My preferred FFL, and spot for property essentials. They have all the selection of SCHEELS without the overload of choices and they only stock what works and works well. Definitely get a rewards membership too, it's free and they give you coupons every month that are just another reason to go here. Half the time when I go I only intend to browse or price check things and end up leaving with $100 to $200 worth of items that anywhere else would have have way more. Staff is all super friendly. Above and beyond customer service from Tammy! I was having a hard time getting some lock nuts to screw in sufficiently on a new workout bench. Not only did Tammy help me locate a socket wrench set that would work on the lock nuts, but when I was still having trouble at home screwing in the lock nuts with the socket wrench set, I was able to physically bring the workout bench to the store and she personally helped me screw in all the lock nuts (making sure I understood how to do it). read more

This is my go-to hardware store because of their helpful customer assistance. I recently replaced a kitchen faucet and ran into an issue while trying to connect the water lines. One of the Ace staff steered me to the correct part - which I had no idea would solve the problem, but it worked like a charm. Their free assembly and delivery of large items such as snow blowers and grills is a big plus in my book. These days, I only patronize big box hardware stores if I need overpriced lumber. read more

I just want to give a huge thanks to Liam in the firearms department. I bought my sidearm at SW and when I had trouble with its operation and brought it back to SW the order taker put a form in front of me and said "since you didn't buy our extended service plan it'll be $50 to send it off to be looked at"..wtf, i thought, I only had it one day and hadn't even fired it. After speaking to the store manager Rick at SW he informed me they are "not experts" when it came to firearms. This upset me. So I figured I'd find an expert. Having been to this Ace before and getting great service in the past I decided to bring it in and ask for help. Liam took time to review a video I made of my issue, checked my firearm and then proceeded to discuss with me what was going on. I'm not sure if this is an assessment as much as it is an observation. I thought it was great that Ace offered the coupons to Eagles fans for the gnome giveaway on Friday, 2/10. We were able to get gnomes on Friday but very happy to also have a chance to get gnomes for my nephews who were unable to attend the game but a big fan of the player the gnome was create for. All we had to do was buy $10 (each) to use the coupons to get a free gnome. It all worked out and we got the gnomes but really surprised at the limitations of what qualified for the purchase. Seems the whole point was to bring in new customers, or reconnect with old customers, and that the sales were a bonus on top of getting people in the door. So it seemed strange to make a purchase but then be declined in front of everyone and have items taken out of the bag. From past experience, customer service was always great at the loveland location but it was embarrassing and I'm sure I won't be back. It was a perfect opportunity to remind customers why they're a great store but the result was the exact opposite. read more

Helpful people. Huge Selection. Quality products. Like a lot of people, I kind of got in the habit of going to the big box and discount stores. A few months ago, I replaced my kitchen faucet with one from a bigger store. It lasted less than six months and flooded my kitchen. I knew I had to start buying quality products. Ace has ALWAYS had great quality. I decided to go back to shopping at Ace. We had a project (putting in new doors) and wanted to get quality paint and doorknobs. I am so glad we went to Ace in Orchards Center. The sales are really good if you watch their fliers. But the people are what makes the difference. You can't wander for more than a couple of minutes without someone asking if they can help you. And they all know their stuff or will find someone to answer you questions. Was sent to Ace in Loveland, Co by the Windsor Ace because Windsor didn't have my part. I was treated rudely right off the bat by a man named James. I'm female and was trying to repair my faucet. I was told rudely nobody called the store. The person who took the message (John, I was told by Windsor store) didn't even work there. No John works there. Windsor probably called the wrong store. There is only one Ace in Loveland. He was rummaging through the parts looking for what I needed. James kept asking questions, such as, How did I know Windsor didn't have the part? I don't suppose you know the brand name? When I asked if he could be nicer he replied I am you want me to help you or what? I try to support local business, but I will never step foot in Loveland Ave again. I will go to Lowe's or Home Depot. read more

A great place to get help. I'm a widow and need help often but enjoy maintaining my home and DIY projects. They have removed tough screws and even attached a wheel for me to my rolling carry-on luggage. I like the personal care and interest they show to each customer. This place has the best selection of kitchen gadgets! Kitchen wares, tools, gadgets, canning necessities, and decoratives rival the kitchen stores that are a good half hour drive away. That, and the wall of nuts and bolts and things that you can buy by the weight or piece, is worth a visit alone. No more being forced to buy 2 paks of 6 pieces when you need 8. Superstar customer service! I came in to buy metal J channel mirror retaining clips. They're hard to find. I had looked up the product beforehand on Ace's website and saw the product was available in the Orchards store. The first employee looked for it and couldn't find it where the mirror hardware is. He tried looking it up in the store computer without success. He asked a fellow employee, Mike, for assistance. I explained to Mike that I saw this specific product on the Ace website and that it shows "available" at the Orchards store, Mike looked it up and and it took some time to locate it and determine where it was in the store. Turned out they were in a completely different department. Kudos to Mike for going above and beyond in helping find the product in a courteous and knowledgeable fashion. read more

Placed an online order at ACEHardware.com and set it for pick up here. It specifically said on their website I would get a confirmation when ready for pick up when they pull the item as it was in stock. Went in yesterday to pick it up after I got the confirmation email and what a poor experience I had there and probably will never deal with this place again as a result. The cashier sent me to the back where an older guy first said he didn't know anything about any online orders they had. I showed him my purchase receipt and then he went to the floor to try and find the item. There were none on the shelf and I told him if I got a pickup confirmation email don't they have a holding area in back they set aside for online orders? He went in back and sure enough it was there after he originally told me he didn't know about any online orders awaiting pick up. WTF? How do you work here and not know where to first look? Horrible experience and I will avoid this place in the future. read more

I had a bad customer service experience . I ordered over the phone paid in full for a Weber grill as a gift for Christmas .....Management and the gang screwed up my order and then told me I never paid for it as well as my sister when she went to pick it up .......It's ok .....Next time I'll give my business to Weber.com and get it direct . They made it right 1 .5 weeks after the date i was promised , put together and delivered it to my sister . The guy James needs to learn a-bit more about communication with other personnel on other shifts and make sure customers are taken care of .....Justin and James need experience in what products they sell . I suffered a broken bolt on my bicycle rack one day, luckily Orchards Ace Hardware was nearby. The person who helped me found suitable replacements that won't break in the future, and then he went the extra mile by drilling out the broken bolt for me so that I could install the replacement. This store is great! I'm a woman and have always been treated with respect. I come here a lot and its always a welcoming and friendly place! Customer service is great! I have come in with some unique home repair challenges and customer service has always helped me figure solutions. I've been coming to Ace for years and have always felt welcome. (I came back to add this to my rating after I posted my review and saw some other lady's review says she didn't feel treated with respect and she blamed it on sexism. What a load of BS. Well I don't know what her communication skills or personality were like, but I have never had any issues at Ace. Ask intelligent questions and you'll get intelligent answers. Seeing her comment upset me because I love this place and felt a need to defend it! Guessing this lady may not be the sharpest tool in the shed and THAT might be her real problem, and that has nothing to do with being female! I'm a woman and i go to the hardware section all the time and get help. Recently I changed the timing belt and waterpump on my car and came to Ace to get a uniquely threaded bolt after one snapped. Ive done plumbing repairs and all kinds of technical repairs and I have gotten great customer service every time. Far from just going in to buy some candy or dishes! It is upsetting to see some idiot falsely claim sexisim when I KNOW its not the case. I chalk this woman's experience up to her own 'issues' and insecurities. If she felt like people were looking at her strange I have to wonder if she was wearing mismatched shoes or forgot to brush her hair that day, or perhaps having a really bad attitude and being rude. (That sure would explain things!) Im a woman and I love ACE!!!! They help me get what I need to fix what needs to be fixed. And they are lovely people! Have been there hundreds of times over the years. I actually ENJOY going there! :) (I often dread going to home depot or lowes because they are so large. Its hard to find things there that im not familiar with and often takes a while to find someone to help me. Good luck finding someone to help you at Home Depot or Lowes!) When I know I can find something at Ace, its a relief because I prefer to shop there. I actually enjoy shopping there and the friendly staff makes it an enjoyable experience. Great Store but very disappointed with the employees. Apparently if you're female, even if you've been looking at something for a while (and its not in the housewares section), you don't matter, and on several occasions we've been igonored as the employee offers help to the guy that just walked in. And the employees don't seem to be aware of their own facial expressions as the male employees blatantly gawk at well-endowed women and young teenage girls, even telling coworkers and male customers nearby to, "look at that!" The female employees aren't much better, and one of the female employees stares rudely at female customers even while talking in a sweet tone of voice. It's sad that in this day and age sexism is alive and well at Ace Hardware. Fortunately there are plenty of other places who want our business and we are happy to take all of our business elsewhere both now, as we're doing a complete remodel of our recently purchased 45 year old home, and for everything we need for years to come. Found out from an ex employee that Ace won't take returns on items that don't work, even if you bring it back immediately. Thanks for letting us know, we'll stick to reputable stores that stand behind the products they sell. read more

OK, these guys are not with it. The store has great stuff and lots of it, but, oh the problems I have with what apparently challenges the staff. The disaster that inspired this rant-review: I decide to buy online and pick it up in the store, because Orchards comes up as the only store in Colorado that has my items in stock. I have to go to work, so can't wait for the confirmation e-mail, but decide that, ordered at 9:00, in-stock stuff will surely be ready when I get there at 2:30. The staff don't know who I am or anything about an order. "Did they call you?" Is frequently asked. I wait alone at the service desk for various paged staff members, eventually helped by a different set than those paged. They insist my order will be ready Friday. (It's Wednesday). They SHOW me one of the items I ordered, but won't give it to me until they get the order. Someone will call me, they say. Friday comes and what has happened in the meantime? An e-mail saying Orchards can't fill part of my order. I do get another e-mail saying my order is ready. I go to at least get that and...no one knows who I am or anything about an order. I wait a really long time at the service desk before I'm noriced. What has them stumped this time is the lack of anything in the back room and why I got an e-mail, because nobody called me. I show a staff member my order, he thinks it's something completely different than what it clearly says it is and when I show him what I ordered, he doesn't think it can be right, because the numbers don't match. He wonders how the computer knows something is ready to pick up, because, you guessed it, nobody called me. I insist it's right, the price is the same, he reluctantly allows me to have the thing that was in stock this entire time. Even though nobody called me. The worst part is, this thing turned out to be kind of worthless and I might like to return it, but...YEAH. And, NOOOOOOO!!!! NOBODY CALLED ME!!! read more

I recently received a coupon in the mail for 20 percent off, Brats and music etc. It also said that the first 100 PEOPLE would receive a tool bag free. I really wasn't interested in a bag but was in line to get into the store and purchase some items with the 20 percent off. While in line a lady was handing out coupons for the tools bag. I had just got to her when she said to me. " The tool bags are only for the Men". EXCUSE ME but the was not what your advertisement said. I went inside and there stood two men. I ask them do you think woman do not have tools? There response was that this was for the men and in November they have a same thing for woman. I beleive that this is false advertising. It is also discriminatory to woman. This is not the first time I have been in this store and felt out of place and treated like I am stupid because I am a woman. I live alone and am totally responsible for myself, I build things for my house, I have a double tool box, I resent being treated like I am less important than the men customers. I will not shop here again. There are ace Hardwares in other nearby towns and have never been treated like this in the two I have visited before. read more

Without a doubt, the best "hardware" store around. Very friendly staff, always available to help with answers and, their inventory throughout the store is incredible. Almost makes you feel like you're in a time warp, back in the good old days of "hardware shopping". My particular favorite part of the store is the firearms/camping section. They actually sell firearms just like the old hardware stores of days past! And, their inventory is unsurpassed. The variety of firearms they carry offers an item for any and all sportsmen.
