We visited with the owner, Tom Arnold in his great looking store. Tom educated us about carpet and padding. After we placed an order, we found that his pricing for the carpet, padding and labor were still less than other competitors. His installer, Favio did a beautiful job installing the carpet. I found Poway Carpets on Yelp and recently went in to get a quote for some carpeting. I had been to a few places prior to compare so kind of knew what I was doing. Met the owner himself Tom who is one of the nicest most genuine guys you'll ever meet. Not only is his store immaculate but he is a sharp dressed man with great style which is so great to see! He was not the cheapest bid I received however his quality of product as well as service stood out big time ! You will always get what you pay for and with Tom you are going to get the best! In fact, he refuses to even carry the lower quality carpeting and flooring because he knows it's just not going to last. His number one priority is making sure his customers are not only happy but that they're happy for a very long time. Now that's integrity folks!! Awesome, awesome, awesome! If you need new carpeting, look no further than Tom Arnold's Poway Carpets! He hits it perfectly on pricing, customer service and installation. Pricing - the total price of the carpet, pad, moving furniture, installation is calculated into square yard at the time you buy. No hidden added costs later, it's all there. Tom came in under HALF of what Cole's QUOTED and Tom's price was the total price we paid, not a penny more and we didn't skimp on the carpet or padding, in fact, we went up for the best and I've no doubt Coles or Home Depot could have come close. Customer Service - I went to Tom's store and told him what I had been looking at and what I wanted and he showed me plenty of wonderful choices. He came to Univ City to bring the samples I had seen in the store and to measure after he closed on a Saturday - I don't know many people who would leave work to drive 30 mins to measure for an estimate - there was no guarantee, no pressure and no need to put down a $50 deposit to bring over a sample. Nope, the owner personally came and delivered the samples and measured our place. We knew we weren't going to give the business to anyone else after that! Installation - someone who takes pride in his overall service only looks to find the best installers - and they are AMAZING! Steve led our installation and we are a condo up several flight of stairs. Steve and his apprentice were very easy to talk to, very friendly and always smiling and answering our questions. They came in, took the lay of the land, and immediately started moving furniture out into different rooms. Within 30 minutes of them arriving ON TIME, the carpet was completely removed in half the condo. These two were the two most hardworking gentlemen I've seen in a LONG time! There was no stress in our installation, it was a fantastic experience and we had our whole house put back together within 6 hours (and they moved everything back, asked if they could help with anything else and were just wonderful!) All in all you just can't beat what Tom Arnold can do for you and your flooring needs at Poway Carpets! This guy is a really nice guy and yes, you do meet the guy in the ads! We walked in and he spent at least 15 minutes explaining about carpeting and carpet pads. Very low pressure and there was plenty of carpet to look at. I especially appreciated their straightforward pricing scheme, all prices include pad and installation! I took a star off because they only sell Shaw carpets because they have a deal with them and are obviously very biased in favor of that brand. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Shaw makes some great carpets but do your own homework. Nearly everyone has told us that their carpet has the best warranty and that their padding is the best, but that said, shopping at Poway Carpet was a nice experience. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I think everyone shopping around for flooring deserves the same great experience I received from Poway Carpets. My husband and I recently purchased a condo in Serra Mesa and did not have a lot of money to do the necessary fixes. We did a lot of searching to figure out the best way to make our pennies stretch. At first, we decided to look into Home Depot, but we backed out at the last moment because, even though the company advertises good deals, a lot of additional costs ended up being added to their overall estimate. I did some more homework on the internet and came across Tom (the owners') video ad. I got good vibes so my husband and I paid a visit. I'm so grateful we did. Not only did the price stay true to the original estimate, but the customer service was amazing! The installers, as well as the owner were friendly, courteous, and efficient. My only regret is not visiting Poway Carpets sooner. I highly, highly recommend this to all the San Diegans in search of flooring, it's worth the drive. read more
