Like a fine wine or a good beer, Riggs has aged to perfection. I am afraid that this little secret…read morehas gotten out as this is still one of the best breweries in the entire state. Their beer is fresh, varied in types, and the whole vibe is still German bier garden. While we are talking about heavy hitter German brews, this place is oddly affordable, but still a thief to your wallet (in the best way possible). They started to bring food trucks around which is a good call. I look forward to come to CU so that I can stop by! This place is still the real deal and it's insane that it's in Central Illinois. How lucky they are to have this kind of place!

Their Blue Pils is the most authentic German pils I've had in the US. Service was great as well Juan was fun and did a fantastic job. Food was very good. I had the Poblano Chili Burger. It was good but I would do one of their other dishes next time. My son had the Bangers and Mash. It was really good. That is one of the things I would go for next time. Heck I forgot about the wings and baby back rib appetizer thumbs up there as well. The property is very well kept and it's the right amount of noise for a bar but still able to have a normal conversation.

It's a nice vibe inside and seems like it would be fun on a game day. But the service was incredibly slow-- we were waiting for our drinks, appetizer, and food each individually for a very long time. I am not sure if grad weekend was unaccounted for in staffing or something of the sort but I was certainly tough and we narrowly escaped being late to the ceremony, not due to our own poor planning. Another note-- our waitress was lovely and it was not her fault! Also the onion rings are presented in a ridiculous way

You can see the kitchen from the dining area which definitely adds to the experience. I tried the Butter Chicken and Chicken Vindaloo and both were very delicious. The Vindaloo was spicy and the chicken was cooked to perfection.
