It was 1979 when The Buggles announced in a snappy little tune that "Video Killed The Radio Star"…read more It was 26 years later (Valentines Day, 2005, to be exact) when YouTube was born and gave hope to a new generation of Do-It-Yourself folks....and then eventually killed off the men and women who worked at Lowe's and Home Depot. I mean, we really stopped needing them about 10 years ago. The Circle Of Life is real. Sad, maybe - but real. Today, we visited the Loveland Lowe's to check out some new faucet options. On the way out, we stopped in the blinds section to ask a question about some Levolor blinds we bought several months ago from their store. We opted to have the blinds shipped to the house and do our own installation (thanks be to the Valentines Baby of 2005). The blinds arrived exactly on time, and they installed exactly as the instructions (and multiple videos) said they would. All good.....until we tried closing them. You see, these blinds were so tightly wound that we had to hang on them to get them to close. They opened very nicely, however, so we decided to just leave them mostly open and hope that the occasional opening and closing would cause some sort of miracle. Miracles must have been needed elsewhere, because it's nearly a year - and the blinds still take 50 lbs of down pressure and a near hernia to lower. So the visit to the blinds department today was a whim. I figured we'd at least give some feedback on the Levolor product - but our hopes weren't with us. And then along cane Roberta - a walking, talking mirage from the days when helpful folks walked the Lowes rows and told us that YouTube caused blindness. Roberta made a difference in our lives today. She listened to the issues, she got online, and she attacked the problem. She then took my name and number and offered to call me tomorrow to let me know how she worked over the Levolor people (ok, my words there) and got things straightened out. She knew the warranty terms and absolutely took accountability to find a solution. Thank you, Roberta!! And thanks to Loveland Lowe's for holding on to some of the best parts of DIY - the people who help us, and don't require a good wireless connection to access them!

I purchased the concrete Epoxy floor system from Kwal Paint in August 8, 2011. The store technician…read moregave me the two part epoxy mix with the incorrect amounts for application. The instructions where simple, mix can A with can B mix well and roll on concrete. After a week of the epoxy staying wet and not curing, I contacted Kwal Paint Store in Fort Collins, Co and they agreed to send out a specialist to sample and evaluate the problem. The Technician concluded that Kwal sent the incorrect amounts and for me mix and apply and referred me to John Snow who I presume is the manager for the north Colorado region. I contacted Mr. John Snow and he said he would take of everything except the re-application of the Epoxy this included a crew coming out and to remove the epoxy and returning the concrete to its original condition. Also he stated, the Epoxy and materials would be replace by the store which amounted to $409.59 This has been a constant battle with me having to be persistent with (Hector) the contractor who Kwal said would remove the Epoxy, for some reason it was up to me to schedule and beg for any efforts. It took 16 phone calls over a two month period to have Hector remove the top layer of Epoxy. He was then to return with a grinder to finish. He was not heard from again after his short visit only remove the epoxy partially. I have also been trying to contact the store manager of the Fort Collins Store who is Tony Snow (John Snow's brother). I have placed numerous calls into Tony, with several phone conversations ending with Tony stating that he would call me back. Not once did Tony call me back out of our numerous conversations. I was then told that the Kwal, owned its own grinder and it was in Denver. It took over three months for the grinder to be delivered to the Fort Collins store. Tony did not call with the confirmation on the delivery of the grinder, I needed to call John Snow to get confirmation that it was in Fort Collins. I then knew the only way I could get any progress on the floor was to take the task upon myself to grind the floor in the hopes that I would be able to use my garage again after 7 months of it being unusable because of Kwal. I was in route to pick up the grinder and called the store to ask if was ready for pick up and a counter salesman named John said that he did have it but needed to talk to Tony Snow who was out to lunch and he needed to confirm who it was for, I told John it was for me and I have been waiting on it for 3 months. By this time I was at the store and as I was parking. John the salesman called me back and said it was ready for pick up, as we ended the phone call I was entering the store and overheard John's very disrespectful imitation of our conversation to Tony Snow. I then heard Tony state "I should have called him" It took me 6 nights after work, 4 hours a night to grind the floor. Once complete, Loaded the grinder up with my receipt in hand I was going to the Fort Collins store to return the grinder and fulfill the promise from John Snow about replacing the material. Once again, I was told from John the salesman he needed to ask Tony Snow. I left the store very disturbed and awaited his phone call. He called back and said he had the list of what Tony Snow is willing to supply. I then returned to the store and was told that Tony was only allowing the Epoxy and flakes to be supplied which equals $136.90 out of the $409.59 total
