Potsticker is a hidden gem I've been passing almost every day without recognizing it! After an extraordinary experience at a dumpling restaurant out of state, I was on a mission to find something similar in MN. After browsing Yelp, I settled on taking my boyfriend to Potsticker for his birthday. We arrived and were seated inside immediately. The place is small, and I would describe it as intimate or cozy. We ordered drinks to start, and our server came over to explain the ordering process for the Potstickers. Ultimately, we ended up ordering Cilantro Pork, Shrimp/Beef/Chives, and the Curry Chicken Potstickers. We also ordered the Surf and Turf Fried Rice and some Korean Wings to accompany our main dishes. The tastes associated with the Potstickers are subjective (we both loved them), but the quality is objectively great. The wings were a bit sweet to me which isn't my personal preference, but I'd still recommend them as I believe they were well prepared. I could eat fried rice 24/7 so I might be biased, but it was great, and I'd love to try the pork belly option. Potsticker nailed everything from ambiance, to service, to food. POTSTICKERS ARE AN ENTREE. This is true in my household and I'm so glad I found a high quality restaurant that agrees, and that represents this tenet so well. This is a really cute bistro with really friendly service, and truly fine potstickers. They have at least six unique varieties, and at least as many dipping sauces. All pan-fried, I think. Significant differences between all of those choices. They aren't messing around with this concept, but if you like steamed offerings, like maybe soup dumplings, that's not what they're about. One time my entree came with a side of fried rice, but another time I didn't, and I found the menu to be missing a bit of information (there's a reference to a half-order, but what is a full order). And I think a side of fried rice is appropriate and should come with a standard entree considering the price. But the price is still pretty fair considering how good the potstickers are. They have some other entree options as well, but that would mean not having a big plate of their awesome potstickers so I might not get around to trying those. I mean that as high praise! read more

I thought I had written a review for this place already, oops, my bad. I love, love, love this place! Came here on a weeknight and it was packed. I did not make reservation but we got lucky by snatching two chairs at the bar. It is small inside but worth the wait. The staff was super efficient and friendly, there were two girls and one guy. The guy helped us with drinks and ordering our food. I am so sorry I forgot his name, but you could tell how hardworking they all were. We both ordered Potsticker Duet (highly recommend): *shrimp, Angus beef, chives *tofu mushroom kale *dill pork *kimchi pork My favorite was dill pork, it goes well with old godmother hot sauce. Honestly all the potstickers were amazing and their list of dipping sauce was great too. A female chef (we think she is the owner) came out of the kitchen and asked us how we are doing, and she gave us some kimchi she made the same day for samplings. I REALLY wanted to love this place. My son and I ate here. We were the only diners in the dining room and all the tables were still dirty from the dinner rush. There was only one person working which I totally get an hour before closing but I had to ask if we could order after sitting and waiting for a while. It wasn't entirely her fault. There were 3 men at the bar telling stories and keeping our waitress occupied. We ordered Korean Wings and each had a Potsticker sampler. Potstickers were good but although it came with a side of your choice of sauce, we both ordered classic sauce and there was about a tablespoon of sauce (if that for 8 Potstickers. Tried this restaurant on a whim given its rave reviews. We were the only patrons in en dining room given it was Christmas Eve, but the server shared that usually it's a reservation only experience. We ordered the scallion pancakes, jasmine tea, rib eye with noodles and the pot sticker duet for two. The latter featured two of each of their 7 potsticker options. As we don't eat pork, they kindly allowed us to sub two of the choices for double of another potsticker choice. The server was very attentive and considerate and while they did forget my tea order in a completely empty restaurant, they were very accommodating of our family's requests. The potstickers were perfectly cooked, and when you bit into them, they were filled with a saver V juice of each of the selections. I highly recommend the old grandmother sauce, and while they warn you spicy, it really is not much more than a mild kick. For hot sauce lovers, you may need to ask them to up the flavors a bit. All in all this is a restaurant well worth visiting and returning to. read more

It's a nice spot and I appreciate the flavors in each of the dumplings. While the flavors are great, the reason for the 3/5 rating comes down to a few things. Cleanliness: The first booth we went to was a bit dirty with small food particles. This wouldn't be a terrible thing but it was during the opening of the store. This wouldn't be hard to improve. Food: While the flavors were nice. There was a lot of excess oil. The sear on the dumplings was a great way to prepare the food. Cost: We did the dumpling tour for two. This includes two dumplings of each type and an entree dish (we chose the chicken and shrimp fried rice) for over $52. The quantity didn't seam to justify the price point. We have eaten there a couple times but this last time got the house cucumbers (had no right being that good), potsticker tour (yum, I love the simple ones like pork/cilantro and beef/chive/shrimp /and the dipping sauces are great), sweet and sour chicken (delicious, not overly sweet like usual), and sirloin noodles (delicious marinated beef over tasty noodles with tons of fresh well-cooked veg). Did the potstickers duet with cilantro pork and beef, shrimp and chives. Sauces tried were teriyaki, classic and Sesame Street. Also had the pork belly fried rice. Every bite was relished! Plenty of food for 2. Too full for dessert. Chose water only. So much flavor packed into their food. I have no reason to return to this state but this restaurant is one of them. Fabulous little spot on Randolph Avenue, they hung up some freezer door strips in the winter to try to keep some of the cold out. We tried the potsticker sampler, and our favorite was the cilantro pork, but they were also great! the place is pretty small, but still quite comfortable. we ordered a couple beers while looking over the menu. after perusing a bit, we ordered the 2 of every potsticker and the fried rice with pork belly. however, our beers hadn't come yet. we had to ask for them again before they came. I got the Korean lager and wife got the Chinese lager. definitely go with the latter. the potstickers were overall pretty good. neither of us was a fan of the chicken curry one, but we both enjoyed the kimchi pork and cilantro pork ones. if say my favorite sauce was the gochujong, followed by the classic sauce. the ginger one didn't seem gingery enough, and I felt like the old godmother wasn't all that flavorful. the fried rice, unfortunately, wasn't that great. we both felt like it could use more seasoning and just tasted kind of blah. overall, I'd give 3.5 stars. Ate here for New Year's Eve dinner. We were a party of four, and had made a reservation. The space is small, and they were not super on top of welcoming folks when they arrived, so we milled around at the front, hovering over people eating - not the best feeling for us or them.
