I have been going here for about 2 years, but I think it's time to go find a business that cares…read moreabout client needs. These two stars are only because I had a good eye exam experience with them, and it was a delight working with Dr. Jay. I think their rude manager and staff, and overall reluctance to help is their problem. I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses from them about a month ago. At the time of ordering they told me that it would be ready in two weeks. I leave for a month-long trip out of the country in two days and that was the sole reason I ordered the glasses so far in advance. After multiple calls to enquire, all they keep giving me is answers like we can't do anything to expedite them, our hands are tied, our insurance dictates the lab, etc. I have been with the same insurance for 8 years so it's hard for me to see how my insurance suddenly has stopped working efficiently. They behaved as if I never mentioned my month-long trip ever. They are leaving me voicemails saying your glasses will be ready next Wednesday and the team will promptly call you. Well, my phone will be off and I won't be in the country next Wednesday. One of their rude employees even said "I know everyone would rather have their stuff expedited and have them before time", well after a month of waiting I feel I am hardly asking to "expedite" anything prematurely. The manager didn't even return my call back because I missed her first call and she left me a voicemail after that when I returned her call she wasn't available an di could never get hold of her. It's like they have just decided to not help customers out AT ALL. They are not ready to accept any blame or fix anything and talk to me as if I am at fault for their incompetence. After so many good reviews, I genuinely thought I had found a good optometry in my new community as I value local businesses so much but I am reluctant to do any transaction with them in the future. I know losing ONE customer might not affect businesses but I shouldn't have to beg for good customer service. I am highly saddened and disappointed as a customer to be working with businesses that have no heart, soul, or empathy.

An inexperienced clerk almost sold me incorrect frames and struggled to get the prescription right on the computer. Over and over again she said out loud the wrong information and I had to correct her. I just didn't feel comfortable having her in charge of the purchase. Another clerk helped me, seemingly more knowledgeable. She ordered frames for me to try on before I buy, since they didn't have the ones I wanted in stock. That was two weeks ago, but they said it would be a couple of days. No phone call, no one picks up the phone, and you get this text on your cell phone when you call, asking you what they can help you with, but they never respond to it. This place is a black hole, with young kids running the desk and not answering the phone. There is rarely anyone there, and I can now see why. They are not busy, they are not working.

He explained I had severe dry eyes and gave me a plan to help. It's been 2 months and having had eye pain for years, I no longer suffer. I now use Oasis artificial tears (preservative free), OcuSoft eyelid scrub and warm wet compress on eyes everyday. My eyes never felt better. He did not try to sell me glasses I don't need or talk me into surgery I don't need. One opthamologist even tried to put a needle in my eyes and wasn't giving me anytime to even think about it so I walked out. Give Dr Bloomberg a try. You will be very happy you did.

He was masked, of course, and spoke quite softly. (Even the staff at the desk chuckled about this. I didn't). I asked him to speak more loudly, which he did for about 30 seconds then sunk back to inaudible. His accent made things even more difficult. In addition, he really was on auto-pilot, probably after having said similar things to hundred of previous patients. I think he might have said a number of important things about the eye exam, but I couldn't make out what he was saying. I figured I'd just read it in his report on the eye exam, but all I received was a printout of my prescription, nothing about the results of the exam. I would not go back there for an exam. Too much money, too little information.

I told her that I didn't want this particular one but would like the same model. She said ok and will talk with the manufacturer. One week later, I went to pick up the sunglasses only to find out that they sloppily super-glued the logo back on and that there was nothing else they can do about it. No exchange or refund. Only issue I have is the frames that are covered under the insurance is not the best quality. Even if I paid a little extra for something that suits my daughter's style better it will still come apart or break within the year. Last year, the side screws on the frames kept popping out. Luckily, I was able to take it back and switch out the frame easily. This year the whole arm snapped off while my daughter was cleaning her lens. Unfortunately, they no longer carry the same frame so I couldn't replace it. Insurance won't cover for another frame or eye exam at this time. My poor daughter is wearing super glued glasses for now. I work for an Ophthalmology/Optometry practice so I opted to go through work for an employee discount instead. I'll still use them to get a back up pair when it's time to go through the insurance.

I was immediately met by someone who was helping someone else but she made sure I was checked in and had all the paperwork first. At first look, the office looked organized, clean and had excellent lighting which is important. I was immediately brought back and an assistant went through all the pre procedure tests and then I was met by Dr. Duong and she was amazing. She quickly got to the exam and was very helpful in explaining the whole process and findings in a very clear manner. She was very attentive, personable and thorough. I highly recommend seeing her. Once the exam was finished, I took at a look at the frame section which included a lot of top brands including Nike, Gucci, Lacoste, ray ban and many more. The only negative thing would be that I was not really assisted in the process of choosing which frame or which frame may be good with my particular face structure. I was just advised to take a look around and let them know if I had questions. The staff did provide good feedback on the questions I asked but it would have been nice to have them assist a little more. Overall I would definitely recommend Excel and highly recommend Dr. Duong.
