Dr. Vanderhorst is just the best. She helped me find glasses for my tricky astigmatism (and no one had been able to for six years before that). Today she saw my 19 year old autistic daughter. She and the whole staff was so respectful, knowledgeable and kind. The staff and doctors at Ackerson Vanderhorst Eyecare Center have always been friendly and professional with me. They've been especially helpful whenever I've had problems or issues with my glasses, including multiple adjustments. I've never had to wait very long to see a doctor or get help looking at frames. The level of customer service at Ackerson is top notch. I teach customer service for a living and the ladies here are among the best I've seen when it comes to making you feel welcome. The optometrist here is awesome. She works with you and keeps you informed along the way. I am a curious fellow, so I ask a lot of questions to better my own knowledge. This is a great place! I recommend my friends to go here all the time. The service is wonderful and all the staff are friendly. They are up front with insurance costs and keep up to date on technology. The doctors are technically knowledgeable, caring, and able to communicate very well. At one time I had a severe emergency and I was able to get in immediately to see the doctor on hand. He diagnosed my problem immediately and was able to confirm it within minutes (migraine with auras!), as well as write me a note to get off work for the rest of the day and offer helpful suggestions. All this, even though he is not a neurologist. My regular doctor, Doctor Vanderhorst, always explains what is going on in my eyes and walks me through the OptoMap, a picture of the inside of your eyes, much more pleasant than dilation! Every time I see them, I walk out feeling like I know more about my eyes than I did going in, and I know I'm going to get great service when I go to see them. If my eyeglasses get out of alignment, they have no problems doing an adjustment, usually for free and on the spot. I get great care from Ackerson Eyecare, and would recommend them highly to anyone looking for an optometrist. read more

Very professional treatment by the optometrists, but some of the aides that fit your frames are arrogant and act like they are the only optometry shop in Hilliard. Also, you will need to bug the crap out of them to see whether your contacts or glasses have come in, because they say they will, but they in fact do not call you. read more
