We took two screens in for rescreening. We were told it would take 3-4 weeks, which was fine. After not hearing anything, I called to check on the status of the screens. That was at four weeks. I was told, they were sorry, but they were not ready, but would be ready, soon. Two weeks later I called again and was told, they were done. Why was there no call to let me know they were done? Upon getting the screens home and ready to install, I noticed that the spline had not been replaced. They reused the old, cracked, weathered spline while charging full price for screen replacement. Not to mention, the screen material was not tight all the way around. When I called to ask why the spline wasn't replaced, Scott told me that it was their opinion that the spline could be reused. I pointed out that there were sections of the screen that had no spline. Scott passed it off as no big deal, and they were doing me a favor reusing the old dilapidated spline. We will not be using this Ace again. read more

The Berthoud Ace hardware is such a nice place to shop!! All the employees that work there make you feel so welcome when you walk in the door! They are so very friendly and knowledgeable. We were told a potting soil sale was on until the end of the month. We came in the next day to pick up the soil and were told the sale expired the day before. We asked them if they would honor the sale price since the sales associate told us wrong information. They would not give us the sale price even though it was so close to the sale expiration date. We could have come in the last day of the sale but were assured the sale would be until the end of the month. I called Ace hardware in Longmont and they made an exception and honored the sale price. In the future we will take our business to Longmont even though the Berthoud store is more convenient. read more

Today, 11/29/21-The owner, Scott, totaly ignored me as if I wasn't standing in front of him while attempting to ask him a question re porpane refill. Unbielievable that the owner of a business would totaly ignore a qustomer as if not present. My last purchase at ACE in Berthoud- Lowes-here I come. read more

Good selection but not the best of customer service. I was checking out a few minutes before closing time and they wouldn't let me fill my propane tanks. I live over 30 miles away and was told to come back tomorrow. They even locked the doors before 5 and told customers they were closed. I know it's Sunday and Mother's Day and everyone wants to get home but this was a poor choice on their part. read more

Staff is very helpful I have to say, but the store has very significant water damage to the ceiling in multiple areas. Visible mold which is surrounding several of the air vents blowing on everyone. Not safe for customers or staff. Pretty bad that a hardware store can't even maintain its own building and provide a safe and healthy environment for everyone . read more

Never have I ever been asked to join as an Ace rewards member but this location suggested it the first day. They are so helpful from paint sales to opinions on things such as gardening tools. My wife & I stop in at this Ace location nearly once a week. They have everything we need at a fairly competitive price. Some things are a bit pricey but the help & advice from the very friendly staff is worth the price difference. I was building a wood cabinet and Frank sat with me for 30 minutes explaining the things I should and shouldn't do while building this piece. You don't get this type of assistance from Lowe's! I purchased metal screen material to re-screen a patio door. During install of the screen the material fell apart. I then took the screen with original packaging back to the store within the 30 day receipt expiration. They would not refund my money (despite my having a receipt and being within the time frame), the manager was a tall man, and he stated that I did not use the spline tool, basically insinuating that I did not know what I was doing. He said he could not take the defective product back and insulted my intelligence. Since then I purchased different screen material (vinyl) and have successfully repaired said door. I since disputed the charge on my credit card of which I was denied after the merchant was contacted. The merchant stated that I needed to contact them directly if I was unhappy. I did and they declined my refund. Hello hence the complaint. Merchant also stated that there was no proof that I did contact the store for a refund. How would I possibly prove that I tried to return the merchandise? I believe the proof lies in the original complaint, the fact that I can describe the manager, their own surveillance video, and how could I begin to make up a story about the spline tool and my knowledge of re-screening "out of the air". If you check other yelp reviews you can see this manager guy has a history of declining purchase returns despite having receipts and correct return parameters. read more

Worse ACE hardware in the world. I bought a lawnmower that wouldn't start when I got it home. I took it back and the store refused to to accept it back., They kept my money and thr owner said:, We're not a repair shop." What??!!-- this is a brand new lawnmower that won't start and I can't return it? read more
