Wow. What a cool place. There is a huge selection from knives to napkins and utensils. The prices are a little high, but they have a great inventory and lots of cool things. Plus, there is an entire candy counter with lots of sweets and other edibles. I wish I had one of these near my home! .

    Live music for holiday shopping

The holiday season really snuck up on me this year, but I can always rely on the Cupboard for last minute gifts. With such a diverse array of kitchen gadgets, cookbooks, international treats, and local items like hot sauces and BBQ sauces, there's something for everyone. I also am enamored with their selection of specialty knives. Even shopping at The Cupboard during this busy time of year, I was met with incredibly kind and helpful customer service as always. And I was pleasantly surprised to hear live music when I walked in! A string quartet was playing music on the second floor of the store, which was a very sweet and thoughtful touch. It really helped to keep the holiday shopping stress to a minimum. My only wish is that the Cupboard didn't use plastic bags. I still love it, I'll just remember my reusable bag next time!

Wow, what a great shops in downtown/old town Fort Collins. I was blown away by all the great home goods they had-- cookie cutters, table placemats, knives, baking sheets, cooking tools, dishes, marinades, bread boxes, specialty chocolates, and so much more. I was referred to The Cupboard to get vanilla bean paste (I couldn't find it anywhere--even WF doesn't carry it). While I got the vanilla bean paste, I also ended up going home with a couple of other kitchen goodies. Prices are extremely reasonable AND the staff was SO friendly. Much recommended-- I will definitely be back.

Great selection of quality kitchen cookware, and unique foods. Hard to find foods, treats, etc. A fort Collins favorite.

The young lady who was working there offered help and I thanked her but I l really had an idea what I was looking for. After selecting a few items, I asked if they had shipping and she said they did (she mentioned she would remove the price tags and make it look nice). Both items were fragile (a small vase and a ceramic ramen bowl) and she said she would package and ship the items out as I mentioned that would be perfect as my sister's birthday was the following Tuesday (and she gave me the price of a priority large box for shipping, perfect). She asked if I would like for her to send me the tracking # after it was sent. I said once again that's great and completed my transaction after writing down my sister's name, her address, and my phone number. I was very happy with what I picked for my sister and thought I had made a great choice for her. I never heard anything Friday or Monday and decided to follow up 1st thing Tuesday morning as I imagined my sister would be getting her gifts that day or the following at the latest. I called and left a message first thing Tuesday morning but did not receive a call back after leaving a message. I called back a few hours later and got the young lady on the phone to find out she had not sent it. I told her I would have sent it myself had I known she would not be sending it that day, Friday (I made the purchase around 11 AM). She was very nonchalant about the mistake and agreed to send it out that day with little apology. My sister was out of town when her gifts arrived but she sent me a message and pictures today of the bowl broken and not wrapped how you would expect something that was ceramic with a little weight to it would be packaged. I called again and told her what happened and she said "sorry dude" let me refund you the price of the bowl. I said that would be appreciated and then mentioned I believe she should refund the shipping too since she did not send it on Friday as we agreed. She said that was not their responsibility as that was not agreed upon despite the conversation we had about it getting their on her birthday, the following Tuesday. I reminded her we did have an agreement she would get that out for the Tuesday delivery for my sister's birthday. She then flipped and said she would refund the shipping as well, after having an experience I regret now. The kicker was really how nonchalant the mistakes were treated and how I was kind of shrugged off. Lesson learned.

Just the other day I called to see if they still carried Hydromissions soap. I bought a couple of bars here once. I called to see if they did and all of the response was 'Gee, I dunno. We have soap.' by the lady that picked up the phone. Uh... your store is not that big. Don't you know what merchandise you carry? It says Hydromissions right on the package. Duh. This latest experience doesn't dissuade me not to go back to Ten Thousand Villages but I was mad that the person did not take the initiative to find out if they had the soap I wanted. No eagerness in trying to make a sale. How much does this prompt me to go find Hydromissions soap somewhere else? 'Gee, I don't know.'

I only bought a metal pot scrubber and a drink. I went to check out and the cashier asked me if I wanted to join the rewards program to get 15% off the first purchase so I said yes. He tells me to scan the QR code which doesn't work because my phone camera can be finicky with that. He then tells me to send them a text to join the rewards program which I don't know how to do because I only ever text people in my contacts. So he's then doing it for me and by now there's other people waiting because of this rewards program nonsense. When I finally get the text back from them asking me if I want their spam texts I reply no and then all of a sudden I'm no longer eligible for the 15% off.
