I went to this place initially in 2015 to pick up my Grey Smoke Oakley Crosslink with Interchangeable temple arms and extra active transition lenses. They give me so far 2 sets of lenses both with the same issue since I've owned my glasses for stress fractures around the edges due to manufacturing defects. I haven't had eye insurance for a while and now that I do, I decided to give them one last try. I specifically told them to order the exact color frame so that I can use my interchangeable temples from my old set which were about $50 per set and I own about 6 sets. When I went to pick up the glasses, they were the wrong color. So now I have to wait another 4 weeks. I would not recommend this place to anyone especially Oakley fans like me. read more

Don't make appointment near lunchtime. My appointment was 11:00. Got there at 10:45. Filled out paperwork. Technician was nice and as informative as he could be. Dr. Burroughs was very kind and thorough in her exam. The not-so-pleasant part was in picking out frames. I felt rushed. I did pick out frames but after leaving I thought of a very important question. I called office and told receptionist what my question was. He said the lady who helped me was with a patient and that he would call me back with an answer. Which was fine. As I was about to end the call, the lady got on the phone and she answered in a rush and said she would change my order if that's what I wanted. As I was responding back to her, she impatiently cut me off and said she was with a customer. I knew that. She could have called me back. I would have preferred that rather than feeling I was a bother. This was my first visit to this office and I wish it hadn't ended badly. read more

Staff was fantastic and so kind. I came in with my mother as she was getting an eye exam . I wasn't even a customer at the time and they fixed my current glasses. I actually needed an exam anyways and setup an exam after that. They went above and beyond during the exam as well. They helped me stay within a budget on my glasses. read more

In the midst of the COVID pandemic, I scratched the living h*ll out of my eye. The same day, I was able to secure an appointment. I can express with the upmost praise that this practice upholds the most extreme protocols for hygiene. I felt safe from the second I received a masked, "Hello!" Every single person that works here is beautiful from inside and out. Dr. B lit up my sad (blurred) world and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone asking for an optical recommendation. She is kind and engaging. She is caring. She asks all the right questions. I truly adored every moment with her - despite my pain. Let's be real, everyone is stressed right now. This whole time really is like a overflowing toilet of yuck. Clarkson is the opposite of that. From greeting, to treatment, to cleanliness and comfort, to the very last goodbye - it was a wonderful experience despite being in pain. Highly recommend. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. I called to order contacts and they said they were not sure how to do that (????) and hung up on me then straight to voicemail. It has been days and I have not heard back. When I went in for my annual eye exam, they did not charge my insurance first? Just charged me the full price and I had to ask about it. They were very rude once they found out that I did not want to purchase new glasses from them, my prescription was not changing either. I do not think this place is personable or remembers me. I have had a spot on my eye that my old doctor (retired now) always brought up and comforted me in, this office doesn't even mention it which raises large concerns. read more

I've been going here for three years. I had a great experience the first time I went. Last year the doctor was running so behind that NY appointment started an hour after my scheduled start time. Based on last year's experience I allotted extra time in the event the doctor was running behind again. I'm glad I did since I was there last week and the doctor was running behind again. After 45 minutes I went up to the receptionist and asked how much longer since I had to be at work. I was told by the younger receptionist that I was next. No apologies or explanation about the hold up. I was finally called back and the person who did my glaucoma test was very friendly and apologetic about the wait. The doctor was very apologetic about the wait. I felt the doctor was pretty thorough with the exam and tried to be mindful about getting me out on time to go to work. The location is convenient and the doctor is very nice. I was just frustrated that two years in a row my appointment didn't start anywhere close to on time. it would've been nice if I was kept up to date on the situation by the front desk staff. I'll give this place one more chance and see how it goes next year. read more

Everyone at the Dublin office is genuinely friendly. The technician was patient, communicated well, and was a delight. Dr. Burroughs is so outstanding and thorough. Didn't have much of a selection for glasses so I got my prescription, she wrote me a prescription that also had a bifocal and stigma recommendation so trying to get glasses with it has been a horrible pain. I don't need bifocals. Its not because I am in denial of being old, its because I don't need them. I finally got a pair with just the the stigma part in the prescription (the store said they have to follow prescription) and they give me a headache. Tried to send me to a specialist that they scheduled for me after I left and then they tell me when I am supposed to go. I was able to cancel that appointment. Everything just seemed so dramatic. read more

My whole family (myself, husband, 1 teenage girl and a tween boy) have been going here for the past couple of years for glasses and contacts. We have had a great experience and the staff has been very helpful in finding the best deals, either through manufacturers discounts or our insurance. They will even order a frame for your in a different color if they don't have it and if you don't like it, no problem. Rinkov has also understood that we may or may not buy glasses from them and are happy to give us a prescription to buy elsewhere. They had an awesome deal for the summer for students for $99 for a pair of glasses w/ lenses with a huge selection of frames to chose from. I believe they will offer that again next year. Would definitely recommend going here. read more

Updating my original review..... after years of going here at Rinkov- they changed to Clarkson Eye and the place went down hill!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE! Without a massive back story I'll just list all the thing this company messed up on all levels!!!! --My daughter wanted contacts. They never said it would be a $133 "fitting fee" for a "nurse visit" --The office billed me $35 for a Refraction Test that could have been billed to my insurance but they didn't even try. -- The billing statements do not reflect how much was actually billed to the insurance you have to ask for it. -- I called the office manager multiple times and she NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!! -- I called the corporate office. The district manager was supposed to contact me. They NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!! -- I finally spoke to someone in the Corporate billing department who was extremely rude! She had the never to state "So what you're saying is you want to receive free services for an appointment." I told her I SIMPLY WANT THEM TO BILL MY INSURANCE PROPERLY AND I WANT THE BILL TO BE TRANSPARENT!!! -- FINALLY THESE IDIOTS SENT ME A REFUND CHECK FOR THE REFRACTION TEST, BUT THEY MADE THE CHECK OUT TO MY 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!!!! read more

The staff is very unhelpful if you are not willing to buy glasses from the ones in-store. I told them I was going to price match with glasses I found online, and they were almost reluctant to give me my prescription, I had to ask for it 3 times. My insurance website was also down at the time of the appointment, and they were very frustrated with ME for that. Once the website worked for them, they offered no apology for the rude comments made in front of multiple staff and other customers. I have been a patient of this practice for years and felt compelled to leave a review after a particularly positive experience. As a physician (which I did not tell them), I feel like I am a suitable critic. Let me point out a few highlights that I find most important: 1) staff was knowledgeable and courteous. I must commend the staff--everyone was very friendly and polite from the first greeting thru the time I checked out. The optometrist was particularly professional, efficient, and able to answer all of my questions. 2) cleanliness -- a clean and hygienic office is a must, especially when an exam means pressing your Forehead and chin into 4-5 different machines. All of the machines were very clean. The tech cleaned the machines with an alcohol swab before I used them. 3) state of the art technology: I am certainly no expert in ophthalmic equipment, but their equipment looked modern, clean, and well-maintained. 4). Price--I did my homework before ordering my contacts from their store. I checked prices at 1800contacts, Costco, and Walmart. I was very surprised to find that Rinkov's prices for 1 yr of my contacts was much cheaper than Costco and Walmart and only $19 more expensive than online. They even price matched the online price and took care of the hassle of billing the insurance for me. 5) selection--I have bought glasses from this store before but did not do so on this occasion. My past experience is the staff is very knowledgeable and make useful suggestions to help find glasses that both look good and fit my expectations My wife and kids are all patients here and will be for years to come. DO NOT USE RINKOV EYECARE!!!! Rinkov Eyecare Center did not properly process my insurance for a routine eye exam. I did not pay out of pocket because I did not feel it was my responsibility. Rinkov sent that to a collections agency!!! 4+ years later I just paid the collection agency $283 so that it would stop hurting my credit. read more

My experience has been a pretty big train wreck. I recently switched to this practice because of location and a personal relationship with the Rinkov family. From techs who can't effectively use the equipment to the wrong prescription being identified by the dr. to now contacts arriving that are mislabeled...I think I've had enough. read more
