I am approaching eight years after having had laser eye surgery at TLC in Dublin, Ohio on January 18, 2018. I chose to have my left eye corrected to read clearly, and my right eye corrected to see far, while balancing the combined vision of both eyes. My prescription is still exactly as it was intended to be. Let me tell you, waking up after a long nap and being able to see is LIFE CHANGING. I'm so glad I finally took the leap. I found TLC on Yelp and with its high rating, great reviews, and the fact that it is located not too far from home, I decided to make an appointment. Everyone here is really friendly. They very clearly outlined the process, the pros, cons, worse outcomes, best outcomes, etc. After reading several pages outlining all the horrible things that could go wrong, I almost changed my mind... but knowing other people that have done it and the success they've seen, I was set on it. My first appointment was just to have my eyes examined, sign all the paperwork, and learn everything I needed to know in order to be fully prepared. My next visit was for the procedure. This day was rough for me personally. I wasn't nervous to have it done (heck, I can do anything for 30 seconds) but after waiting over three hours in the small waiting room I almost lost my mind. When appointments are required and you know how many people are scheduled to come in that day, you roughly know how long things are going to take. Instead of trying to pack in as many patients as you possibly could in one day, maybe focus on your patients overall experience. I wouldn't have cared had they called me and shared that they overbooked and needed to change my appointment. That would have taken my experience from barely a three star, maybe even to five. A few days after the procedure I went back in for a check up that was literally less than five minutes from check in to check out. Overall, I'm glad that I did it. The day of did suck, mainly because of the waiting for so long, but I can see and for that, I am super happy. read more

I wish I could express how grateful and excited I am to wake up every morning with 20/20 vision!! I would recommend LASIK and TLC to everyone (i have already been referring friends and family). I was treated with overwhelming kindness and professionalism from the moment I stepped Inside their door. TLC is taking extra precautions due to COVID; I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. The pre-op exam was extremely thorough, I did not feel rushed or "up sold". Dr Gilbert answered every single question before I even asked. He helped eased my anxiety (I HATE everything related) The day of surgery was not perfect, I knew with an afternoon appointment things could run behind (only thing I would recommend is telling patients how long the wait may be; would be helpful for us to let our drivers know and calm the nerves... The mind can do some crazy things) once I was taken to the back I was stoked. The nurse administering the drops and doing the education made me laugh and comforted my crazy ass. Dr San Filippo greeted me, told me she'd take care of me, and was good on her word (). My right eye was a bugger, but Angela never left my side- she rubbed my arm and encouraged me through the pressure. That makes a HUGE difference when you scared and vulnerable. The doctors communicated with me before and after the procedure to make sure I was doing good and to see if I had any questions. I would recommend 100%. I arrived at 1:50 pm for my 2 pm appointment. No one was in the office. I rang the doorbell and waited for 5 minutes. A sign on the door said someone would be out in 2-3 minutes to answer the door. I waited another 5 min and tried again. No one. I waited another 10 and tried again. I called the scheduling number and was told they spoke to staff in the office and they would be out in 10-15 min when their training was over. After 20 minutes myself and another gentleman than arrived for his appointment decided we would not won't any longer. If this is the type of customer care TLC provides, I definitely don't want them working on my eyes. read more

Wow, this center is designed to crank out laser eye procedures in bulk! Which is a plus on the day of your surgery... and a drawback on your next-day follow-up appointment. Facilities are super clean, comfortable, with nice amenities like complimentary snacks, coffee and tea in the waiting area. All of the staff is very approachable, calming and informative. You almost feel like you're getting the VIP treatment at a five-star resort. They move all of the patients through the surgical process very quickly, so you barely have time to stress about it. And I love that they make everyone take a Xanax pre-procedure. Who doesn't love a little warm-and-fuzzy? However, the day after my procedure, I had to go back for a follow-up. The waiting room was packed with all of the prior-day's patients. We waited for over an hour just to have someone look at my eye for 5 minutes. The level of service certainly was sub-par when compared with the previous day. It felt like they overbooked procedures on Friday (to generate maximum revenue, obviously), then tried to squeeze all of the post-op check-ups into a half day Saturday. For the record, my procedure turned out exactly as they said it would: no pain during, no pain the day after, lots of pain the third day (but lots of Vicodin to help endure!), and blurry vision for about a week or two. I am now three weeks post-procedure and my eyes never felt better and my vision has never been crisper. I appreciate that they told me exactly what to expect throughout all aspects of my care and recovery. Regardless, I'm very happy with the way everything turned out! My husband had an appt for consult, they called and said eye dr did such a good exam he didn't need to come for it, just come for surgery with small exam before. We arrived 20 minutes early, appt at 1. At 1:30 we will still waiting to be waited on. Finally he goes back for a consult! All is well, by 2:30 the paperwork and payment was made and off I went to the car me to wait. They said when he text you he is going back it will only take 25--30 min. He text me at 3:06. At 4:15 I have heard from no one. I get concerned and finally walk innot 4:24, I said is everything ok. They are like oh yeah he is in the bathroom and he is done. I told them they are unprofessional. I was genuinely concerned something had gone wrong. My feelings are we were treated like we were squeezed in when in all reality we had an appt. This is not a procedure where you should go for the cheapest deal. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I was able to schedule a free consultation to discuss everything about Lasik. They also did a ton of tests at this consultation to ensure that I was suitable candidate. It was nice to know that they were double checking everything and once they received the results ( same visit), they showed me easy to understand graphs and explained exactly what they were looking for and why I was suitable. It made me feel VERY confident to book a LASIK appointment with them. After I decided to actually proceed, they set up a financial consultation as well to advise me all my options! You can pay up front, or do a month by month payment option with no interest. It was very informative! Then was the actual preparation for the LASIK. They do the LASIKs every friday morning and you are expected to take the full friday off of work ( you will need it just to sleep it all off to help the healing!) You can not wear any eye make up or contacts 2 weeks leading up to the procedure either. Once it came to the morning of, I was nervous but the people there were very relaxed and made me feel great. It was AMAZING how it literally does take them 5 minutes TOPS per person to do the actual lasik. ( there are about 10 other people waiting in a line to get it done.. its kind of strange to think about) They give you a prescription for xanax that you take to calm you down, and it made me not reallly notice the actual procedure. Its uncomfortable, but does not hurt at all. Its mostly because you are unable to close your eyes more than anything, you cant actually feel a THING on your eye ball. After the procedure you relax there for about 20 minutes and then your driver drives you home. You are given another xanax to ensure you pass out for the afternoon ( this is to make sure your eyes are not being touched by you since you are going to be sleeping). You are given a pair of goggles to also wear for the next two weeks while you sleep to make sure you don't touch your eyes. For the vision part of this, when i first got out of the procedure it felt like i was opening my eyes under water, so it didn't feel like i didn't have contacts in ( not blurry anymore) but still not clear. After I woke up from my nap though ( 4 hours later) it was AMAZING!! I could see so clearly!!! You have a check up the next morning to make sure everything is ok and that takes about 5 mins. after that you are all set!! I definitely recommend this place for not only LASIK, but eye issues in general. Dr. Doyle and Dr Lytle worked with me through out the process and they were both amazing. read more

I had both my eyes done here, one of them twice. The team at TLC was great. They did a very thorough job of monitoring the healing of my eyes and worked hard to find a solution when my left eye healed with astigmatism the first time. (not their fault) Dr. Greiner did a particularly great job of keeping tabs on my cornea and putting me at ease about the second surgery which was slightly more complex and risky than the standard LASIK. Everything turned out perfectly thanks to her, Dr. Doyle, Jane, and the team. 60 min of stress in pre-op, 10 min of intensity in surgery, a couple days of discomfort, and a couple months of eye drops. It (and some $) is a small price to pay for perfect vision. read more

Absolutely worst experience. This office took two weeks to schedule an appointment for me when my referring doctor gave them a call. Then only decided to actually schedule me when I gave them a call to ask why nothing had been scheduled yet. Then they scheduled me immediately for a surgery, without my knowing. I never had a consultation or any discussion regarding safety, cost, billing, etc. I only found out that they scheduled me for surgery when calling to confirm my appointment date. Then upon arriving at my appointment they had me wait an HOUR to be seen for a consultation without anyone sitting at the front desk. Finally, when someone showed up at the front desk, I had to reschedule my appointment because they said they would not be able to see me yet, even though my appointment should have been over an hour ago. They were rude during that entire conversation even though I had been waiting an hour and were not sympathetic, instead the man at the front desk FINALLY gave me the check in materials and said "here is something you can do." Overall, this place has not helped in my anxiety with this procedure and I do not trust them to pay close enough attention. I get the sense that this office is very disorganized, which is not comforting for such a big procedure. read more

My right eye was measured at -5 and left eye was measured at -4.25. After getting a free consultation and talking with the doctor, he said I was a great candidate for lasik eye surgery. I took my eye surgery on 7/12/18 and got back 20/20 vision; the doctor said that I may potentially be able to see better than 20/20 when my eyes fully recovered. The staff are really friendly and helpful. This was a life changing experience and it changed my life. I hope that those who are reading this may give TLC Laser Eye Centers a chance. Other reviews pretty much cover the picture really well... From the whole procedure, to the sitting up and seeing immediately to the comments about the incredibly cleanliness of the facility and employees that work there being calming and nice. True on all accounts!! However, I did disagree with the view that a review or two that have been made addressing their post op follow up. Mostly because I have been there twice in the past year, once as a driver of another and then for my own procedure and the follow up the next day both times was in and out of the door. You are given the option to have the post op done by your own Dr so it goes without saying....people come back for a reason. I personally chose to come back for the post op. I did not want to drive 3hrs home just to have to go back the next day due to something that could have been seen and corrected the next day. In my experience I opted out from taking the Xanax due to some medication sensitivities and had no issues at all. The next day I did the post op and was out in less than 10 min. I even give them props for putting up with my humor in a serious situation (probably inappropriate on my part)....Just be sure to say its a joke or as they take their work really seriously, you will get a serious look and asked what do you mean? Asking how to engage the night vision...I thought it was funny :)...and yes I was that relaxed with them that I felt I could joke. I have to credit to the amount of effort they take with the small details. From the follow up call later in the day to check on how I was feeling (I hope this wasn't only for me and I busted them for special treatment), to wonderful prep person that offered small talk while putting the dozen or so drops in your eye as well as being available as the escort back out of the surgery room while you are still dazed in the "is this for real" stage. They wrapped my glasses in tissue paper even though I wont be able to wear them again. They called and spoke with my personal eye Dr prior to surgery. Even the communication between the Dr and surgery staff to make sure everyone is on the same page. It is an investment and with my investment I did the research and went to the best. Dr Doyle, Dr Gilbert, Dr Lytle, as well as their wonderful staff of Angela, Jamie, Lori, and Sandy...all make the process easier as well as creating that "I matter" feeling. read more

After about 16 years of wearing glasses and contacts I finally made the decision to get the LASIK procedure. First you get a number of tests done to make sure you are a good candidate for LASIK, and the doctors explain every detail to you during this consultation. If you are a good candidate, you can schedule your procedure that day. You will have a pre-op appointment 7 days before your sugary date. You must be out of your contacts 7 days prior to your pre-op appointment, so a total of 14 days before surgery. They do the procedures all day on Fridays and you will find out your surgery time about 5 days before. Surgery day: Arrive at the LASIK center and sign in. There are quite a few people also waiting for their surgery but it moves relatively quickly. I waited for about 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Once you head back, a nurse goes over all of the post-op information, you take a xanax, and then you get a bunch of different eye drops to numb your eyes, and a few antibiotic & steroid drops. When you go into the 'surgery suite' there are a number of nurses and Dr. Doyle that get you settled in and the surgery starts right away. First they make the flap in both cornea's - this part was extremely uncomfortable and weird, but I wouldn't say it was painful. You basically lose vision and see a ton of stars in a dark background. Once both flaps are made you spin around under the laser machine and they laser both eyes. This part you don't feel at all and is only seconds long. Dr. Doyle then puts your flaps back into place and you are done. You can see as soon as the surgery is done, but your vision is a little cloudy. You will go home and sleep for 4 hours. When you wake up, you can see, almost perfectly. You will put in eye drops and pretty much rest the rest of the day. I had surgery yesterday, and I had my post-op appointment this morning. My eye sight is 20/20 in BOTH eyes as of this morning and I have virtually no pain in either eye. My eye doctor said I could be at 15/20 by the end of the week. For anyone debating whether or not to get the LASIK procedure, the best advice I can give you is... GO FOR IT!! Just after 1 day it is already by far the best investment I've ever made. read more

I can honestly say I wish I had not waited so long to have Lasik surgery. Dr. Doyle in Dublin, OH is as good as they come. She has excellent bedside manners and truly cares for her patients. I had Lasik performed at this location this past Friday and had a tremendous experience. I can't speak highly enough of the team at TLC in Dublin as they were able to field any and all questions I had leading up to the surgery and made me feel very comfortable going into the procedure. The process between trips for the consultation/initial testing to dilation/further testing to surgery in very smooth at this location. They also have the best technology available for Lasik surgery which in and of itself makes the process more comforting. You may be able to go to other location and find a better price but that was never a thought in my mind. When it comes to something such as vision I would rather pay extra to know that I am in good hands and that is the case at TLC Dublin. I was able to see clearly already on the day of surgery after the required 4 hour nap. By the following day I was seeing 20x15. Again I can't speak highly enough of my experience and really the ease of going through the process that TLC Dublin provided. I was amazed at how easy the process was for the patient and I am now seeing better than I have since I was 9 years old. read more

I have been wearing glasses and contacts for 15 years and had been considering LASIK for the last 5 years. My prescription wasn't stable enough until recently and I was finally ready to get this life changing procedure. Two of my friends went to TLC for their LASIK and PRK procedures and had nothing but amazing things to say about them so I scheduled a consultation to learn more. Dr. Lytle did a great job of explaining all the tests they had to run to see if I was a candidate for LASIK and walked me through step by step what would happen leading up to the procedure and the actual procedure itself. He also explained to me that because my astigmatism is so strong, I may have to get a touch up procedure in a year or two but any corrections you'll need for the rest of your life (which is rare) will be free at any TLC location nationwide. I went in for my consultation in October and was planning on getting the procedure in January so I could put money in my FSA, but I ended up getting a $1000 discount for scheduling my surgery before the end of the year so it only cost me $3790. I normally would be skeptical about getting a medical procedure done at a place that was pushing such a large discount to schedule my procedure, but I have read great reviews about TLC and both my friends had such positive experiences that I was okay with it. I am extremely happy with my decision to get my LASIK done at TLC. The day of the procedure I was at the office for about an hour and the actual procedure only took minutes. Dr. Doyle was so friendly and did a great job of explaining what was happening during the procedure. After that, I went home to sleep for a few hours and woke up being able to see! Throughout the next week or so, my vision kept improving and when I went in for my follow up appointment 10 days later, I had 20/20 vision. My procedure was 3 weeks ago and I have nothing but amazing things to say about it and about the staff at TLC that made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout this whole process. read more

I was looking for a center that had reasonable prices for eye laser surgery, and thanks to yelp, I found TLC in Dublin. I was examined by one of the drs. and I was told that I needed cataract surgery instead, and insurance would cover it. My eye surgery was done by Dr. Louise Doyle, first on the right eye, and this Thursday the left eye will be done. I really got lucky! She's an excellent dr. did a great job, the Eye Center on Neil Avenue is where surgery was performed, what a comfortable, clean facility. Its such a pleasure to have Dr. Doyle and the staff at TLC take such good care of me. I highly recommend TLC for lazar and cataract surgery. read more

TLC has an amazingly kind staff, I could not have been happier! My free consultation started off by doing several different eye tests, Dr. Gilbert was incredible. He was so kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. He always triple checked his work so I trusted what he was doing. He was there to answer any questions or concerns I had about the procedure and made me feel really comfortable. After the consultation I met with Angela Berry who was my surgical consultant and she was just as kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She discussed cost with me what my insurance would cover, how I could get financing, and different options for payment. The day of the surgery I arrived around 1 pm and was done around 2 pm, it was extremely quick. Every staff member I encountered were kind and loving. I am a very anxious person so I was extremely nervous and everyone helped me feel so comfortable. The surgeon Dr. Doyle was amazing as well, she was so kind during the procedure and talked me through it while telling me how great I was doing. So I was looking around and I found that TLC had gone bankrupt and everyone that had eye surgery from them at the time got screwed out of their money and follow-up procedures. Before getting eye surgery people need to look into if the place has gone through bankruptcy or had any lawsuits. Just saying. Shoot even Tiger Woods' ex has sued TLC for millions because they blinded her in one eye. They have been investigated for fraud as well because in some of these lawsuits, they have doctored documents. Columbus Laser and Cataract Center is a more respectable place and they are about $1950 per eye. read more
