Ok, I went there a couple times in their first couple days of both soft and official opening weekend and I have to say that I do LOVE the retro cool renovations, the special local decor touches and the general ambiance provided by the open-concept room with a mix of seating options, a respectable alternative/alt-country playlist and an ever-friendly staff. Altho they do not yet have skee-ball and other gaming options like the other locations, there are some dart boards and a retro bubble hockey game! The real applause should directed to the beer selections and the down-to-a-science technology inherent to the extensive pour your own / pay-by-the-ounce tap wall. The only glitch was that there was no wine on tap, but that, and the glass-rinsing mechanism, are apparently still in the works. The best part of the set up though is probably the variety - in addition to 2 wines, they will be looking to keep 2 ciders, 2 meads and a hard seltzer or 2, as well as the 15 or so beer taps representing the gamut of styles. I can also say that at least initially, the choices were well thought out and include a couple not found elsewhere locally. In addition to a digital (UnTappd) beer board in front, the thing that may be most helpful for those that prefer to not "do the math", above each tap someone has chalked in a style listing with the equivalent cost (10 or 16-oz depending on style) per glass. I see a good number of whiskey options and am told they have a nice cocktail list too. The ownership/management team behind this 4th central Illinois franchise location seem to be great people and are already entertaining expansion plans. As a fan of what they've done here downtown, hopefully they can avoid the curse(s) the previous establishments ran into at this locale and their focused expedient work will be repaid. If you're looking for some unique refreshment and a cool, downtown vibe...check'em out.

Place is awesome!! The bartender/waiter named Nick is a great guy, delicious merlot wine and Irish beer plus games on the back of the place, preety fun, clean and nice, I'm going back every weekend if I can, also, my buddy left his ID and they waited outside just so he could take it, 100% recommended

    First crush cider is awesome!

Great spot for beer lovers with super knowledgeable staff. I'm not a huge beer girl, but I found a cider I loved (first crush - it tastes like a jolly rancher) and went with it. Hidden gem is the popcorn machine!

Great selection and so much fun to hang out here! Definitely worth checking out if in the downtown Champaign area. I loved that they had some seasonal flavors as well.

This is another neat idea for Champaign! I heard about the pour as you go bars in Chicago, but never got around to going to them. It was nice to have one here in Champaign. They have a lot of different beers to pour and some wine and spirits as well. I love the interior design and everything is clean (Hopefully forever!) Staff was also helpful and friendly! They also have a few games to play, which makes hanging out here even better. Will be back!

Probably one of the better places in Champaign for games and beer. Pour your own drinks, allows you to try many before committing to one drink. The games in the back are entertaining. Wish there was more of a crowd, but then again, I went on a weekday.

Why was it 15$ for one pour, and a half pour?? I pay less on the city, which is a bit ridiculous

Kemp's is probably the best place to go eat in town it seems. A good reason is because there's not much else. The food is pretty average but there's some good things for adults and families. Chill atmosphere even at times when it's crowded. It's located in the middle of downtown or whatever you call it. There's not a whole lot else to go to for a meal. Certainly explains why it gets busy. People only have a few choices and this is one of these. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail. Whole lot of great stuff including whiskey. It's about $5 to get appetizers. We got the Chips And Salsa. Has a lot of greasy fried things like wings and other meats. The menu is pretty standard as far as fried stuff. Has a lot of the basics. It's closed Sundays. That's pretty strange for them to lose out on all that revenue on weekends.

Fantastic local pub in downtown Lexington, Illinois. We selected this location as it already had…read moregreat reviews and was very close to the northeast trailhead of the "Constitution Trail" of the Bloomington/Normal area. The staff here was fabulous with a special shout-out to John. What I found particularly impressive was the amazing selection of craft brews for a small town. The staff was particularly knowledgeable about both the selection and even the breweries that supplied them! I even found some of my favorite and uncommon Chicagoland brews, although I selected some excellent brews from the Bloomington/Normal area. ( Drink local!) Food was wonderful and quickly delivered. I gave five stars on food because it is top quality relative to pubs in general. The Blue Cheese burger was great. I sampled the butterflied pork chop sandwich of the other meal we had and that was a standout! Ambiance is nice as if fitting a local pub in an older downtown building. One notable feature is the walls and ceiling are covered in banners and flags of various kinds which dramatically limits the amount of background noise that would normally be in such a building. There is also a nice outdoor beer garden. This local establishment is well worth the extra minutes off Interstate 55. Also highly recommended to cycling who travel out to the northeast terminus of the trail!
