Apparently they are unfamiliar with the fact that they are on Groupon so I had to call back when someone from the company was in the office to get on the schedule. They had availability for two weeks later. I wasn't in a rush so I don't mind the wait. I wasn't scheduled for the 12-4 time window. On the day of I had a work commitment that came up last minute. They were very accommodating when I called so I was pushed further back on the timeslot till after 3 PM so I could be home for the service. The technician Isaiah arrived and informed me what he was going to do. Afterwards he sent me a detailed report with photographs of my gutter system. Thankfully, everything looked good and I did not require any additional services after the cleaning and tuneup.

For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. Today was the first day of a three day roof replacement, including solar panel detachment and…read morereattachment by Panda Exteriors and I've already run into deceptive and unethical sales practices, and worse. 1) We were told by the salesman, and shown pictures, of several sheets of plywood that supposedly contained black mold. This is a very serious health situation that was not adequately conveyed to the Project Manager. There was nothing in his specs that addressed identifying the sheets with black mold and removing them since that supposedly can't be seem on the exterior of the plywood according to the PM. The salesperson identified 5+ sheets of plywood that would cost an additional $125 per sheet. 2) I was told by the installation coordinator within Panda that all of my questions would be answered by the PM BEFORE the project was started, it was not. The salespeople literally left the PM in the lurch because he was not able to answer most of my questions. 3) As of today, I've stopped the project until my questions could be answered. 4) The salesperson told us that that our 50 solar panels would be detached Day 1, the roof installed Day 2, and the panels reinstalled Day 3. Today we found out that the reattachment would not occur till the following week. This was NEVER mentioned by the salesperson or in the prior to construction "what to expect" email. 5) We were told by sales that once the panels were detached they would be "stored" till after the new roof was installed. Apparently Panda has a different understanding of the word "stored" than most people. The panels were stacked in our backyard. Again, another deceptive sales practice. Apparently stacking the panels in the yard is a standard practice but Panda made that claim to ensure a sale. 6) The sales person told us the detachment and reattachment of the panels was conducted within their company so that there was in essence only "one throat to choke" if there was a problem. That was yet another lie as the folks who did that today were an LLC. This was a specific point we had with the salesperson because there was another roof replacement company 4000K cheaper that had solar panels detached and reattached by a third party. Well that is in essence what Panda does but they claim the solar people are part of their company. 6) And finally, I was told that I would be contacted today by one of the owners, Scott Tucker, who would address all of my concerns and that never happened as of 6:00 tonight, thus the reason for my "hold" on the roof shingle rip off and new shingle installation. We are what was called a "Golden Pledge" at a cost of $44,000 with one plywood sheet included. Any other sheets would cost $125 per sheet. This is the way Panda Exteriors treat it'S highest paying roof replacement customers. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER RESEARCH ON THEM.

Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform.
