Went to the Tire Department for new golf cart batteries. I still had the connecting cables on my batteries. Asked for help removing a 9/16" nut. Ran into one of the rudest encounters in multiple years. Had to take all 6 old batteries back out of the store. Remove the connecting cables (which took 1 minute) and then reload the 6 batteries back in the store for the core refund. I dealt with the same Costco associate on the core refund. It is not my doing that each battery has to be entered separately. I was treated with rudeness again today in processing the core refund. The batteries may be cheaper in price than an auto parts store but whoa, the rudeness was not what I was expecting. read more

Purchased 4 Michelin tires rated at 45,000 miles at Costco warehouse tire center. One tier Failed catastrophically driving straight on the highway after 19,000 miles. The tires were rated for 45,000 miles. Costco Tire Center refused to replace the tires. I had to waste at least 10 hours of my time and went all the way to Costco corporate manager to get them to grudgingly replace the tire. Now after a little over 20,000 miles the tires are almost completely bald. They refused to honor any warranty. Wanted to charge me almost $900 to replace these tires. I am going to tire discounters for a better tire $100 cheaper and rated for 70,000. Suggest avoiding this place, like the plague. read more

I've been a member at Costco for several years. The Plain City location continues to be my favorite Costco location because it is always very clean and well organized, and the cashiers are friendly, fast, and efficient. Inflation is putting a squeeze on everyone's wallet regardless where you shop, but I have noticed that many prices at Costco have increased by 25% to 50% since the beginning of the pandemic. Shoppers must be savvy and pay close attention to the same items at traditional grocery stores and specialty stores. If you are watching every penny spent, like me, take a calculator along and calculate the per ounce price at Costco vs. the per ounce price at other stores. I have recently found sales at local grocery stores that beat Costco's per ounce price. It's disappointing to spend $60 for a Gold Star Membership or $120 for an Executive Membership and find the lower prices at the grocery store without buying a membership. Produce is oftentimes considerably more at Costco. I still like Costco, but I spend a fraction of what I spent pre pandemic because I have noticed a higher percentage increase in prices at Costco than other retailers. Hopefully the economy will improve and Costco's prices will go back down. Until then, I watch for sale items at several retailers and go to the place with the best deals. read more

I accidentally spilled the pack of cookies in my cart when I was going to self check-out, and she acted as if It was such an inconvenience to her and it was coming out of her paycheck, even though I apologized multiple times!!! I did not appreciate the way she treated me. She was condescending. When my friend ran back to get a new pack of cookies she glared and said "you need to pay!!!!" Updating to share some notes from my recent visits. Unfortunately the gluten-free bread we purchased ($9.99 for two loaves) was moldy. Of course they accepted the return and provided a refund no questions asked. We did pass by on a Saturday and both the parking lot and gas station were much more crowded (yet perhaps still less chaotic than other locations around Columbus). I love Costco FOREVER. I was also surprised that this location didn't have a Yelp yet! I've been here numerous times, but quit going because it's not close to me. I still come on occasion for particular food brands or certain items I can get nowhere else. This time, I came for new tires. The tire service is pretty great and I've used them before in Kentucky. They checked them just to make sure I needed new ones and I decided to buy some. It's much cheaper here than getting them at the dealership! They're really nice and helpful and look you in the eye. Everything is organized well in the store and I'm always able to find things since the layout is pretty much the same at any one you visit. Gas is always the cheapest here too! I hadn't had their food in years. I always like the pizza and the turkey melt. It dissuades me from ordering their food sometimes since they post the calorie count. Ha! Nice tactic there to make me eat healthy! Today, I got a hotdog and a churro with a cup of water. The hotdog was huge! And the churro is very long! It was all a good deal just under $3. Can't beat that price for lunch! The eating area was clean. At around 1-2pm on a Friday, I saw a few people eating on their own, like myself, moms with kids, and a few elderly couples. It wasn't busy or anything either. Bathrooms are awesome here too. Clean! And I love that I don't have to touch the sink! Parking is never awful unless you come after work. I found a spot easily! I'll have to take another trip up here just for a snack on another Friday. I'd love to reminisce and eat a slice of their pizza. read more

Recently visited this location around 3pm on Friday and it was surprisingly not too busy. I was able to get in and out quite quickly and didn't have to deal with any lines going in or at check out. All the cart handles are sanitized when they bring the carts in but be careful as some people return their carts in the "clean" cart area. The staff at the door provides masks if anyone does not have one. They have arrows on the ground in the walk in fridge area to try and keep people moving only in one direction since that area is fairly small therefore making it difficult to socially distance. I also visited the gas station at this location and they recently added a contactless card option on each of the pumps. It makes my overall gas pumping experience faster as I have previously had issues with the card machines not recognizing my membership since it is on the co-branded card. If you have the Costco branded Visa card, the contactless option is the way to go! read more

This Costco location is always very helpful and clean. The tire department has saved my life, the workers are continuously so kind, I want to know where they find these workers, keep up the good work GM!! I always appreciate the assorted, different products this location has compared to the other two Columbus locations!! You could go here for a date (because that's when you know), a quick trip with the fam and quick pick me ups, as we know, Costco has it all!! Costco in Plain City is *the* best Costco in I've visited so far! It is far more stocked than Easton and Polaris in terms of volume and variety -- including the most diverse selection of Asian foods and ingredients! On top of the selection, I recently had an AMAZING interaction with a Costco employee, Jack, where he went ABOVE AND BEYOND in helping my boyfriend and I when our truck's lock was frozen shut in Costco's parking lot and it was already 5 minutes past closing time. We had asked a few other employees beforehand and they didn't seem to want to help, however, thankfully Jack was within earshot of the conversation and quickly helped us solve the problem by helping us with the frozen lock! Jack also allowed us to stay inside the entrance area to stay warm. If it weren't for Jack, my boyfriend and I would've had to stay in the cold empty parking lot for AAA with no ETA given by AAA on when they would arrive to help due to the dropping temperatures. I come here as needed when I don't want to drive far to the Polaris or Easton location for small items like a baked chicken or present on my list for someone. The reason I'm coming here as "needed" is because I don't feel they have a huge selection to choose from at this location compared to the Polaris or Easton locations. The service is also not as great as you would see in Polaris and Easton. Literally if you want me to describe the service I'l sum it up. This week I was waiting to buy a baked chicken and the man saw three people patiently waiting to get a chicken and instead of putting the ones that just came right out of the oven onto a tray, he kept focusing on packaging it rather than getting the customer their chicken promptly for waiting so long. Finally, his co-worker comes out and notices what he is doing is wrong and tells him to please package the chickens and hand it to the customers promptly. This is why I would rather shop at Polaris, their customer service is better and your not waiting for someone to figure out you need something soon. Plus the selection is better at that store compared to this one. Therefore, I would rather drive farther for better service and selection of food. read more

I have used Costco gas in many places across the country and at this particular place It was clean and well attended with staff a available to help you in no matter what type of situation you may need. Costco in general has very good covid-19 practices in all their staff were masked as well. The quality of the gas is excellent especially for the price point that they ask for and if you need to use premium gas it's a really good value. I recommend using Costco not only for the quality of their goods and their gas but how they treat their staff and give them a livable wage with healthcare and benefits I always want to support a large retail Box store that does that type of thing read more

I looove Costco! I'm still a fairly new member, but I feel like my membership has already almost paid for itself. Some of my favorite things to buy here are rotisserie chickens, meats and produce, spring water and organic dried dates. I understand it's a membership club, but i am a member, i took my 70 year old mother here after my father was in the hospital for open heart surgery, she doesn't drive. She wanted to get food for 3 weeks to help while my father recovered, I suggested costco to buy in bulk. Once we got to the checkout, we both still had our visitors passes on from the ER. The checkout woman was rude, and a total bitch to my already struggling mother, who wanted to use my card, not a friend, a colleague, or stranger, my blood mother. Telling her, she couldn't buy the items in the cart, If we didn't need the items in the cart i would have told them to go F themselves and left.. I like Costco better than Sam's. It is pretty much the same, but better. They have cooler stuff. I'm most interested in the grocery side. We were here a few times before realizing there is a big room of produce that we didn't know about. Of course, with produce in large quantity, you gotta use it up. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan items. I like the frozen veggie bowls and Japanese noodle & veggie bowls; they are great for lunches. We try to get here at opening on Sundays before it gets crazy. Their 2-person checkout system is awesome. One person unloads for the customer and makes the membership card accessible to the cashier. Everyone I've encountered is friendly and efficient. 5/18 adding a tip: to order a cake, you must complete their form and drop it in the box in the bakery area (or take a form and fax it) and they need at least 24 hrs notice. When you call a store, there is no prompt for the bakery. I was able to get a woman on the phone in "adminstration" who told me the rules. read more

This is my go to spot for all toilet paper, paper towels, dog food, cleaning supplies and any foods we buy in bulk! They have a wonderful wine selection as well. We have bought multiple TVs, kitchen appliances and our couch here. Their return policy and customer service is unbeatable, you can return anything within warranty no questions asked. We have also booked a two week trip to Italy through Costco and we got 3% back on all the restaurants we went to while we were there. We definitely plan to book all our future trips through here, because they had the best price by far and we got free room upgrades at two of the hotels we stayed at and they throw in "perks" like a free bottle of champagne, etc. They also booked all the transportation between cities (high speed trains) and made navigating Italy so easy. Currently I'm waiting on them to patch my tire as I got a nail stuck in one of them and the fee was $10.00... and they did it while I shopped. Obviously buying in bulk has to make sense to you but I think people forget about the additional perks they offer so I would definitely take that into consideration if you're on the fence about a membership. read more

Overall, there would be many great things about Costco, including great wine bargains. However, I will never join because they are so very prejudiced against disabled people. They refuse to buy riding carts for people to use to get around that enormous store! They have several token carts, pretending that they care about consumers. But there is usually a half- hour or an hour wait for a cart -- and the management of this Costco is so totally vicious to the disabled that they do not even provide a place to sit when waiting. I would love to join and shop there, but cannot because the management of this store has made a decision not to serve disabled people. read more

I'm starting to come around to the Costco concept. I've checked out other locations previously, and for 1 or 2 people, it just doesn't make sense- you're never going to make up for the fees, and that 12 pound bag of chips is going to go stale before you can eat them. However, with 3 of us now, some selective shopping could save us money. A lot of items are still priced close to average- that 36-can block of pop is going to cost you about the same, per can, as 12 or 24 packs on sale at Meijer. However, some things are a better deal, and occasional sales will help. I priced diapers and wipes, and while the wipes worked out to almost the same as other stores, the diapers end up a bit cheaper. The baby clothes I checked were about 1/3 cheaper than other places. The Keurig cups (on sale) were quite a bit cheaper. So, it might add up based on spot-checks of the most expensive things we use. Still, the basic fee is $55/year, so you'd need to save that much. The "executive" one, for another $55, gives you 2% cash back- plus a guaranteed rebate of the $55 even if you don't spend enough to match it. And my employer is an ad partner of Costco, so that gets me even more savings. I'm still not all-in, though I like some of their specialty foods and that they seem to treat their employees well. We will join and see how it goes. When I went to this location on a weekday it was moderately busy, not crazy. Staff were helpful. The store is clean, and well-organized. However, they really need signs telling you what is in each aisle. I'm sure there's a map somewhere, and that you learn the layout, but it annoyed me as I tried to track down diapers. read more

Costco remains a leader among the bulk and big box stores. With each visit, I'm forever amazed by the orderliness of product lines. Costco takes great care to make the shopping experience as easy as possible and even with their attention to detail, aisle after aisle after aisle after aisle of goods is daunting. It's like being a kid and growing up with a wooded park next to your home. At first, the further you go the more anxious you become. In the end, you know every nook, cranny and hiding place. These days (2023) I would caution anyone from going at the Noon hour for this nearby Dublin location. SLAMMED! Every cashier line is open and the self-check out takes some pressure off. But it is a wait to get through it all. Selection - broad! Price - big box so always competitive. Cleanliness - guaranteed. Getting into and out of the Costco parking lot is taxing due to its location on a traffic circle. You get in but getting out? Another story. Costco is good. 4-stars and a cup of patience. read more

Costco is not only for bulk home goods - although they do have a lot of that - they also have a good meat department and electronics. The meat department has good quality meat at very competitive prices. For electronics, the returns policy is very good. Generally if you have any issue for any reason Costco will just replace or let you return with no fuss. The "issue" is that some of the bulk goods are just too much quality, you cannot always use it all before it goes bad which causes additional food waste and makes the price not actually cheaper than if you would have just bought less at a regular store read more

Well I finally got a chance to visit Costco. As their isn't one in NY State ...... it was ok the don't offer Day passes. So I was told I could look around but couldn't buy anything so I was forced to buy a $60 pass just to purchase $50 worth of items. So I do feel like that is a waste. This Costco is the newest Costco in the Columbus area, I have come here to get new tires for my car- Check out Costco next time for your tires a set of four when on sale (which rotates every two months) and when penny installation a set of four will cost $450 whereas Tire Discounters and others charge about two hundred to two hundred and fifty dollars more for the same tires and service. This Costco also is amongst the cheapest places to buy gasoline, on average I have noticed the price is about twenty cents cheaper than almost every other gas station. While the selection is lacking as mentioned in the review by Tammy, I would rather shop here than Polaris just because of the parking and traffic situation, plus the cheap gas. read more

I feel weird only giving a Costco 3 stars. And while 3 stars is 'A-OK' I am really feeling more like 'Meh, I've experienced better but I think 2 stars is a little mean. Been a Costco member since 1989. Been to Costco's all over the country and it quickly becomes apparent that each location is different and in a distinct place on the pecking order of greatness. I was thrilled when they opened up locations in Columbus and go to the Polaris location about once a week all year long. But a recent trip back to the Northwest for Thanksgiving after a 10 year absence was sobering and painful. Drove from a really small Oregon town to Medford (still not very big) and hit Costco to pick up some items for the holiday. As I walked the aisles looking at the breadth, variety and quality of items angels began to sing, a mysterious light shown down on me from above and I spontaneously became younger and better looking. I had forgotten how happy a west coast Costco makes a person. Countless top quality domestic and imported cheeses, many different kinds of cured meats, a wide variety of fresh and frozen seafoods, beautiful and exotic fruits, liquor filled chocolates, a huge variety of wines and many products that were my favorites 20 years ago. You don't get that at a Costco in Ohio. Where there were 6 different producers of charcuterie presenting 15 different products in Medford, there are generally only two in a CMH Costco, maybe three at Christmas. Sure they all have USDA Choice and Prime beef, but Medford had many cuts of veal and types of steaks not carried in our stores and duck and quail and on and on and on...This was the case on every type of product for sale. So coming back to Polaris I had to lower my expectations a bit and I did. So when I went to the new Plain City store I at least expected the Polaris experience to be duplicated. IF Oregon is eating high on the hog and Polaris is snacking on chitterlings, then Plain City is licking a photograph of a pig. A number of items that I had never NOT found at a Costco were absent. Breads and cheeses I buy every time I go were not there. Bags to keep frozen purchases cold for the ride home were not there. Meats and cheeses I rely on were absent. I think that Costco makes a rational business decision to match each store's product line to what the community buys the most. Which makes one ask 'WTF were you thinking opening the store in Plain City????????' I like Amish food as much as the next guy. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes work for me on many levels. But I want a Costco with 12 types of imported Italian meats, not 12 different types of domestic beef jerky. Fresh seafood has always been a sure thing at Costco and when I went in the first time to Plain City I bought two whole red snapper. Cooked one the first night and really questioned its freshness. The next day I pulled the other out to cook and it had clearly gone bad. Never befoer have I gotten bad seafood at Costco. Why? People in Plain City don't want whole Red Snapper as much as they want pork belly. I get it, but that doesn't stop my disappointment. I am back to shopping at Polaris. I am hoping that Costco will put a store between Dublin and Powell and stock it with really interesting stuff so my life can have meaning again. read more

This was my first time visiting this new Costco location. The Polaris location is much closer, but they were out of a pair of pants my husband really loved and wanted more of. Or rather, they were out of his size, and the asterisk clearly indicated they wouldn't be getting any more. I'm guessing it's because this location is newer and not as many people have discovered the awesomeness of Costco in the Plain City/Dublin area, but they had ample selection to choose from, so we walked away happy! This Costco is harder to get in and out of, so it wasn't a perfect experience. We didn't spend enough time there to know how the selection stacks up against other locations. read more

I love Costco, but I hadn't made it out to this location yet! This has all of the great things that you're used to from Costco: gas station, optical, pharmacy, deli, bakery, clothing, food galore, and a variety of housewares and more. The one tricky thing, which I find is true at a lot of locations, is that it seems like they are all set up just a little bit differently. This means you can't be quite as efficient and quick if you go to a location you are less familiar with. I usually assume that Costco is going to take me awhile, though, since I always want to check out the new products and samples, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a marketing technique to ensure you see more stuff! Entrance/exit to the parking lot can be a little trickier here than some of the other locations, but if you look for the one with the stop light, it's a bit easier. Despite the fact that it's the newest Costco on the block, it was still hopping and had a good crowd. read more
