From start to finish, the experience was outstanding! Arif was extremely professional and thorough. On repair day, Fernando and his crew were prompt, arriving at 8:30 AM just as agreed. They repaired the damaged flashing properly and corrected the siding installation the right way. THEIR WORK IS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS! Not only was the crew professional, but they cleaned up completely after themselves and finished on time just as promised. Due to the nature of what needed to be fixed, insurance wasn't going to cover it, and their technician was charging... well, a lot. I have seen the name Calderon Contractors for years, and roofing is one of the many things they do. So I went ahead and reached out, using the quote service here on Yelp. Elmer, the owner, reached out relatively quickly. I didn't get to meet him, but he was my main point of contact. First visit to my house was from a guy named Hector, and was very kind, professional, and I described what the issue was and he had a look for himself. After his visit, it wasn't long before Elmer reached out with a quote, and we moved forward. Hector ended up being the one to do all the work, and it was efficient. As far as I can tell, the leak is sealed and I can paint whenever I'm ready. Thank you Elmer, Hector, and the rest of the Calderon Contractors staff!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED -- THINK TWICE BEFORE HIRING HOME GENIUS…read more I am beyond frustrated, angry, and disappointed with Home Genius. I am writing this review because I feel other homeowners need to know about my experience before trusting this company with one of the most important parts of their home. Home Genius completely replaced my roof in April 2025. I trusted this company, paid them to do the job, and expected them to stand behind their work and warranty. Unfortunately, that trust has been seriously damaged. It has barely been over a year, and I now have an issue with my roof. I contacted Home Genius on July 27, 2026 to report the damage and request that someone come out and inspect it. Since then, it has been an absolute nightmare. I have made multiple calls and repeated follow-ups, only to be sent around in circles trying to get someone to actually address the problem. I should NOT have to beg a company to inspect a roof that THEY replaced just over a year ago. Today is August 27, 2026, and I am STILL waiting for someone to have the basic decency to call me back and properly follow up on my complaint. This is completely unacceptable. What makes this experience even more infuriating is how different the customer service was when they wanted my business. They were quick to contact me, quick to sell me a new roof, and quick to get the contract signed. But once there is a problem and I need them to stand behind their work, suddenly getting a response becomes nearly impossible. That is not what I consider customer service. That is not what I consider standing behind your work. I am not asking them to blindly approve a warranty claim. I am asking for something extremely basic: RESPOND TO YOUR CUSTOMER, SEND SOMEONE TO INSPECT THE ROOF, AND ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. If the company believes the damage is not covered under the warranty, then have the professionalism to inspect it and explain that decision. Ignoring the customer is NOT an acceptable way to handle a warranty concern. A company should be judged not only by how well it sells its services, but by how it treats customers AFTER it has received their money. Unfortunately, my experience after the sale has been extremely disappointing. I trusted Home Genius with my home and my money. Now I am left chasing them for answers about a roof they installed only about a year ago. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to formally document my experience and my concerns regarding the lack of follow-through and communication surrounding my warranty issue. I am also sharing this review to warn other homeowners: DO YOUR RESEARCH. DO NOT BASE YOUR DECISION SOLELY ON HOW PROFESSIONAL AND RESPONSIVE A COMPANY SEEMS BEFORE YOU SIGN THE CONTRACT. Find out how they handle customers when something goes wrong AFTER the job is completed. Because in my experience, Home Genius has been extremely responsive when they wanted my business and extremely difficult to reach when I needed them to stand behind their work. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. I expected better from a company trusted to replace someone's roof. Home Genius -- I paid you to replace my roof. I should not have to spend weeks chasing you just to get someone to acknowledge a problem. Pick up the phone, inspect the roof, address the issue, and stand behind the warranty you promised. I would not recommend this company based on my experience with their post-installation customer service and warranty follow-through.

My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. Their price is VERY reasonable, and the communication through Yelp was professional and transparent. It is rare to find a contractor who cares this much about the details. If you want a crew that is honest, skilled, and delivers a beautiful finish, call Zach. 1000% recommendation!
