We used to go to another dentist's office. It was OK at the very beginning, and later on, my parents were not very happy there. So I checked online and as well as with friends. Dr. He seems not to have a lot of reviews and based on what I found; I think it is worth to giving a try. I started to bring my parents there this year. Currently, we are doing dentures there. According to the insurance policy, I have to pay out of pocket. But Dr. He thought my dad should be qualified to cover his spending. On the first try, our application was denied. But Dr. He thought it was because we should submit more detailed info. Honestly, I really appreciate Dr. He's help and consideration because it's quite a pressure to pay for both of my parents out of pocket which is more than 6 thousand dollars. Dr He cleaned her teeth and explained her xray in detail，giving us a treatment plan and let us decide which treatment we wanna to get. The crown prices are cheaper than those in my previous dental clinic. I have a tiny cavity， my previous dentist told me to fill it. And I asked Dr He and some other dentists， they agree that the cavity is so tiny that I didnt have to fill it now，but observed it ，brushing my teeth carefully and using floss daily. Check the cavity every half year，it's very likely to become an "arrested caries" . If it continues decaying in the future， it's not late to fill it then. I spent the better part of the last couple years paranoid about my teeth and my breath, and I was sure my next trip to the dentist would be a horrific experience. When I finally made the commitment to change that, I called P.E.D. to schedule an exam and x-rays. That was no problem at all. Easy stuff. Then we scheduled an appointment for a deep cleaning (which I've always hated, even though I desperately needed one). I went in nervous, but committed. The Novocaine injections have always been painful to me, especially when I wasn't caring for my teeth and the decay and bacteria made my gums particularly sensitive. I don't know how he's doing it, but when Dr. He gave me the topical and quickly after gave me the shot, it wasn't painful. Okay, there was one instance where I reacted, but that was me. He and his assistant quickly put me at ease and the rest was smooth sailing. I didn't *feel* particularly numb, which worried me, but I was able to relax and let him do his job. To my surprise, the deep cleaning was absolutely painless and without discomfort. I didn't even mind the scraping part so much, which normally I hated the most. He finished the right side (top and bottom) in under 30 minutes. I was amazed. I've never known a dentist to be so fast and efficient. All the while, he was soothing and understanding and kind. My next deep cleaning appointment (for the left side) was equally painless and without trouble. Today, I went to have a very large cavity fixed. So large, in fact, Dr. He kept saying things like, "So big, very big," as he drilled away the decay. It took a lot of restraint not to chuckle at that while the drill was spinning in my mouth, because he was right. Incidentally, this appointment was also painless and no sweat. Again, I don't know how he does it. I've often had a higher tolerance to Novocaine and would often start feeling again during whatever procedure was going on. Not here. He's very good. My fear of going to see a dentist is gone. I've seen Dr. He four times now and I am sticking with him until he retires. Period. Originally, I was at another dentistry and I paid to have them fill up a cavity for me. For the next few months, I was experiencing a lot of pain-- while biting down on food and whenever that tooth came in contact with hot or cold stuff. This went on for a while until I figured it wasn't just post-dental work pain and I checked with the original dentistry and they said I needed a root canal (the dentists who had worked on my teeth before didn't realise and just treated it as a normal cavity) The cost was estimated to be around over $2000 for the root canal and I did some searching and found Poway Elite Dentistry. I was in serious need to get two wisdom teeth removed and I called everywhere in San Diego..no one offered removal for less than $1,000 PER TOOTH.
