanted him to leave. He would not. I found him agressive. read more

DO NOT SIGN THEIR CONTRACT! They are threatening to send me to collections if I don't pay for a door that was delivered incorrectly and will now take an additional 6 weeks to arrive. This door cost $7000. This was after me waiting 6 hours at home for the door to arrive on Monday. Scheduled for 8am didn't arrive until 2pm. I needed the door for an upcoming home appraisal. The new door would arrive too late. Now my credit score has a $2300 hit (1/3 was paid in advanced) and my home has the same old door. They are quoting that the cancellation timeline is 5 days after signing contract. But there is a part of the contract that communicates the Contractor's ability to cancel the contract. When I asked if he would do that he said no, either pay the remaining balance or go to collections. No remorse, concern, or compensation for my time or troubles. read more

The Power Home team was great from start to finish! The team members all arrived on time and were very knowledgeable of their product and remained professional during the entire process. The install team left my home spotless when all the work was completed! The team took pride in their work, which is rare these days. I would definitely use this company again for future projects and will refer to my family and friends. I had them replace all my basement windows. Fantastic results. read more

Replacement patio door requested, price quoted by associate on site. Larger price quoted after Planner came to the house; I did not accept until the very next morning which included signing forms. Today April 24th, called to check status and project was cancelled, reason unknown as I did sign forms. I will go hammer the door modeling back in place while I check on another contractor. In January, Power Home Remodeling quoted $6,000+ for a brand new window, screens and installation. After 4 months of the run around, they finally showed to do the work, and by the end, cracked the surrounding wall in three different places. The project manager, John, said "if the window looked good I bet you wouldn't be complaining". I will never recommend this company. They were given the chance to fix the problems, like the horrible caulking, ripped screens, large cracks around window, and used trim they decided to recycle from someone else's home/business and charge me full price for, yet again have left my home and window in worse shape than when they arrived. It is very obvious they are good at selling a product but not installation. 0/10 do not recommend this company. read more

I had all of the windows in my house replaced by Power and the entire experience was great. From start to finish, everyone who came to my home on behalf of Power was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Special kudos to the installation crew. They were neat and they worked fast and with precision. Within several hours they installed 30+ new windows and a new sliding glass door with blinds inside the glass. When they left they took up the drop cloths, cleaned up around the property and left everything as they found it. It was a pleasure working with Power on this project. read more

Everyone was great. All appointments were on time, work was fast and efficient, crews were polite and professional.

It's been about four years since PHR replaced my roof. The four main reasons that I went with them in spite of the fact that they cost more than any other roofing company: 1) they'd be in & out in one day, 2) they guaranteed they wouldn't leave any debris (screws on the driveway, etc), 3) it came with a lifetime guarantee and 4) the salesmen wouldn't leave my home. My roof is leaking and leaving visible water damage down my wall, so in theory I should be grateful for the lifetime warranty. They had Marcus come assess and he was very upfront that there were areas not installed correctly and that pieces of wood felt soft and would also need replaced. He was kind and apologetic. He said that after that, they could come inside and repair the drywall damage. Unfortunately they sent Dylan to do the job. He showed my boyfriend a picture of our address, but someone else's house. Dylan was sure he was sent to fix drywall divots in our garage, NOT a roof. Dylan left saying that it was such a big project he needed PHR to schedule a different day. I really think they have mixed us up with someone else. Then when he came on the next appointment, he was determined to assess the wrong side of the house and came back saying it was probably HVAC issues causing a roof leak. So, pretty much, PHR will do everything they can to delay honoring their lifetime warranty, if at all. You can see from my photos, there's no way this is HVAC related. A lovely Caitlin tried taking my call yesterday. I fear her hands are tied as she is also asking me to hire HVAC professionals to submit a report that HVAC issues didn't cause this (because then they wouldn't have to honor their lifetime guarantee). Anyone with common sense can see that this is a standard roof leak. I have been trying to get something done about this since Feb. 14th. They now have someone coming on the May 18th to reassess Marcus' original assessment. 5/18: I paid for an HVAC specialist to determine if our roof leak could be related. It is not related. PHR sent Dylan even though I asked them not to. He called an hour before our estimated arrival time to let us know that we're going to have to sign something saying that we agree to put our ceiling tiles back up ourselves if he takes them down and finds that our water damage isn't PHR's fault. When I mentioned that Marcus already admitted this was their fault, Dylan was incredibly unprofessional in his response and definitely threw Marcus under the bus. We all felt like we were being yelled at. He arrived 2hrs after our designated appointment time. When my boyfriend asked if Dylan had looked at the right side of the house, Dylan said he only looked at the left because that's what his paper said to do. F-bombs were dropped. Dylan walked out after about two minutes and no reassessment. So Dylan has come twice and still hasn't looked at the side of the house that has visible damage. I will update this review as this situation unfolds. 6/17/22 Marcus eventually came back and backtracked his original assessment. Though he was much nicer about it. I still have no idea what created this damage, but I asked my contractor to repair the drywall. I guess time will tell if evidence of new leak damage unfolds! All in all, I'm thankful I have a roof, but have really not enjoyed interacting with this company. read more

Solicitor came by. Nice enough kid. But lots of probing questions about my schedule. Uncomfortable way to approach customers- by imposing on them. read more

I was really hoping not to write a review like this but at this point I don't have any other option other than a legal route. When my husband and I were shopping for new windows we picked Power over 2 other companies that came out, This was due to the quality of the product, the promise of satisfaction and the statement that "You don't pay until you are totally satisfied", "We stand behind our product and workmanship". We actually paid about 3 thousand dollars more than the other bids by going with Power due to their statement of standing behind their product. On to the story, The windows were initially installed in June 2022. When I did my walkthrough once the installation was complete I noticed that out of 14 windows 10 of the windows (20 sashes) were in horrible condition to the point they should have never passed quality control. Just to mention a few, the issues included the silicone seam in the split and lumpy, silicone in between the glass of the pains, scratches in the pains themselves. When I told the installers I was not happy with the windows I was pressured and bullied, "possibly because I am a woman" to sign off on the installation form because they had to leave. They also said that the project manager would take care of all issues. Once the manager got there he noted the issues, and placed a reorder. Well that was what I was told but not what actually happened. Two weeks later Power had a few, not all, of the replacements ready to install, however before any could be installed we noticed that these sashes were in worse condition then the ones already in. The project manager again stated that he had reordered the sashes. My husband and I patiently waited but there was no word from the company or the project manager until September 2022. I was told then that there was a manufacturer delay due to a contractual break between the window manufacturer and Power. A week after that communication Power contacted me to let me know only 6 sashes were ordered out of the 20 discussed, and the project manager we had been working with had been terminated. On October 29, 2022 Power showed up with 4 sashes not the 6 they promised and not the 20 originally discussed. The Power representative that came out was very nice and noted the rest of the issues again with the other windows, we were quoted 12-15 months for replacements. In January 2023 we were contacted and told our sashes were coming in; however, the appointment to install was moved out 2 times before finally coming out in March 2023. During the March Install they replaced 1 sash. Now in July of 2023, over 1 year after the initial install we still do not have the windows we were promised with Power's customer satisfaction guarantee. We are still waiting on 3 sashes from original order and now we have 2 more that need to be replaced completely as well as the screens. We were told that these two windows looked to be out of frame alignment, and after removal and reinstallation the window frame and screens were found to be warped from excessive heat/sun after only 1 year??? REALLY? Did I mention that my windows, although never finished, are going through the warranty department to be replaced? Since this was a new install with issues from the get go I would think as a customer I wouldn't have to wait in the queue for warranty work. I was soarly incorrect. Power's ONLY Saving Grace would be Jason and Ben, the last 2 employees to work on the windows. Other than those two, Power does not care about their customers, their products or warranty once they have money in hand. In one year I have had 4 main points of contact with Power. The first one was fired and the second 2 have mysteriously left the company. Everyone I talked to is gone and communication from power is non-existent. In one of the most recent conversations I was lucky to actually have with Power I was told, would not be covered unless it was a noticeable issue from at least 6 feet away. I do not think we are being nit picky in any way, We actually told Power that we were not worried at all about defects to the windows in the basement and or garage and wanted to focus mainly on the main house that are seen and looked through on a daily basis. I just want what was promised, and issues with the windows can be seen from at least 10 feet as verified by two Power Employees. Now we are 1 year into these windows and going to be waiting yet another year and a half to get the "Quality" product we were promised and paid for. We want Power to stand behind their product as promised. We are in the process of retaining legal counsel and invite others that have had similar issues with PHR to join a possible multiple party lawsuit by contacting tonysmirh743@gmail.com read more

Transparent, on schedule, no surprise costs, quality work and great warranty. What more can you ask for?

I am a relatively new homeowner in the area. So not just cost-sensitive but also quality sensitive. From the initial visit through installation the entire team has been professional and responsible. So, with all that said, I'm happy that they can include me as a satisfied customer. read more

We scheduled to have our windows replaced by Power, and their sales team was really quite good. There was low pressure, and it was clear that the salesman wanted us to make a decision that was best for us, instead of pressuring us to make a sale. Second, the turn-around time for getting our windows was very quick. Though they did not make them from scratch especially for our windows, the windows fit well. The installation crew was very competent at installing windows, but was not the most careful:arriving several hours late, as well as damaging a tree and leaving some trash around. Thankfully, their customer service and inspection team was both responsive and willing to take responsibility, so the damage was taken care of appropriately. read more

How many times can you tell someone... ENOUGH! I told the sales rep I had to get up early and she just kept insisting on spinning her tale. VERY pushy sales tactics. They are the most expensive contractors out there, and after seeing their reviews, I wont be getting anything from them. read more

Nice kid came over and asked if they could give me a free estimate on my roof. I told him, "I'm absolutely not replacing the roof this year but plan to do it next year." He said, "No problem - the estimate will be good for a year." I thought, hey why not? Kid told me someone from the company would call to confirm it. When the guy called that was coming to do the estimate, he said he would be coming in to go over options - I told him we could absolutely sit outside on the patio where there is a table and chairs in the shade. He said, "We're not able to give you an estimate if we don't come into your house." I told him none of the other estimates I have gotten came into the house, and the table outside is plenty comfortable. He told me again, if I'm not coming into the house I'm not coming. Then he implied that I should have a man with me to help me make important financial decisions. Are you freaking kidding me? read more

I can only speak to my experience with their salesperson. They were going door to door in my neighborhood and chose to ignore my no soliciting sign next to my doorbell. Since I was looking to replace my windows, I went ahead and scheduled an estimate. Oh, I should mention that their door-to-door person lied and told me my neighbor was getting work done by them (I trust my neighbor which is why I went ahead and scheduled the estimate). The salesperson comes by at 5:30pm that day. Very nice individual. He proceeded to spend 30 minutes trying to sell the company (most of the companies do this). He then proceeded to measure my windows and started "identifying" issues that no other company (or my neighbor who runs his own construction company) found or saw. After measuring, we were at the 6:45pm mark. He then proceeded with the window demo test (even though I had told him I didn't need it since I've gone through 6-7 of them already). At the 7:00pm mark, he gave us the estimate (which was neither high or low). I explained to him that I have a process where I always like to do my own research and that I never make a decision the day of (high pressure sales tactics do not work on me). Multiple times, he would tell me that he'll give me time to talk it over and he'd leave and go sit in his car leaving his stuff all over my dining table. This was in the middle of dinner time when my family was trying to eat dinner (it was a school night). Each time he'd come back and tell me he was able to get me a deal and would knock off an additional $5-800. I'd then repeat that I will not make a decision tonight and he started with the high pressure tactics of pushing me to sign now. He questioned my process of why I like to do my own research on a company. He tried to push me to sign telling me Virginia has a 3 day cancellation policy. He tried a few other things and it was almost 8:15pm before I was finally able to get him to leave. I understand that it's their job to make sales but when a customer is clearly telling you that they will not make a decision right there, it's a huge red flag when they won't take that as an answer. The estimate was fairly reasonable but because of their sales tactics (and the feeling I was getting that they did not want me to research the company) combined with their initial sales person's blatant lie about my neighbor getting work, I'm not only passing on them, but I made sure and let all my neighbors and friends know about this company. I did speak to my neighbor afterwards and he laughed and said he's never used them and would never use them. Hard pass. EDIT: In response to the response, I completely understand about being thorough with the estimate and I've gone through plenty of estimates to know the process. The issue is when the customer clearly states that they won't decide on that day, the continued high pressure sales tactics are completely unacceptable. Once I stated that I don't make decisions on the day of, the estimator should respect that. My neighbor 3 doors down had a very similar experience. read more
