I was in and out within 3 minutes or so when another consumer pulled up, got out of his truck and asked the employee standing at the exit door if they were still open, the guy says "yes, do you know what you're looking for?" the guy says "yes" and they allowed him in. I appreciate and respect the businesses who close when their posted business hours say they close; too many employees are taking it upon themselves to close early and that to Me just seems unacceptable! Walking in, you are greeted by the smiling faces of team members willing to guide you to what you need. They make the buying process fast and efficient. The paint department was knowledgeable about interior decor, helping to select the right color for my needs. They were quick in custom mixing and the final product was exact. Although a small store, Erik was able to order in anything I needed and have it in a couple days. Their blade sharpening service was also drastically faster than anywhere else from Fort Collins to Greeley - with a 2 day turn around compared to 2 weeks elsewhere. While this store may be a out of the way, you're much better served coming here over the other stores in Northern Colorado.

The product selection is solid, but what really stood out is the level of customer service. It's rare these days to find retail staff who go above and beyond, and these two certainly did (even humoring me as I reminisced about my own time working in retail). As a funny side note, I even got the chance to chase after a customer and his dog after he accidentally left a dog bone behind at the counter. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough to return it--maybe he'll return for his purchase! I provided proof of employment and proof that I'm the manager, yet they still refused, demanding a letter. On top of that, they questioned what I was going to use the key for, as if I were a criminal. Frustrated, I went to a proper locksmith--no authorization required, no unnecessary questioning, and the key was made without hassle. Won't be returning here.

I received an order confirmation email from Ace. I called the store today to see if I could pick up the trimmer tomorrow and was told that their computer said not to fulfill the order. The rep suggested that I place the order again. I tried repeatedly to log in to Ace's website and even tried to order the trimmer as a guest, but the website was dysfunctional. So I found a similar trimmer at Lowes for $153 and ordered it there. I figured it was worth $13 to me to buy a trimmer without all the hassle I had to go through with Ace.

The quality of the products they offer is often higher than what I find at the big box stores; and I'd rather buy something which will work well and last a long time than buy multiple iterations of lower quality products. Their downstairs area has top quality grills, and a fantastic selection. It's a gem of a hardware store.
