Station had great programming but it has gone downhill. Jen and Grant morning show is fun and informative. They need Carl Jackson back on the air. His show was energized and brought interesting topics to listeners. Charlie Kirk is super. And welcome back Dennis Prager in June. read more

The hosts are informative and lively. I learn plenty by listening, however, I keep in mind that the bottom line is they are hired for entertainment purposes, so a lot of what they say is opinion. I particularly like Sebastian Gorka. He's quite intelligent and I think that most of what he says in right on the money. If you want to be informed or even made angry, listen to these radio hosts. Variety of different topics. Pretty... pretty good.

I recently came acrossed am 870 by accident. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of shows and topics that they covered. But then today I hear Michael Medved's show "conspiracy day"... As if. He had a listener call in about the topic of geoengineering. He was so quick to jump to ad hominem attacks. Not even giving his listener the time to speak he discounted what he said as if nobody else understands the truth. The Arrogance Michael Medved displayed showed me the true nature behind his show. I will never listen to it again. Nor will I listen to the station because of it. He just the listeners claim which was a fact. The United States government admits to geoengineering to reflect sunlight under the guise of combating global warming. Which if Michael Medved looked into it he would see that this is something that our government has programs already set up through the EPA. Which was funded by the Environmental Protection Act. Michael you kept asking the listener who are they who are they where Michael they are The United States Air Force. Michael ad hominem attacks are not meditative insight. They are not philosophical inquiry. It is not scientific advancement. It is not a fact, or validation it is not a increase to a objective or subjective mental advancement. Ad hominem will only ever be insults lies and bias. Brian Whitman's lack of talent is only surpassed by his mediocrity and ignorance. During his morning diatribes, the number of times he stammers and says uh leads one to believe he is unable to speak in full sentences. Lose the lame voice overs - they are not that funny or that good. read more

I only listen to 870 because of Dennis Prager. His show is outstanding, although I personally don't like his opinions, disguised as fact, about success, marriage etc (e.g., "only the best men marry"). It's not so much that I don't agree - it's that he overstates them and it's sort of demoralizing. He has segments dedicated to relationship advice, happiness, etc., which I find to be a waste of time, as the current political scene is so much more important - and in that, he excels. But one of the undercurrents of his show is that if you're not married you're unhappy (and likely a sub-par individual) and unhappy people cause bad things to happen. Despite that minor quibble, I'm an avid listener. The other thing I wanted to mention is the morning show with Brian Whitman, and Jen what's-her-name. This woman is held up on a pedestal by Whitman, and constantly fussed over and flattered by him (we hear how intelligent she supposedly is, ad nauseum) and she likewise adores him, giggling as she does so. They both get a lot of mileage out of the L-word, constantly declaring that they love each other, and regularly work each other up to the point that they're in hysterics, laughing at things that, most likely, no one else is. Whitman also is excessively self-deprecating, and often tells of how he has problems with anxiety or some such, and frequently chokes up or even begins to cry over some minor issue that he may be relating. That's embarrassing. The end result of all this, is a show that just doesn't have any real substance to it; these two people yammer on and on but you don't learn anything new, or gain real insight into anything. Of all the times I've listened to their show, I have come away thinking "what did I just listen to?". I guess it's some sort of cookie-cutter, male-female "talk" formula. I personally don't like Bill Handel at all (same time slot, different station), but if I move the dial over to him, I find that he says more things regarding politics / current events in 10 minutes than these two people do, in their entire show. Again - it is amazing how you can walk away from their show and not even remember what you heard. That's how devoid of substance they are. read more
