Terrible communication from office staff and flaky doctors. I had to reschedule because no one bothered to tell me until one week before my appt that my doctor switched offices to a different city (same practice though) and they wouldn't honor my appointment time even if I travelled to the new office. Then, after rescheduling and waiting weeks for that appointment, I got another call less than one week before my rescheduled appointment informing me that my doctor decided to take time off. When I called to reschedule the receptionist literally said "yeah, that doctor takes a lot of time off in the summer." Next available appointment is two months from now after I've already been pushed off for months and I have no guarantee he'll actually show up to that one either. This has happened multiple times with this doctor and this practice. I've been asked to see his associates more than once due to his frequent cancellations. 100% do not recommend. Family life comes first, always, but the disregard this practice and its doctors has for patients is astounding. Good doctors are a dime a dozen. Don't waste your time or money on this practice. read more

Absolutely NOT a good experience! They are moving people through the two waiting rooms they make you go through like cattle. It's definitely all about making money at this place. If you have a eye exam, be prepared to have those lenses flashing so fast, I doubt you'll honestly be able to accurately capture the proper comparison of which one is better. They are all about money there and you should be very careful to understand what you are going to be charged. Two stars instead of one solely because Dr. Rogers has been fantastic and they recycle my used daily contacts and their packaging. Unfortunately that's only part of the experience here. I'm currently looking for a new eye doctor. My appointment on Monday 2/5/24 was cancelled over the weekend because Dr. Rogers is out sick. No big deal, it happens. When they called me to reschedule, I was advised that they're booked until April. Which is fine, except I only have around a 2 week supply of contacts left. I let them know and asked, if as a courtesy, they could renew my prescription for a couple months to get me to an April visit. I've been a patient for 15+ years and wearing the same exact lenses for the past 4-5. No dice. Instead, they countered that I could split my annual visit into two separate appointments, and they'd get me in with an optometrist this week to renew my prescription. I explained that taking off work twice for something that should be one appointment doesn't work for me. The appointments take FOREVER. She checked again and told me sorry, it's been over one year, so we can't do anything unless you come in. My last visit was 1/31/2023! So I guess if they'd cancelled my appointment just a few days earlier they'd be willing to help me out. What a joke of customer service. Anyways, Dr. Rogers is great, but be prepared for the rest of the experience. To add on to the above: -they are always behind schedule -plan to be there 2+ hours for every visit -the person in charge of ordering contacts never answers the phone. Literally not once in years of ordering contacts. So good luck if you can't drop what you're doing at work when they call back. It's a miserable game of phone tag. Eventually I just got them elsewhere for way less hassle. In case anyone else ends up in this predicament...I made an account with 1800 contacts and renewed my prescription in 5 minutes. The staff submitted incorrect information to my disability insurance company caused me to lose my benefits. Although, they admitted their mistake, they would not reimburse me . They fought me tooth and nail in court. I am a 68 year old senior citizen. I have to work to supplement my Social Security. My eye sight was 20/200 I couldn't see well enough to work. read more

I called to schedule a free consultation for Lasik and the woman that answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful. She couldn't provide me with a time estimate for the consultation and also told me they charge consultations to insurance and that they are not free as advertised. She kept telling me that "she's not in the billing department" rather than trying to find an answer. If office staff are terrible, I wouldn't trust them to touch my eyes!! read more

This place has seen better days, and the optical shop is outrageously expensive. I once had to correct a prescription they gave me because it had the wrong date on it. No one would sell me contacts because the doctor, who probably should have retired long ago, had put the wrong year on it, therefore it was over one year old the day I got it. It's against the law to buy contacts with a prescription over one year old- I guess the opticians' lobby got to Congress because of all those dangerous old contact lens wearers killing people in the streets. I had to walk in my prescription to get them to change it. Once you get called in from the lobby, there are multiple other waiting rooms. You could easily be there 3 hours for an eye exam, so be prepared. read more

I was referred to this office to see Dr Nick Rogers as I had questionable macular degeneration. I really liked Dr Rogers and he is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. I was there for over 2 hours -- most of it waiting while people who came in after me were seen; by the time I was finished the entire office staff had gone to lunch, so I took my new prescription back to Vision Professionals in Sunbury where I'd gone several times previously. When the new glasses came, I was unable to see out of my right eye....it was literally like putting someone else's glasses on. After a month of not getting used to them, I took them back to Vision Professionals, who told me they'd been made to the exact specifications of my new prescription. I had to make another appointment at NW Eye New Albany where the same person waited on me (short, heavy, dark haired woman); the doctor who came after her and checked her re-check of my eyes, informed that a '+' instead of a '-' was typed into my right eye prescription IN ERROR. In 55 years of wearing glasses this has never happened before. They did not offer to make it right in any way, merely apologized and sent me back to Sunbury so that that office could eat the cost of a $900 plus pair of glasses-- which I consider unprofessional in the extreme. My wife went for minor surgery on a sagging eyelid. Simple enough right? A true disaster, as she has had swelling and severe pain ever since this procedure was completed. Many trips back to see this quack of a doctor with the same results, And his statement, "this is normal t have a little bit of swelling" NOT! Monday, December 30th, 2019 back Again, same issues only worse. A prescription was given after six minutes in his treatment room. Said to call back and he would get her in right away if the medicine was not working. She called for a 1:30 appointment and she informed them it was an emergency with severe pain and swelling now all over her face and was running a fever. Arrived at 1:15 pm December 31st, 2019 and was led into a room for a brief consultation with the statement, "the Doctor will see you in a few minutes". We were led out to a hallway to sit down and wait for almost 2 hours. When asked when she was going to see the doctor, the nurse, was very belligerent and said, "look here it is New Year's Eve and we have seven patients ahead of you, the wait can be one to 4 hours". We knew it was News Year's Eve and told her that but told her we had a 1:30 appointment. We asked why the receptionist did not inform us that there would be a 2 4 hour wait. She replies " The receptionist does not know what is going on "back" here. " They only had one eye doctor in the office today. 12/31/2019 In our opinion and we are not Medical Doctors, they know they screwed up this surgery, as this will require a new Doctor who knows that He or She is doing to straighten this mess out IF she does not lose her eyesight before. Beware of this type of eyesight warehouse, where all they are interested in is the almighty dollar, not your wellbeing. Enter at your own risk, this is a serious matter that is dealing with one's eyesight. They just do not care. Beware when you see they also are selling glasses from prescriptions they administer. read more

This office always runs chronically late..I am talking hours... totally ridiculous. I would suggest having the office sign an agreement to reimburse you for your hourly wage if you decide to become a patient. They always over schedule patients and you never get out of there at a reasonable time. read more

Your wait time is the least of your concerns. My life style is very active (farm, horses, photography) and Dr O decided that my sight after surgery should be "near sighted" (which I've been all my life) because "it's what you're used to". This is after pleading for "best vision possible and I'm okay with readers" at every session and purchase of "premium" lens with expectation of optimal sight. Living without glasses (readers okay!) was almost too much to hope for (if Dr O is your physician)-it would have changed my life. After surgery on first eye and several days of expecting/hoping for better vision, attempting to drive (with lens popped out of glasses because ("sure, you can drive"), being tested for "readers" (don't need them!), i was really concerned about what happened. I had specific questions at the week follow-up. First question, "what correction did you give me?". It was then I was told, Dr O had corrected "near vision" and glasses are forever in my future. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED (really doesn't touch how upset I am). VERY POOR QUALITY OF CARE FROM DR O. DOES NOT LISTEN TO PATIENT'S CONCERNS/DESIRES. read more

I have been going here for over 5 years and Dr Rogers eye care for me me has been professional, caring, and cordial. I have had cataract surgery and follow up diabetics eye care and laser procedures all of which have been wonderful. I can't think of a finer eye care facility and fine doctor! read more

The staff here are very nice and the doctor I visited was very skilled. The wait time during appointments is completely unacceptable though. A simple procedure took me two to three hours per visit and initial diagnosis and follow up appointments were over an hour's wait. It is poorly managed from that perspective and tough to be able to consider returning knowing how much time I have to plan to be away from work. Please fix this- you get everything else right! read more

As long as i can remember my eyesight has been poor with useable vision in one eye only. Without glasses or contacts i could not see the big E on eye charts. As i grew older my eyesight grew worse, Mr. Magoo had nothing on me. Cataracts!! Several years ago Dr. Lembach Sr. Performed cataract surgery, he was my last hope. Surgery was painless and in no uncertain terms, A MIRACLE!!! Although nothing could be done for my sightless eye, the other is almost 20/20. For the first time in my life i can see the time or watch tv without glasses. Anyone who thinks cataracts are hopeless are wrong. Dr. Lembach has changed my life for the better. It does take time to go through the process but, speed is not as important as skill. read more

Dr Oehler is good. Constant revolving door concerning office staff. Wait times are long. The optical department use to be good but the last few years it's become a mess. I was used to a small practice in Delaware, OH and after moving to Columbus was recommended to this practice as being very professional and thorough. However the pre-screening involved a woman sitting on a chair wiggling her fingers to the side of her head to check my peripheral vision. The doctor seemed hurried and put off if I wasn't sure if 1 or 2 was better or worse. My previous decade of experience at the smaller practice involved a concerned physician who was interested in determining what was right for my eyes. This visit seemed like I was another in a long line of patients who were there as billable services. I thought perhaps this was a fluke, but my wife had a similar experience a few weeks later. We're both looking for a smaller, caring practice. read more

This place has a reputation for long wait times, and it's true. I'm here for a quick "10 minute followup" appointment, but had to wait over 90 minutes. The secondary waiting room was completely FULL. They even made an announcement to let people know "we haven't forgotten about you". This seems to be all too common. :-( read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Whitaker's for years and always had good experiences with the care provided (aside from the long wait times others have mentioned). I was incredibly disappointed with the customer service I received at their Upper Arlington office on 9/3/19. I came in for a routine eye exam and provided my new vision insurance information to the person at the front desk. After the visit, instead of billing my vision insurance (which would have paid for everything in full), they billed my health insurance. I am now stuck with the $90 difference. When I called and wrote a letter (with my vision insurance information attached) to them requesting that they bill my vision insurance and not my health insurance, they claim I came in for an acute issue and not a routine eye exam, so it has to go through health insurance. I know what I made the appointment for and what was performed. It was a routine eye exam. This experience has really soured me on this medical provider. I will not be returning to their office and would recommend you go to another group for your eyecare needs. read more

Since the age of 3 my vision has been extremely poor. Without contacts the Big E was a mere blurr. Glasses? Mr. Magoo had nothing on me, coke bottle lenses. A few years ago I discovered i had cataracts. Unfortunately, I had useable vision in only one eye, surgery was not something most eye surgeons would attempt. I was slowly going (more) blind. Dr. Lembach stepped up and performed surgery, implanted a lens and like magic, I could SEE. The Big E, no problem. For the first time in my life I could watch tv or see the time without glasses or contacts. With glasses I have virtually 20/20 vision in my "good" eye. I can not praise this practice enough. Front desk, nurses and doctors treated me as if I were family. Every day I marvel at going from can't see a thing to the miracle of every day life. Anyone needing cataract surgery should consider this talented group of professionals. Surgery was a breeze, nothing to fear. I am living proof miracles do happen read more

I have visited both offices before and had great experiences (which is saying a lot because the eye doctor is the only doctor I hate going to). The offices are clean, the front desk staff is very friendly (which is a big plus in my book), and the doctors are very thorough. I continue to stick with Northwest Eye Surgeons despite my move to Boston for school. I have not purchased glasses at either location because I do not need them quite yet, but it appeared that both offices had a good selection. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I went here for my first appointment last month. Had to wait 1 hour to be seen but otherwise thought the staff was kind and the eye exam was great. I was given a pair of contacts to try and instructed to call back to order additional pairs. I have now called back 4 times over two weeks, left messages and talked with the receptionist and have still not been able to talk to someone to physically orders a supply of contacts. I am extremely disappointed in the service and would not recommend this practice for your eye care. read more

I have been going here for years and always loved the care I was getting from Dr. Rogers. However...Dr. Kayser has a horrible bedside manner and is mean to his patients. Throughout my appointment I was yelled at for something as simple as blinking. It was very uncomfortable and I could not wait to get out of there. This will be my last visit. My primary care physician referred me to the Upper Arlington Office because I am having trouble reading fine print. I can read a book for about an hour, and then I lose focus in my eyes and must stop. My vision remains blurred for distances of any length for about a half hour after I stop reading before my eyes recover. I'm 56 years old and reading has always been a great pleasure for me. I expected my primary care physician would refer me to an Opthamologist who would take the time to listen to the problem I have been having and provide a diagnosis and some guidance. I was sorely disappointed. Honestly, I rate this facility no higher than I would any factory outlet in the business to sell glasses or contacts and rush you out the door. Of course my particular experience at this facility may be attributed to only seeing one of numerous Opthamologists in the building; or it could be because my appointment was the day before Thanksgiving; or perhaps the communication of the purpose of my visit was unclear. Nonetheless, I will be advising others to look elsewhere for eye care. As for me, I guess I'll return to my primary care physician for a better referral; or I'll take advantage of the few people I personally know in the healthcare profession for advice. I'm already on Google with the expectation that I can get better opinions off of the internet than I can from Doctors whose times seem driven by a stopwatch. read more

I have had multiple bad experiences with this eye doctor after being referred from Riverside. My initial appointments were positive, Dr. Brown is pretty nice. Their front desk staff, however, is not friendly or knowledgeable. They've lacked professionalism and friendliness for the majority of the visits I've had. This practice has also been running about an hour behind schedule, consistently, for the last few months. Even when I booked the 7:45 time slot to avoid waiting, I still waited over an hour and a half to be seen by the doctor. About 6 months ago, I ordered contacts from here at a great price. I called recently to ask if that order could just be duplicated and was told that they've since switched to a new system and do not have the old orders available. Since I do not have any type of receipt or bill or order confirmation, I do not know the exact price of the contacts... apparently, neither do they. I do know that I paid around $80 for my total order and for the same quantity and brand, they just quoted me $102. While a $22 discrepancy may not sound like a lot, it is to me. Enough to drive me away from this practice. read more
