I had gone to them over a year ago, had a bad experience, and decided to put it behind me. Now, after a year I find out what these morons actually did. On my first of three visits for one appointment I had the eye exam, picked out my glasses, and left thinking everything was good and I'd pick up my glasses in two weeks. I got the call, came to get them, put them on and immediately knew something was wrong. The left eye was blurry, and was clearly not correct. I told them this isn't right, and grudgingly they conceded and let me make another appointment to come back for another exam, free of charge. I came back after a week, did the exam, and the doctor admitted the prescription seemed off on the left eye. They sent off the glasses, and two weeks go by, I went back and pick them up. Same issue! The left eye is still all blurry. I start to get upset, but stayed calm enough to say this isn't right. They said, "If you come back for another visit then it'll be $75." I said that was fine but I wanted a different doctor this time. They agreed, and after a week I went back. When I showed up for the third appointment there were no other customers, just me. I had a business meeting that day but I thought I'll get to the eye doctor, early, check in, and be back home to get into Zoom in time. I sign in 15 minutes early, but I had to wait a few minutes, then one of the receptionists takes me back, gets my info and walks out. I look at my watch and say to myself, "Okay, my meeting is at noon, and it's 11:00 right now, so plenty of time." I live about 10 minutes from here, so I wait. And I wait. And I wait. I look down at my watch watching the minutes droll on and no eye doctor. After 27 minutes, 27 MINUTES, I finally say, "Screw this", get up and walk to the front where there are still no other patients. I say, "Give me my money back." Then the doctor comes out of his office and acts like he's going in to see me in the other room. He says, "Where are you going?" I say, "I'm leaving, you have the audacity to keep me waiting for 30 minutes. I have a meeting to go to." Then this turd says sheepishly, "I had a family emergency." Now break this down and think about it. He thinks he can just say, "family emergency" and that trumps everything. So IF it's a family emergency then why are you still here? IF it's an emergency then why didn't you get one of your receptionists to tell me I'd have to reschedule? IF it's an emergency why did you ask me where I was going? I said, "I'm done with you and this place, give me my money back." Keep in mind, the money issue is because I use my insurance and I can only go once a year. The receptionists tell me that I'll have to talk to the Office Manager. I end up talking to the Manager and she says, "Sorry, can't refund for services rendered." Okay... that's how life goes. I accept the fact that these morons exist, they have no idea what they're doing, but I'll just move on with my life and not deal with them. No point in letting them get the best of me beyond me knowing I'll never go back. THEN I FOUND OUT WHAT CAUSED THE WHOLE THING! Fast forward to today, I had to wait a year to go to the eye doctor since I had no insurance to use because of these Vision Asshats. I drive over 40 minutes to my old doctor. Take my frames from the previous year with me because I did like them and I figure I'll have to spend the money to get lenses anyway. The idea was I'd use my new insurance for the computer glasses I need, and use the frames from the previous year that caused me all the trouble, and use them for my long distance driving. After I get the exam they look at the old glasses. They say, "Yeah, these are way off in the left eye." I say, "Yeah, I thought so." So now I'm feeling good about myself that I'm not wrong, that there was an issue. So I pick out my new frames, order the old frames some new lenses for the purposes of seeing at distance and I'm about to leave. Then the lady helping with the glasses looks at me and says, "Do you want the blue block on these again?" I say, "Excuse me? You mean on the new frames, the one I ordered for when I'm on the computer?" She looks back at her hand to make sure she's holding the right ones and says, "No, the old ones. They have blue block on them." Then it hits me! I know what these geniuses at Vision Professionals did, they put in the right lens as far-sighted, and the left lens as computer distance! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Who does that? Do they expect me to close one eye when driving, or when I'm on the computer?! If this was intentional then they're malicious pieces of crap, but if an accident then they're just incompetent. Go here at your risk people, you have been warned. read more

I agree with the other patients who said their prescriptions were way off. I mean, how hard is it to read the numbers off of an autorefractor? The optometrist did not impress me at all although the short young lady that did the testing was just as nice and friendly as you will ever find. Now I have to go somewhere else to get a proper prescription. read more

Positive first experience at Vision Professionals in New Albany. Easy enough to find. Lots of parking. The office was clean and well kept. Looks like pretty much every other eye office ever. Cassidy helped me through all my tests. She was friendly and seemed quite knowledgable. Dr. Rock performed my actual exam. She listened to what I had to say about my issues and helped to explain what she was talking about by bringing up photos of my eye. It was really neat. There was a check in offer for a free visual field exam. When i mentioned this to Cassidy she had no knowledge of it, but honored it anyway. I thought that was pretty cool. Although they might want to figure out if thats supposed to exist or not. If so, make sure to check in!! It waives a $19 copay. I didn't buy any frames or lenses there, the prices were all far out of my range. read more

My wife and I have been clients for about three years. The office has nice equipment, and we have no problems scheduling appointments when we need it. However, they have given the wrong prescriptions for eyeglasses twice now. Once for my wife, now - for me. My request to verify the prescription for free was denied as I found out the problem 4 months later (not within 90 days under warranty). Have got a second opinion and found out that even the previous year prescription might be off. New lenses with the prescription from another specialist give better vision than ever (I've started wearing glasses daily 3 years ago). Also, they are not shy to upsale. Needless to say that I was frustrated. Thus, I have switched now to another optometrist with no hesitation. read more

For the first time in the 20 years I've worn contacts, I finally understand how things work with my eyes. I went in to see Dr. Cashon for multifocal lenses. I tried them a year ago at my old eye Dr and didn't get much of an explaination on the "wearing in" period and I wad just sent home with a bunch of trials. Dr. Cashon had me try a pair that was closest to my prescription and had me test them in the office. And gave me lots of information about how they work. I appreciate this!! In addition, to my terrible experience, this is an example of how they lie. On Tuesday, 03/19, I called their office and asked to speak to Cassidy. Heidi, who answered the phone, shared with me that Cassidy was on the phone. When I said I would wait; she placed me on hold. A Michelle then came on the line and said Cassidy had left the office hours ago. Again, all I was doing was inquiring about my bill. A lack of integrity. In addition to Dr Smiley's comment about the disinfectant, his assistant shared with me there is disinfectant on the eye pressure tool, hence the irritation caused to the eye, and not my sensitivity. The office is very nice, clean, well lit and open. Lots of parking. The doctor is really nice and personable. She performed a bunch of vision tests for me and got me a prescription computer glasses, which I really needed. I am on the computer day and night and then go to my ipad to read more... so my eyes were really tired. Her staff helped me try on frames and I selected a pair I liked. I only went when I HAD to get new contacts. It was conveniently located near work- But the experience was undesirable. Dr Smiley was nice and approachable, but it seemed he was always trying to up-sell me on tests, products and services. After the first time I knew not to fall for the extra tests again! They are difficult to get a hold of- never answering their phones, returning emails, and put you on hold forever. I've been to places that are MUCH better. I suggest passing on this place. read more

I just had my exam with Dr. Smiley. They did explain the optional tests and disclosed their cost. I didn't feel pressured to purchase the testing. I was shocked to find that with my VSP coverage, glasses were still going to cost me over $400. I felt i had no options and nearly purchased them. Luckily I didn't and I found the exact same frames, exact same lenses online for a cost of $238. I wanted to support a local business but these prices are too expensive.Get your Rx and purchase your glasses somewhere else. Staff was nice and knowledgeable. read more
