I've been a longtime listener of Power 106 and have even won tickets a few times before, so I normally wouldn't leave a complaint. I really enjoy the station overall. I was caller number 10 today 5/1/2026 for the Katt Williams ticket giveaway, but the interaction with the man answering the phone lines for DJ E-Man felt pretty rude. When I got through, I was told I didn't sound excited enough. I explained that I was in the car and my baby was sleeping, so I couldn't be loud, but instead of understanding, they hung up and immediately moved on to the next caller. What made it more frustrating is that the next caller didn't sound overly excited either just speaking normally and still got through. That inconsistency didn't feel fair. Again, this isn't a complaint about Power 106 as a whole because I've always enjoyed listening and participating. I just think this particular interaction could have been handled with a bit more understanding and professionalism. read more

I stopped listening to Power for a while from 2023-2025 and been listening to Real 92.3, KDAY, 102.3 KJLH and The Wave but since the throwbacks came into mix, I've been listening to five stations depending on my mood. read more

This stations needs to play more old school hip hop and rap like back in the day. This hasn't play anything decent since the 90's and 2000's. Since Felli Fell left and they dropped the throwbacks, I find myself listening less. I used to listen to it because this station has played a major role in my growing up and boy this station has been through so many phases since its inception in 1986. I was excited to win tickets! I went to the office to pick them up. But I had a bad experience with some guy called Kris in receptionist area he had some weird hair bun. I didn't think I would have a problem. I went with my mom to pick up tickets because I was stoked I won! But when my mom went to the restroom. This guy was trying to have a conversation with me in a flirty weird creepy way. He definitely didn't seem to know what he was doing. Before we walked up to the front he was distracted on his phone. The station needs to have better people who are professional at the front desk. I don't think I'll participate on Power 106 station to pick up tickets anymore after my experience. I felt very disturbed and uncomfortable. I love listening to Power 106! but if you have people like this? I rather not support the station. This review is solely based on interactions I've had with the Power 106 trucks at different events. This one is particularly about the event at LA Bacon Fest. During the L.A. Bacon Festival, Power 106 TORE IT UP! Teddy, was so funny with all his shout outs, and the music was truly bumpin'! What would've been a very chill food fest, turned into a crazy energy packed "power" house with dancing, head bouncing, toe tapping, cheering, and dance competitions! The DJ changed the music often enough so that people didn't get bored, and the crowd was HUGE!!! Everyone loved it! Forget all the other music trucks out there! Even if you're not a hip hop fan, you'll be sure to find the life of the party around the Power 106 truck! read more

First I would like to say thank you to power 106 for my Disneyland tickets and $1000. I'm truly grateful and blessed. I went to the station about two days ago to pick up my tickets and the receptionist at the window was very, very rude! I didn't even get a"WELCOME TO POWER 106" NOTHING!!!! Because I commute in the mornings, I've always listened to what I like to call the trifecta of mainstream morning radio: Ryan Seacrest, Carson Daly, and Big Boy. What makes all three of these radio hosts so great isn't really that they're funny, but there's a kindness in their voices that make you really like them. Big Boy's Neighborhood was an excellent mix of humor, news, and music. I listened to him for well over a decade and have heard him make jokes, get choked up after 9/11, refuse to play R. Kelly and Chris Brown's music during his show after their debacles...he just seemed like a very genuine person who loved doing radio. The Cruz Show is the absolute opposite of all of this. I'm sure it's not a new opinion, but this morning really grated my nerves. First, they claimed they were going to play Dr. Dre's new album in its entirety, back-to-back. Why then, did I only hear 45 seconds of it and then all his old hits from the 90s? Second, they had some stupid contest where listeners had to count how many times a recording of Dr. Dre's voice was played and whoever guessed the right number won $1,000. Fair enough. Why then, did these idiots COUNT each time they played the voice? Doesn't that dismiss the entire point of letting listeners count themselves? Finally, and I don't know the other hosts' names, but the female mentioned her niece's or cousin's 18th birthday, and the comments that followed were downright disgusting. The men on the show were like, "Oh 18 years old, she's legal! Yeeeaaah Madison give me a call!" and one of them even said something about pulling down her pants. How this stupid woman didn't get mad at these bozos is beyond me for being so inappropriate and gross. Then again, these people are super low class. Did they graduate from high school? Probably not. Did they attend college at some point? Maybe a class or two at Valley College? Who knows. They're ghetto and I hate that they're what represents Power 106 now. read more

Super fun times at this place. I was scratching here a few months back with Live Radio on the wake up show with Sway, Tech and Dj Revolution. Super awesome guys. The sessions at this place are hella fun. Once the elevator door opens, and you walk down that hall, automatically your heart starts to pound. No matter how much practice youve had, you always get nervous when the realization of a live radio feed with your stuff is going to be aired and that comes with judgements, reviews, and opinions both by the people there, and those listening on the outside. Maybe it's because I'm getting older and have completely given up on the mainstream media entirely (haven't listened to modern mainstream media [went the indie route] for almost 5 years now) but there is just something about this station in where it has lost its touch. I remembered when this station used to play a whole lot of Hip Hop/Rap content. Now, they seem to have gone more along the Pop route to try to cater to a different crowd. I wouldn't think that it would be Power 106's fault for going down that route neither because today's MAINSTREAM rap is atrocious and I will never understand why people support it or why people say it sucks yet they listen to it anyways because they think they don't have any alternatives. It IS possible to listen to some good rap made my modern artists; you just have to get off your lazy bums and search for it yourself because you sure as hell won't find them in any mainstream radio station. Power 106, it is safe to say that you have seen better days. You have sold out to a different crowd and I can't respect a radio station that has sold out. It is time for me to move on as I have given up on FM completely and will now switch to a mobile phone from now on. UPDATE 1/24/16: I kept to my promise since the review. I have not once touched the FM dial since the review and have been using my phone since. I don't miss the way FM radio chopped and censored songs, I don't miss listening to DJ's, I don't miss commercials, and best of all I don't miss listening to the same content over and over and over again. The last time I wrote a review was about a year ago when I wn tickets and went to pick the them and found out Krystal the receptionist girl wasn't working there anymore. I have been winning tickets for years and honestly she was the best one you guys have ever had in the front. Very friendly, and always on top of her information and sending e-mails. The front area has become a joke with so any different people not giving the right information or being so unorganized, I always ask to speak to Fernando who seems to be the one to keep it all together up there, PLEASE! Having so many different people at the front who have no clue what they are doing, Vanessa is always on her phone and filming herself and has had me wait for tickets for 1hr and has been extremely rude on many occasions, the guy (I don't know his name) always puts me on hold for mins and is also extremely rude on the phone and in person. if they don't want to be up there get someone who does and can compare to the service the krystal girl gave. I really hope you guys take this feedback seriously because it is giving you guys a bad name and these people are representing your brand. and making it a hassle for winner to get information on ticket pick up and actually picking up tickets. Remember when Jay Thomas was the featured DJ on Power 106? If you do, then your @$$ must be old like me. My generation has grown up along with Power. I still remember when it was a Top 40 station. When they switched to House in the Richard Humpty Vizzion days. Reggaeton briefly, then R&B, and on to becoming a strictly mainstream hip hop station that it is today. It's one of my guilty pleasures. As much as I don't fancy mainstream hip hop, I catch myself flipping over to the 105.9 dial. Power is one of the reasons why I download 50 cent, Jay-Z, Snoop, Dr. Dre into my ipod. It's the reason I sing along to club bangers when I'm hammered at the clubs. It's the reason I can sing "In Da Club" along with my 12 year old cousin. It's the reason why I can still consider myself hip enough to understand the current day slang, jargon, and lingo the youngsters use. Not much a morning radio person during my commute to work. But when I need a laugh or two, Big Boy in the morning is a must for me. Tatoo is annoying but the likes of Luscious Liz and Eman on it's morning show makes listening well worth it from time to time. You have to admit Big Boy's phone taps in the early days were super hilarious!!! You also have to thank acts like the Baka Boys for introducing Tito to the world. Yes his jokes has gotten old but that dude was funny when he first came out. Power also brought you the Ikky freaky mix or the top 4 @ 4 to get you through your commute. You have to give it up to Power. They have endured all the changes in radio. They have assisted in bridging the gap between the listeners approaching our 30's to the young kids just barely understanding what music really is. Their format might not be the ideal music selection for me but my hat goes up to them for consistently providing good entertainment to our ears. Their playlist may be limited to 50 songs but it's the same songs stuck in your head for days. Can't hate on that! Power is a fixture in the LA scene. read more

Seriously, one word is necessary, iPod.. (or mp3 player for that matter). All they do is play the same shit over and over. You could set a play list on a computer and loop it and that is what they do. I really am disappointed with radio now and days and I am grateful that I have a good selection of mp3s so I am not forced to listen to their repeated garbage. Everything from their loud obnoxious commercials selling bail bonds (what kind of listeners do they think they have?) to Nissans with the rapid talk with the legal disclosures. I don't like the morning show because they seem to talk too much. If you need some energy for that commute or take out your road rage this station has rap. The music is mostly hip hop and R&B. They play the same songs so often you'll be able to fake psychic powers. This is a good parallel to the top 40 station (getting too close to be an alternative). read more

I don't think they have any of the tickets they claim to have. I've been calling religiously to win the BET tickets for 6/22. Today as soon as the music started I called-phone rang a male picked up he phone and said hello and then immediately hung up on me. I called right back and went to an automated message that sounded like "you won" then the line was discounted on their end yet again. Then no mention after that of who won. Smh. My favorite thing about Power 106 is listening to it on the drive to work. Big boy is hilarious. Especially when he crank calls people!! The music is about the same that they'd play on 102.7 however on a list of 1-5, I would place Power 106 as number five on the list... with one being the best.
