This has been my go-to place for my glasses since moving to Powell. Although I get free eye care from the VA, their choices are limited. I like RayBan, and they have done right by me. No issues, and I was treated like a valued customer. You can't go wrong here! read more

Both my son and I had our eye examined last week. My son even got fitted for contacts. We each selected really nice glasses with the help of their Optician. Always had a great experience with Dr Webster. I could probably go to Costco or somewhere else and pay less but why would I? Powell Vision has been taking care of my eyesight for at least 10 years and I have zero complaints. As I enter my 40's I trust Dr Webster and his team to keep me from doing that thing where you hold everything out at arms length to read it... highly recommended! read more

I used to go to that mall store to get my eyes checked but after our insurance changed and the last doc there didn't exactly help me with what was going on with my eyes I decided to come here. They accept my insurance and Dr. Webster did a far better exam of my eyes than I have had in I don't know when! One eye was in serious pain from some damage and I was a happy camper when he put those drops in it to numb the eye. I had to have a contact lens put in to help with what's wrong and it's the first time I've ever been able to have one in without my wanting to claw my eyes out (although taking out still hurts me I have hope that one day I may be able to wear them). He diagnosed what's wrong with the old peepers and I am now on a routine to help them heal. When it's time to get an exam to see how "well" I can see I will be coming right here. Not overly thrilled with their eyeglass selection and they are not a 1 hour place so I may have to take the scrip elsewhere. But that's OK too! read more

In the middle of the Ohio stay at home order and being an essential individual, I found myself in a precarious situation with my daily wear spectacles in dire need of repair. I had never been to this establishment but it is located in Powell and as a member of the Powell Chamber of Commerce myself, we patronize our own. I received the highest level of service I've ever received and have been wearing glasses since I was 6 years old. I have seen Dr. Theis for a few years now and she truly has been wonderful. I use to live in Powell and came here out of convenience but I've moved over half an hour away and still make an effort to return to see Dr. Theis. I appreciate all that she's done and all the enthusiasm she brings to her practice. However, this past visit will be my last as I will be looking for a new optometry office because unfortunately, not all staff members at this office carry themselves with the same level of professionalism, civility, and etiquette as Dr. Theis. Every time that I have sat down with a staff member to purchase contacts/glasses/drops they constantly upsell and pressure you into buying add-ons. A simple "no thank you" is never enough. No, they will feed you ridiculous story after story about how the last person who said no almost crashed and killed four families while driving across the giant eagle parking lot all because they didn't opt-in for anti-reflective lenses. I understand the desire to want to educate your clients to make sure they are making well informed decisions but there is a very thick line between educating a client and harassing them and using pathos as modes of persuasion. What provoked me to write this review this time around is my most recent encounter with Becky, the office manager. A few days after my annual eye exam I saw my receipt for the exam and noticed a $39 charge for an unknown service. I called in and was informed that it was for a voluntary add-on service--optomap an alternative to having your eyes dilated. I told them that I never volunteered/consented to having this service but they were adamant that they would never perform the service unless I signed the consent form for the service. Understandably so, I asked if I could see the document where I signed off for the service because to my recollection, I did no such thing but of course I just wanted to see it with my own eyes just to be sure. To my surprise, the office manager Becky told me that she couldn't produce the document where I gave my consent because "[they] always throw it away immediately after...since there's no need to keep it". How convenient! (I'm sure that has to be illegal due to compliance medical record retention requirements) Becky then proceeded to condescendingly interrogate me as to how I failed to question the service at the time while in the office/why I didn't say something at the time of payment acting completely baffled as to how such a thing could pass my mind. Absolutely failing to acknowledge and consider the plausibility that maybe, just maybe, a human error was made by her staff. End result: Instead of offering an apology for the situation/discarded document, Becky offered a refund for the service while attempting to get the last word in by reiterating that it was just a lapse in my memory as opposed to one of her employees but "to make [me] happy, [she'll] go ahead and make the refund". read more

I went here years ago and after taking my son again recently I remembered why I stopped going. The same person who registered my son at the front desk also took him back and did the computer exam which checks his prescription. She also did the eye chart. After that the doctor came in and spent less than seven minutes with him even though he ended up needing glasses for the first time. She came across as ingenuine and condescending when I attempted to ask a few questions. She then escorted us to the frame area. We were shown a variety of frames without regard to which ones would be covered by my insurance- when I asked about this the employee said "well I didn't bring out any $500 frames!" I was charged for service that I hadn't agreed to and in the end walked out with a hefty bill and a feeling of being very dissatisfied with the care my son had received. read more

My daughter and I have been going to Powell Vision Center for years and have seen Dr. Theis. She is wonderful, always professional. She always takes the time to explain things. The staff is very nice and helpful when picking out glasses for you. They have a great selection of glasses and they know what looks good on you. read more

Had a great experience! Been other offices for my eye care over the years, but this place was great. I had a medical issue with my eye, they got me right in the same day to have it looked at. Within a few days I was feeling better and could go back to wearing my contacts. I was impressed with the eyeglass selection and their ability to make my glasses the same day (I didn't have a nice pair and couldn't wear my contacts due to my infection) I will keep coming back and made an appointment for my kids. read more

Staff is fine and helpful when picking out glasses. After giving dr Theiss multiple chances, she was continuously rude, condescending and childish. I'm sure her skills are fine, but I will be taking my business elsewhere where I can be treated professionally. During one visit, after explaining my issues with contacts, she replies word-for-word "well, it's probably all that makeup you have caked on." I will not be retuning. read more

I am so pleased with the service I received at Powell Vision Center. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and made me feel at ease. I have never had much luck wearing contact lenses and Dr. Theis went above and beyond making sure I had a pair that would work for me. Also, she took her time with me and explained each part of the exam. I never felt rushed, even when choosing new frames. I have been a patient at Powell Vision Center for about 4 years. Dr. David Webster is a great eye doctor. He spends time to get to know his patients and is very personable. You can tell he is passionate about doing a good job and providing his patients with a great experience. Their facility is really nice and it has an upscale, warm, inviting atmosphere. The receptionists are polite and professional as well. Most impressive was the technology. I have been to other eye doctors and this place seems to have the most cutting edge technology, which also provides for a more comfortable experience. I highly recommend this place. read more

This vision center was listed as a provider for Anthem Blue View insurance. My co-pay through my insurance is $10. The exam was professional and thorough. However I was surprised when checking out to find that I had an extra $87 charge on my invoice for a Contact Lens exam. The sales person said the charge was standard and pretty common. I wish I would have been told about the extra costs when coming in as a new patient with insurance. I had budgeted for my lens' and the $10 exam fee not expecting extra fees. In the past i've paid less than $100 for an eye exam with no insurance. Will not return for my next exam read more

The Doctors are exceptional !! However, certain staff member will leave you feeling less than a person whether it is for billing and/or a medical condition. This is my opinion. read more
