DO NOT SHOP HERE. We have been dealing with an exchange for a thousand dollar coffee table for 4 months and still no resolution. Main issue occured because they sold a product which wasn't properly inspected and sent a damaged good. I filed a complaint at BBB but still no response. Shame on this location. What a waste of a name and I will never shop at Pottery Barn again thanks to this incompetent location and a sales person. read more

Don't bother with PB Design Services. They are either incompetent, racist or both. I relocated to the area and was starting over in 2 bedroom condo - with no furniture and love PB design. I asked for a consultation in order to acquire new curtains, rugs, dining table, living room set and guest bedroom set/decor, gallery wall. It took weeks to get an appointment with Tamara. She came, provided input on where to put the furniture, took copious notes, we went over fabric samples for curtains and rugs. She said she'd get back to me in 2 weeks. I've called her cell, texted her directly and contacted the store about a dozen times on the phone and via email. She's never returned a single call or provided any samples/product. I ended up buying everything at West Elm/Pier1 because I didn't want to give them my business. read more

Worst customer service, ever. I've been in the store a dozen times and have never even had a sales associate say hi. Although yesterday I did get nice customer service when I approached an associate. So 2 stars. read more

I went to the Tysons Pottery Barn today to return a couple of carpet samples and experienced such terrible customer service that I was compelled to write my first Yelp review ever: after standing behind someone on line for 5 minutes, the salesperson totally ignored me and asked another behind me if he needed anything. When I mentioned to her that I was waiting in line, she told me that she actually had another customer (despite the fact that she asked a different person if they needed help), proceeded to leave the register station, and told me that I should go to the front of the store. After going to the front of the store to another register, I was met with more rudeness. I saw 3 people behind the register, and when I asked if someone could help me with a return, the sales person actually said "No!" And then pointed to another salesperson who was making her way to the station. The fact that I had 2 very rude interactions within 5 minutes is really unbelievable. I'm going to go to Crate and Barrel instead for my furniture purchases - much better customer service. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I ordered some furniture and they kept pushing out the delivery date. Then, the items went on sale and they wouldn't do a price adjustment. All other furniture stores - Arhaus, Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrel - offer a price adjustment if they change the price after you order and before it is delivered. I have been waiting 2 months for my order and now they say it will be another two months and the item just went on sale. I could save $500 with the current pricing, but they will not honor it. STAY AWAY FROM POTTERY BARN. No wonder people are asking if they are still in business. read more

I consider myself an avid pottery barn shopper. However, due to the extremely hot temperature at the Tyson's store, I am resorting to online shopping. read more

They got rid of the angry grouch employees and the new ones are much better especially Taylor!

Ordered a bedroom set from this store on 17 Sep. It arrived when they said it would on 4 Oct. (This is far better than the 4-6 weeks other furniture stores take to deliver.) Our saleswoman, Vicki, was very nice and helpful, but I was only able to find her after being ignored by a few other salespeople. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because, as others have mentioned here, some of the staff think they're too cool to help you. (Vicki was not one of them. She was great!) Very happy with bedroom set, and if I return, I'll look for Vicki. read more

At this location in Tyson's corner mall they had kids, and teen Pottery. No more pottery Barn Teen and if you try to return something purchased at PB Teen. You have to wait a week for them to mail you the refund. Never again. read more

BEWARE ORDERING ANYTHING FROM POTTERY BARN THAT SAYS "IN STOCK AND READY TO DELIVER." I ordered two 9x12 area rugs on Sept 7, 2020 (took samples home from Pottery Barn and designed room around this) that the salesperson assured me that they were "in stock and ready to deliver." It is now the end of November and I have not received these and neither contacting the store or calling Pottery Barn has done any good. Now they insist the rugs are lost and they don't know have any idea where they are (and I even had a delivery time they scheduled with me for at least one of these yesterday.) I don't know what products they really have or don't have but I feel there is no assurance you will get your order based on my experience. Also, customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. No training, No follow up, excruciating wait times and they seem to not be able to know where their merchandise is. (The communication with shipping company Fidelitone is stellar in comparison, however.) read more

I bought a Manhatten Leather Sofa a few years a go. About one year later the mechanism in the recliner broke. Pottery Barn is absolutely not interested in helping me get it fixed.I have been trying for almost two years to get help. I am not expecting to get the part or labor for free, I JUST WANT THE PART. I have called Pottery Barn and the Manufacturer of the chair and my request for help falls on deaf ears. This is not a cheap chair,it is just under 2000.00 and it looks brand new. Help,YELP! The worst customer service since the end of segregation! My budget was generous. My patience for bs was meager. I would have made someone's day if they had only said,"Hello". Oh, the lost commission! read more

I went to the Pottery Barn at the Tyson's Corner location yesterday ready to make some purchases for my dining room. Apparently I did not fit the mold of what a Pottery Barn customer should look like because the sales associate totally ignored me and my husband. I noticed that she was very friendly to all the other customers, but completely disregarded us every time she passed by right in front of us. We walked out after approximately 30 minutes of being ignored. I will NEVER go back to the Tyson's location and hope that the Reston location has better customer service. We'll see... read more

Is it possible to give them zero stars? My boyfriend and I scheduled an in-home consultation as we just purchased a home and need a ton of furniture. We never received a follow-up call so he went in the store and walked around for about 20 minutes with out any type of acknowledgement from an employee. Finally someone begrudgingly ask if he needs help. He lets her know he was there to follow up about an in-home consultation and she acted like she had a million better things to do then provide any type of customer service/assistance. He proceeds to deal with her bad attitude and suggest he pull up the floor plans to our new home on the computer. He brings up the 3D floor plans to OUR home and she states "I don't know if your aware but these are pictures of a model home. Can you bring up the actual floor plans of YOUR house?" Obviously he was taken a back but proceeds to tell her this is OUR home and then leaves. We need to furnish our entire home and will NOT buy one thing from POTTERY BARN. We personally will never step foot in this store again and will take our money else where. As a young African American couple we expect to be treated with the same respect and courtesy as anyone else. It's just a shame because we don't have a set budget for our furniture and are in a strong financial situation so it's their loss. read more

I'm giving the staff 2 stars! All these years shopping here and I've never had good customer service experience. I'm not sure if the store is understaffed or the reps are just unhappy to be working here but I'm tired of unpleasant sales people when you do find one. Memo to the staff, by ringing me out, you're not doing me any favors. It's actually the opposite, I'm supporting the business that employs you!! Im not happy today and not due to a certain incident, rather tired of being treated like an unwelcome interruption to the staffs' day. Sorry I bothered you with my purchase. Don't worry, I'll be sure to go online next time where my computer screen always smiles back! read more

There is nothing more annoying than a store that regards themselves so highly that they don't give younger customers the light of day. They made me feel as though I was going to steal from them (mind you, I wore my clothes straight from my corporate job!). Then when I went to ring up my purchase they took other customers ahead of me and even interrupted our transaction to help ring up another customers order. So rude! We ended up buying quite a bit too. read more

I have never been to such a horribly run Pottery Barn - the people who work in this store are rude and conceited and no one knows what they're talking about. My first experience: I called a couple weeks ago for an item they said claimed they had in stock and as such drove over only for a different person to tell me they hadn't had that item in weeks and told me I was mistaken regarding my earlier conversation; they treated me like I was a fool. The second time I went in with a friend and no one could be bothered to talk with us. The third time I went in to look for another item on their website, only for a stuck-up Italian woman to sneer and laugh at me when I asked about the item - as if I was silly enough to ask for such an item! As I walked out the store, finally having enough of the place, a second woman asked if I was finding everything okay, and when I asked her as well, she shook her head and told me they don't carry items "like that" (whatever that is supposed to mean). If I could give this place a 0/5 I would. Do yourself a favor, drive the little extra distance and go to the Bethesda store where you will be treated by kind, down-to-earth people who actually want to help you build the home of your dreams. read more

Carlos the manager was completely unprofessional in seeing our order through. There were multiple personal errors in the order process for a chair for my pregnant wife and Muriel outright lies to get the sale. Hours of calls to a dozen representatives, each more unprofessional and incompetent than the last, finally resulted in our product arriving multiple months late from what was agreed. A refund for several hundred dollars was promised for the extensive and unfair delivery fees. These promises were also lies. What a horrible experience with unprofessional and incompetent retail salespeople. Carlos needs to find another profession he is better suited for. Customer service and dealing with money is outside his capabilities as a human being. We won't be shopping at pottery barn again. The same type items are available on wayfair if you look carefully. Pottery barn isn't what is used to be....big corporation garbage products and even worse service. Two thumbs down and buyer beware. read more

No customer service. I went into the store at 10 today t o make a return. It took them 25 minutes to do the return due to computer issues. Okay; we have all had computer issues and they stink so I understood that was out of their control. The real problem is that there were two possible three managers that when asked about the problem stayed a moment to help the sales associate and then walked away problem unsolved. One had a name badge on "Jason GM" the other one or two had no name tags. Guys, put yourself in the customers position. What would you be thinking of the store and service. I will definitely remember today when I think of Pottery Barn and I will sure tell a lot of people about this bad experience. Each of those managers had an opportunity to make a bad situation better but didn't act in Pottery Barns best interest. read more

I worked with the most wonderful lady named Allison in pottery barn teen, she helped me all over the store and let me run around like a crazy person matching things. I was highly surprised to see the negative reviews on here. My wife and I have done A LOT of business with this Pottery Barn location and we've had very positive experiences. I always make a point of asking for Shonda because I have worked with her in the past and she's great. Very knowledgeable and a great sense of humor. Nothing against the other salespeople; I've had such good experiences with her that I always ask for her. Highly recommend this Pottery Barn. read more

Upon entering no one greeted my boyfriend and I. Nor did they approached us to see if we needed assistance. I had to go to the register and ask for some help in finding a comforter that I fell in love with on the online store. I would've ordered it online, but it said it wouldn't ship until May of 2016. I honestly don't think we were payed much attention because they probably assumed we weren't going to purchase anything. Once I asked for the comforter she then began to be a little more attentive. I asked her questions about customizing a upholstered platform bed and what fabric would be best for it. She pointed to the sample books and said "everything's there". I didn't ask where the books were, I asked expecting some insight on fabrics. Slightly annoyed, I just told myself to forget it. I payed for my comforter and was on my way. read more

I just bought a pottery barn comfort sectional from this location. Had the most wonderful experience! Issac helped me through the whole process and made me feel like a princess. I kept going back and forth with my decision for what fabric to use, and exactly what type of couch to get and he never lost patience with me. He was SO patient and helpful and has a wonderful spirit. This has been a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to get my new sofa :) Thank you Issac!!! read more

One of the worst experiences at Pottery Barn ever. I I had bought a shower curtain and went to return it on October 29. I stood at the counter while three people behind the counter talked amongst themselves. Finally I asked if one of them would be able to help me. One of the other sales women said well they can if they're not helping a customer. Well, they are talking amongst themselves so doesn't look like they are helping another customer. I go over to one of the chatting sales people and she starts processing my return. Starts, but doesn't get that far, because she decides to answer the telephone that is ringing and deal with the issue of the person on the phone. Finally, she is done with the return and says I will be getting a refund on my credit card. Flash forward about a week -- I receive in the mail a merchandise credit. I did not want a merchandise credit -- I return the item within 30 days of receiving it with the receipt. No mention that I was getting a merchandise credit was told to me. So I call customer care and am now holding on their phone for over 15 minutes. No one has answered and can't hold any longer. What is going on with their service? read more

Poorly run store. I waited 30 minutes to make a simple return with a receipt. They need a customer service desk to help people who are looking for items - not those at the cash registers. Delays are terrible. read more

I am so annoyed at Pottery Barn, it's not even funny. Every time I go into one of their locations, they have this flatware available on display, and on sale in the flatware section. If you bring it to a sales associate, they say they will go get it for you, then say that don't have it and cannot order it. They look it up and tell you that other stores have it. The you call the other stores and they have the flatware, but they are not seling it, only using it as display. Why then, do you have it in your flatware selection to be sold??!? I have called the company in multiple states, and nobody can give me a straight answer. I would not care so much, but I happen to love this set, called Antique Silver Sentiment, and each time I go into another location, I see them on sale and get a glimmer of hope, "maybe this one does have them for sale" but to no avail. Get it together Pottery Barn, your sales people ahve no idea what's up with your merchandise either. what gives? read more

Like the other experiences described on this site, I found the PB staff at Tysons Corner to be rude and unhelpful. I wanted to purchase one item - there are a total of three different register areas in the store and only one of them was staffed. I waited several minutes to pay for one item behind some guy that wanted to find out if an item was at another store. The clerk finally acknowledges me and said in a high pitched voice "I'll get to you as soon as I can. There are two other registers you can go to!" (which were unstaffed as I previously mentioned. His histrionics were completely inappropriate. I wanted to take my item and throw it at him. I will never go in this shitty, overpriced store again. read more

Horrible customer service. I entered the store to purchase a duvet comforter insert and waited 30 minutes for a 2 minute purchase. Ridiculous. I am really surprised to see the comments! I have shopped at this location for the last 3 years and love how large the store is. They have more than the typical assortment and display it well. The staff has always given me the attention deserved and always gone above and beyond. I had an issue with a coffee table a while back and one of the store managers approved having it picked up from my house and another one brought with a delivery service. Which was great because it was tough enough to get the first time. They didn't charge me a penny! I have recommended this store to a ton of friends and they all agree on the service level. I definitely recommend this location. Thanks! read more

Where do I begin....this store has no idea what customer service is. I encourage you to shop elsewhere. Save yourself the headache. Untrustworthy to the core! I ordered pendants in 2 sizes uncertain as to which would look best. I returned one set and kept the other within 2 days. They tried to back me into a store credit instead of a credit back to my account. They told me the credit to my account would be issued and I would receive it within 10 days. After 10 days passed, I received a store credit in the form of a gift card which was not acceptable. I called and the store employee and manager who were both rude, were no help at all. I called customer service and they shared that this time they issued a credit back to my account and I will receive it in 10-15 days. We'll see! Save yourself the trouble, go to Restoration Hardware!! read more

I ordered on-line, and since then I have received emails EVERY day from Pottery Barn. I went on-line 5 days ago and requested to be taken off the list. What happened, more emails. Today I called, after 10 minutes on-line a young lady said I have been removed. we'll see what happens. I recommend using a BS email address when dealing w/ this company. Very un-happy customer. I have been to this location several times and no one ever greets me or even looks at me when I walk in. Today, I was on a mission to finish the design on my nursery and walked in to asked if they sold paint. I was quickly told "No" and the clerk went back to looking down and ignoring me. I then inquired how do they have a design center but do not offer paint - to which she explained they had swatches of Sherman Williams paint... Well ok, that is what I was looking for. I am 9 months pregnant and may has asked about them selling paint but the clerk could have easily explained they had swatches. She handed me the swatches and went back to ignoring me. I felt like she put more effort into ignoring me than helping me and this has been my experience EVERY time I have walked into this store. Today - just took the cake. Its ok, I walked upstairs to Restoration Hardware where I was greeted warmly. read more
