Everything with my account is resolved. The staff is helpful and knows where everything is. Ace is ~5 minutes from my home. Lowe's is about 20 minutes. Usually, when working on a project, I forget something. It's great to have Ace so close. It greatly reduces time spent. read more

Recently went to this store for some wall hooks. Each time I pass by the staff, they all asked me if I need any help or help me find something. I have been to this store several times and I get the same treatment each time. Even the cashier would ask me if I found what i was looking for. The store manager trained their staff very well. The helpful place? I searched for a storage shed online and the Windsor location said they had them in stock. We drove out there Sunday morning to pick it up. We asked, what seemed to be the manager, where they were located. She quickly snapped back at me, "we don't have the room to store those, I don't have any! Those are items I'd have to order" I then told her online said she had them in stock she just repeated herself, she never then apologized or offered to help just walked away. It's seems like we were bothering her and she had no intention of helping us at all. read more

We purchased a Weber grill online (Amazon). Day 3 of owning it, a wind gust blew it over and busted the control plate, nobs and bent the manifold. We ordered new parts from Weber but still could not line up the holes with the nobs and manifold posts. We called Ace to see if we could bring it to them and pay them to fix it. Not only did they, Candy sent Alex to our house to repair. Alex had it fixed in 10 minutes. He was polite, fast and very knowledgeable of the grill. Anything we can buy from ACE going forward we will! Having the after purchase customer service is more valuable than you think. Appreciate you Candy and Alex. I have used Ace hardware in Windsor a couple times a year since they opened. They are definitely not my first choice but since it is a drive anywhere else I make do. Every time I have been in needing help I am met with incompetence. The high school kids that are employed there can be rude and don't know what the heck they are doing. Numerous times i have been given bad advice and sold the wrong products. Today was the final straw as I actually had a young lady tell me that I did not have work done on a screen when I had just picked it up a few days ago. I can expect some incompetence from young kids but its another story to have an employee tell me "no you didn't" and argue with me. If you need knowledge and courtesy you might try a different company. read more

Jay walked with me to find each item, making me smile the entire time. Kimberly got me through checkout, kept me smiling & helped me save $10. A regular at this Ace for several years since moving to Windsor. Service has always been good...sometimes too good as employees tend to hover instead of leaving you to shop and make decisions on your own when you let them know you don't need help. My issue is not product or customer service. It is this store's apparent decision to no longer recognize and support our active duty military and veterans by way of the modest 10% discount it formerly offered. This the same discount offered to our military community by Lowe's and Home Depot. For this reason I'm no longer able to support the Windsor Ace store and ask you voice your opinion as well if you support our folks in uniform and Veterans. Thanks. read more

Our first visit to the Windsor ACE Hardware was excellent. Staff was helpful, friendly, and available. The prices on individual items may be slightly above what you can find at Lowes and Home Depot, but they are not outrageous by any means and ACE does run specials and on some of the sale items we looked at they actually beat the big boxes. I have been to this store a dozen or more times. As with all Ace Hardware stores, the prices are a little inflated compared to the big boxes but if you want immediate service and don't want to be there forever, go to Ace. The staff at this particular store is great and most of the time they have what I need. In and out in 10 minutes or less. read more

What has changed at the Windsor Ace Hardware? I made a purchase today, presented my military ID for a 10% discount and was told they no longer will be giving a military discount. So disappointed. I like to support local businesses, but customer service is horrible here. The managers, Stephanie and Brian, are rude and unprofessional.

I have attempted to purchase products from this Ace Hardware multiple times. The first time I attempted to call the store and find out if they had a certain product in stock. After being told they did I made the drive to the store to find out that they had no idea what they were talking about and in fact didn't carry said product. The second time I went to the store I had to explain to an associate what gas flex line was and how it was actually used, and I also helped a customer with amp questions on a tractor battery because the associate didn't know. The next incident occurred when my wife went on her way home to pick up a junction box and a pipe wrench "couldn't find mine". She went in close to closing "apparently annoyed the associate?!?", and not only did the associate send my wife home with an outlet box and a cover that didn't match, but a $35 dollar pipe wrench! I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. Not only is it unexcused that they are badly trained / not knowledgeable, but they are very overpriced. I can buy the same wrench for $13 at harbor freight or $24 at Lowe's. Lastly, when I went in to return the overpriced pipe wrench and the wrong electrical box I had to interrupt a conversation involving 4 employees in order to get helped. The return was painless but I did find it quite entertaining when someone I'm assuming was a manager came by to tell her workers that there were customers that needed helping. My suggestion would be turn your Ace into a place of expertise and willing associates in order to justify the monopolized location you have in our small town of Windsor. High prices are much easier to justify when the customer service matches the bill. read more

I recently bought a house and have made several trips to Ace in Windsor. They have always been very helpful and kind. They've had all the parts I need and have very reasonable prices for a small town store. I like that I can go in without much knowlege and they can help explain what I need to do (for instance, to expand my sprinkler system). I've had to return a few items when I purchased the wrong size parts and it's been a very smooth process each time. read more
