It was also very crowded (nothing the store could do about that though) and some of the workers seemed a bit annoyed, although I would too if I had to work in that heat. The only place where you could feel the AC was in the YA section. Most of the books were 2nds or 3rds of a series and I had a hard time finding any firsts of a series. Also some of the books look as if they are second hand and are damaged?? The book I bought was slightly damaged I did not realize it until I was in the car but I'm sure I can try to fix it. It is a beautiful store though and I'm sure the atmosphere would feel way better if it did not feel so hot in there lol.

Since my kids were small, we've included a pass through Estes Ark on our way out of Estes Park along highway 36 towards Loveland. Driving up to the ark is always exciting for the kiddos, as is the walk from the parking lot along the "deck" to the front door. Stepping inside, the ark is a wide open space with catwalks along a second level. Every square inch of it is packed with animals and, newly on my recent visit, additional trinkets. We had one child who is fond of foxes, another who like Corgis and both were able to choose form a variety of options. The fullness of the store makes for a sense of discovery. On a vacation in particular, it's nearly impossible to resist making some purchases. Companionship for the long drive back to Texas. I highly recommend Estes Ark if you're passing through this beautiful town.

I loved browsing the store! I'm always drawn to the magnets selection. They sell "Oxygen To Go!" canisters in case you need some at this higher altitude or if you ascend to greater heights in Rocky Mountain National Park! Says it's good for recovery - even for hangovers! There is an entire section near the restrooms that is full of black bear figurines and other decorations. So cute! If you're hungry, there is a restaurant here as well. We didn't eat there, so I don't know the quality or what's offered. We ended up exiting the Rocky Mountain National Park at the Fall River Station when we saw this and decided to stop in at the end of the day. We initially went to the Visitor Center before walking over here. After scouring most of the items here, I did take home a few little things to remember my time in the RMNP. The lady who rung us up was friendly and even offered me a free small paper bag for my magnets. Other places were charging for them. It can be a keepsake as well since it is printed with the store's name. This is a good place to shop, kill some time, and chill.

He told us about frozen lake, and even showed us the route on a map, which not many people know about or go to, and it ended up being one of our best hikes. One great item in the store is their 1$ trail patches. For every big lake, waterfall, or peak you climb, you can get a patch to remember it. They make great inexpensive souvenirs for hikers. They also have a wall of last minute hiking essentials like first aid and survival tools. All together an amazing place, would give it more stars if I could.
