Having traveled a long way to be in Eugene (OK, well, Springfield) for a family medical instance, I needed a respite and someplace to get some work done. Riverbend unknowingly provided exactly that. A 16 oz. cup of their dark roast ran me $2.25, which is an absurdly low price in today's economy. I married that with a coffee cake muffin, which had a very short lifespan. The menu has plenty to choose from; all of the standards between latte to Americano, baked goods plus biscuits and gravy on the ready. My coffee and muffin were delivered with a smile and a friendly reminder of ensuring that the Wi-Fi password had a capital letter in it. Seating is in the large vestibule of the International Market building, but that's all I really needed. I refilled my coffee and slurped it down twice while being able to stay productive and enjoy a quiet environment. Riverbend Coffee wasn't what I was expecting, but it was EXACTLY what I wanted and, more importantly, what I needed.

The quality of their ingredients is good - probably the best I've found in the Eugene/Springfield area. Their vegan cinnamon roll is also good - rich/sweet frosting that balances well with the pastry that isn't dry and is sweet enough that makes you keep going in for the next bite. They have a bright, rustic interior with high ceilings, a variety of indoor/outdoor seating, and surrounded by a few local businesses (spice & tea, antique, plant stores). The locals apparently help run the store as one of the locals just grabs a coffee pot and walks around offering to refill coffee cups lol!! The breakfast burrito is outstanding.
