Requested a garage floor Polyaspartic floor covering and some overhead storage. The salesman came by, gave us a decent estimate, but wasn't the greatest communicator. Fortunately, in stepped the office person, Michele, who was a godsend on easing my apprehensions. She also was patient with our waivering on the floor choice. We got "domino" and a white 4 by 8 foot overhead storage area. The crew was great, but they did leave a few drill holes (looking for a stud/beam, I assume). I called Michele and the crew came back the next day to fix. Very happy with the work and they were recommended by someone else on our block who was also happy with the work. My rating is purely on the lack professionalism and poor management as we were lucky enough to our dealings with PGS before they began. Simple request: can I get an estimate to modify a double garage door set up to a single large garage door. 10/28/24 : called and made an appointment for 11/1 at 9:30 AM. 10/31/24, 4:20 PM: Got a reminder text from PGS requesting confirmation of appointment. I immediately confirmed and got a thank you text. 10/31/24, 4:44 PM: Got a reminder text about my appointment. 10/31/24, 8:29 PM: Got a text requesting that we move the 10/31/24 appointment back to 3:00 because estimator had an emergency doctor's appointment. I replied that I couldn't move it later but suggested we plan for the following week. Estimator replied "Ok. Let me know anytime. I will make it work." 11/1/24: I suggested either Monday or Wednesday. Estimator offered Wednesday, 11/6/24 at 3:00 PM, and I confirmed. 11/5/24, 4:44 PM: Got a reminder text from PGS requesting confirmation of appointment. I immediately confirmed. 11/6/24, 2:19 PM: Michelle at PGS left a voicemail telling me that their designer was running 1/2 hour late and would be at my house around 4:00 PM. 11/6/24, 2:58 PM: Sam at PGS left a voicemail telling me that they had a designer heading to my house, but since they had not been able to contact their architect they would have to cancel my appointment. So, we didn't know we needed an architect until the day of an appointment that was made on a date and at a time that they suggested?!? Or is it just okay for a contractor to cancel with little or no notice?!? I understand the emergency doctor's appointment, but what happened to "anytime. I will make it work."?!? If they treat folks like this prior to having them on contract, I can only imagine how badly they treat they once they're on the hook. read more

I had Potomac Garage Solutions install the PGS floor system to my garage floor late 2017. 7 years ago. When i called about them coming out to look at restoring a portion of the floor, they told me they had to put me on the back burner!!! to busy to even come out and take a look!!! Friendly advise, (one star is even one too many!) Do not waste your time and money with this company, their prices are premium, But their service, communication and delivery is well below garbage!!! Don't fall into whatever the sales person tells you during their initial visit; everything they tell you at beginning is nice and upscale and actual s#!t show will start once you signed and subm your payment! They came and and installed a messed up epoxy system and damaged our freshly painted walls, drilled and screwed garage door exterior to install their tarp with no permission or consent and installed their horrible system under a severe rain first time! outcome final product was so horrible that I finally managed to raise my concern after many many calls, emails and text messages, finally the same sales person named "Zev" and their field manager named "Jose" deci to finally pay a visit and review their whats called final product !!! Upon their arrival both Zev, Jose and one of their installers "Israel" stayed quiet and agreed they messed up!! Three weeks later they promised to come back and remove their mess and re do the work! Surly enough they showed up and grinded their mess and applied primer, and they promised to come back the day after to install the material; waited few hours and no one showed up nor contacted me to provide any updated. Again I contacted Zev and Jose via phone call and text; no respo received then contacted their office at MD and talked with office personnel named Michele; she said she is going to contact their team and promised to provide and update; hour later Zev called and said they can't come back to complete the job today due to possible rain (remember rain forcasted 19:00-20:00 and they did their first install under sever rain!!!) and very rudely basically said pull me out of this and I'm done dealing with you and hung up!!! They I managed to talk to their office manager named. "Connie" and she basically repeated herself and said this is what it is!!!!! in conclusion; read other reviews and use your judgement and don't be fooled to trust them at all!!! Its a rabbit hole situation and you will be wasting your money, time and comfort. With this kind of money you are planning to spend with them, you can most certainly find a legit company to complete your task with no headache, dram or unnecessary stress. Premium pricing to say the least. Double the cost of the exact same you could buy elsewhere. Like me, if you think it is worth it to be pay more for a local, knowledgeable, detail orientated, trustworthy, professional, and communicative business, think again. Do plenty of research and strongly consider hiring someone else. A reluctant "salesperson", let's call him "Joe", who I have never even met, called in response to my inquiry through their website. "Joe" apparently didn't have much time. Nor does he answer his phone. Though he did make an initial call to me, when I was awaiting the in person visit that was scheduled by the administrative staff (another sub-chapter of this embarrassing "company's" tale.) During this call, he asked for as many dimensions and photos as I could provide, considerable information as to what cars I was going to be using with the lift, etc. All seemed well. An "designer," armed with a tape measure, did arrive in lieu of "Joe." Shortly thereafter, "Joe" called again to "quote" an estimate that was of course supposed to sound like an enormous deal! See above as to why I agreed to accept and get started. Trying to keep this short. After several days, the bulk of the work was done. No one was ever around to witness/assist in the actual USE of the lift. You know....... actually driving cars onto the lift and making it go up and down! I and my wife had to witness the considerable damage caused to BOTH of my cars when driven onto the lift. The next day, the "crew' returned and took many photographs, uttered many oohs and ahhhhs, more Spanish than I am capable of understanding, took many photographs, and then.......... the magical TAPE MEASURE appeared to try to determine what was actually needed in terms of approach ramps that were obviously inappropriate for my lift/cars. This was at least 2 weeks ago. I have sat politely, through days of gloriously warm convertible weather, unable to drive my cars off this wildly over priced lift, installation, and WOEFUL "customer service", awaiting word as to the arrival of or even knowledge of the solution. I called today to be informed that the office staff, at least, had NO idea that there even was a problem. Then continued to quote that per my "estimate," the lift was installed and is working........ As the saying goes....... I couldn't make this up. There is MUCH that I am omitting, like being made to feel like a deadbeat, being harangued repeatedly for payment in full while work was still in progress, and being put off because I wasn't happy about paying a 3% fee to use a card, etc. In fact, even the office person who first responded to my online inquiry was inquisitive as to whether I could actually pay for this or not........ if a business sounds, looks, smells and feels like a scam........ is it? Follow up: if what you are looking for is some sort of mechanical "art installation," then you have found the right people. If you are actually looking for a solution to a parking/garage situation that you can actually use without incurring damage to 1 (or in my case, 2) of your cars, you are DEFINITELY not speaking with the right people. Actually being able to safely use their product for its intended purpose and it serve as the solution to your problem is NOT of interest to this "company." After YOU absorb the cost of replacement parts and repair, YOU still will have nothing other than an art installation. And they simply do not care. I reached out to Potomac Garage to seek a quote to get my large 1-car garage floor done with metallic epoxy. They showed up, provided a quote and promised to provide a similar result on their phone during the visit. A few days later they showed up, moved all my stuff in the garage into a trailer which was parked out front (a few items took significant damage and scratching while being moved and stored). Of course they hit me with the bait and switch, a group of non-English speaking workers showed up and put down epoxy flooring I did not ask for. About 3-4 days later the epoxy was still wet. After calling and trying to get someone out to look they showed up about a week later to say it was done incorrectly and would need to removed, and add a new floor. New floor looked significantly better, however, you could tell it was their 1st or 2nd time doing it, inconsistencies everywhere. They finally came out to do the top coat which was done incorrectly, it shouldn't chip if you drop a socket, it should withstand a lot of abuse. I've also have 3-4 large pieces come up from my cars tires, exactly why you get epoxy flooring so that doesn't happen. Stay away, might be good at cabinets and shelving but absolutely horrid experience getting the floor done. Use a company that specializes in flooring, now I have to get someone reputable to come out and un-F what they did to my garage. read more

Sales experience and installation were great. About a month after completion of my garage reseal, I noticed that my tires were catching on the lip of the garage entrance. I called my sales contact and he said that he'd pass it along to the office, but that I would probably have to follow up with them. After two weeks of no response, I did - they claimed to have not heard about the issue from the sales rep. I was asked to send in photos of the damage. Shortly after, they called back and said they would come do the repair when they had another service in my area, but none were scheduled in the coming two weeks. It seems ridiculous that I should have to wait, but I said it was fine. Of course more than a month went by and I heard nothing. When I called again, it was as if I was starting from scratch. I was asked to send pictures again. I did. Weeks have gone by again and still no response. Horrible customer service and no responsibility for fixing issues. read more

When I originally hired them to install my lift I asked if I needed a separate power outlet so I don't have my breaker tripping due to the overload and I was told I don't need it by the salesman. He was trying to get me to sign so he could sell and didn't care what happens afterwards. I believed what he said and now my breaker trips most times I use the lift! I called and asked about it and was told it'll cost me $3,450 to run a separate power source. These guys are rip-off artists and don't care about the customer!!! They didn't even offer to split the cost or provide a discount since I had asked about it before I signed the contract and was told I didn't need it... the salesman is rude and only cares about selling and after the sale they're done! You got lucky today because we do 40 garages a month." I wanted it done asap, so I went with it. I signed a quote WITH TAX, NOT tax not included and dollar amount for the tax. Fixed price quote. After the install was complete, Jeff says my balance is hundreds of dollars more. He says tax wasn't included. I tell him to go look at the quote. Zev, and his crew were the absolute BEST company to do business with. I know because I have owned and operated my business for 40 years! They installed 2-4 post car lifts in my 2 car garage. Also, they had to cot the ceiling out to accommodate the roofs of the top cars. They removed the existing trusses and literally rebuilt them, reinstalled new drywall, repainted the entire ceiling and walls back to my custom colors. They installed my custom design LED lights on the walls and ceiling, added 8 new receptacles to the bottom of both side walls to accommodate my trickle chargers for the cars and Harley. They lifted my garage door to the ceiling and installed a new quieter motor to the side wall corner, relocated 2 of my wall cabinets and custom wall hung corn hole boards AMG and Harley Davidson. The project took 8 full days. They stayed late to make sure that I was confident in operating the lifts. With a project of this magnitude there was a couple minor issues. I telephoned Zev Pomerance the owner, he listened intently to my concerns. He immediately assured me that the cost to cover the minor issues he would reimburse me. He has followed up with me by texts and emails. The credit was processed immediately and I have received a credit to the penny that I shared with him! As I said prior I have owned my business for 40 years, and customer service is a tremendous part of continuous business. I have already showed off my finished garage to some of my car enthusiasts neighbors. I told them deal with absolutely positively no other company but Potomac Garage Solutions! They are the BEST!!! The technician was initially very attentive and did sell the job very well. However the result was short of what was sold. It was also done quickly than sold and probably it affected the result. After the initial payment no one from the crew discussed any other detail about the job with my family. They left the house and I was not even sure that the job was finished. I was under the impression that the job was not completely done and they will come back to improve the finish since they told that it was a two day job but just they worked for one day only. I called the company and requested a visit of the technician to discuss the job done. At the day of the appointment the technician Pomerance (the one who closed the job) called and rescheduled the appointment. My experience with the sales and installation of my three car garage went smoothly. Jeff noticed that the epoxy sealant was not right and on his own had his team back the next day to put a whole new coat on the entire floor. They also put up hanging brackets and now not tripping over all the tools on the floor. Looks fantastic. I had someone else do my garage floors prior and it was a disaster. This is a 2 for 1 review. I don't normally write reviews unless the experience is exceptionally good or horribly bad. I apologize for such a lengthy review but it is imperative that you have ALL the information before doing business with Potomac Garage Solutions. Potomac Garage Solutions (PGS) installed four Onrax motorized shelf units in January 2013. I received a very good price because of the quantity I ordered and the installers were helpful moving stuff out of my garage and loading up the racks after installation. They even made several extension cords in order to reach the outlets. There WAS one problem with one of the winches (it was missing a bracket) so someone from PGS drove the part out to my house while the other three units were being installed. Overall installation took about 4 or 5 hours (not sure the exact time) but they were efficient. Jump forward to February 2014 when I ordered one additional Onrax unit for my garage. I called PGS, spoke to Jeff, told him I wanted one Onrax Ascension unit to go with the other four that were already installed. To make a three-month story short, PGS was going to sell me a DIFFERENT motorized shelf unit (one that wouldn't even fit in the space where it was to be installed) because they didn't think Onrax was in business anymore. Once I informed PGS that Onrax was, in fact, still in business, they ordered two units from Onrax. There were delays on both Onrax's and PGS's side of the fence, but the one difference is that PGS was NOT up front and truthful about the situation. I was in contact with the owner of Onrax as well as PGS and PGS was telling each of us adifferent story. The only excuse PGS didn't use was that their dog ate the order paperwork. When the two Onrax units arrived at PGS, I "believe" PGS installed them at someone else's house even though one of the two "belonged" to me. I was told by PGS that they "tested" the units before they were going to install them (which is a bunch of hogwash based on what I learned from the installers). I received a call from PGS at 7:05 AM on 5/14/14 telling me that the replacement Onrax unit had come in and that they wanted to come out TODAY (5/14) to install it. Of course, a one or two day advance notice would have been nice and since I was not able to accommodate them, I scheduled installation for 5/19/14. I was told the installers would arrive at 9:00 AM. At 10:00 AM I called PGS to find out where they were. Jeff called back a few minutes later to say their truck had broken down and a replacement truck was going out to get them and that they should arrive in about an hour. At 12:00 PM, they had not arrived and I had not received a call so I ran some errands. I returned at 1:10 PM to a PGS truck in my driveway. I asked why nobody bothered to call with updates about their arrival time. It's as though I was just supposed to spend my entire day at home for a one-hour installation. During the installation, they were cutting some metal pieces to length using a wood cutting bit on a jigsaw because the one metal cutting blade broke. When one of the guys was about to install the shelf bracket with the motor on it, he realized they did not have the drive shaft for the unit. It's now about 2:00 PM or so and they wanted to drive an hour back to the shop to get the part, then another hour back to my house and then spend another 45 minutes to an hour installing the rack. I told them to pack it up and go back to the shop...I'll let them know when they can come back to install. I called Jeff who wasn't the least bit interested in what I had to say and just said he'd have Zev call me. Zev called me the next day (5/20) and asked what I wanted. I asked for a discount because of the complete inconvenience I had been put through over the last three months but he offered only two options...have them come back to install the unit or give me a refund. I asked for the refund. I am now ordering an Onrax unit through Tailored Living of Northern Virginia (TLNV) who I had contacted to inquire about an Onrax unit while I was enduring this horrendous process with PGS. Susan at TLNV couldn't have been more accommodating and even put me in touch with their operations manager to answer more of my questions. The bottom line is that PGS is NOT concerned about customer satisfaction if something goes sideways...nor are they respectful of your time when it comes to being on time (or keeping you informed if they're going to be late). They just expect you to allot an entire day for a one-hour installation. read more

First, my experience which was good and bad is not unique. If you read the other reviews here, many have similar experiences. I consider myself a reasonable person and I admit I did not protect myself by getting a written estimate. I've got two 4x8 overhead storage installed in my garage. The Good The crew that came out was wonderful. They were on time, professional and friendly. They were more than willing to provide their opinion as I had no clue what would be the best option. I'm very happy with the job they did. The Bad When considering an overhead storage, I called Safe Racks first. They are a nationally advertised company. They had their two 4x8 overhead storage with installation for about 650 dollars. With this in mind, I wanted to see if there were other local options. I found out that Potomac Garage Solutions provided similar product and installation. When I called, the man on the phone (Jeff) answered and quoted me 600 dollars for the job. So, I went ahead and booked an appointment because when compared to Safe Racks, it was almost 50 dollars cheaper. After the phone call, my credit card was immediately charged for 300 dollars. I didn't really see an issue with that, normal protocol. After the job was completed, my credit card was charged for additional 730 dollars to my shock. Total of 1030 dollars, that is almost 66% increase from my original estimate. I called the company for clarification and since I did not get a written estimate (my fault), it was a he said and she said situation. I told Jeff that I'm happy with the installed product but was disappointed at their business practices. This was an expensive lessons learned for me. Always get a written estimate with itemized material and work - no matter how simple the work is. If Jeff or anyone from Potomac Garage Solutions reads this review, please see my experience is not a unique one as others have expressed similar issues (bad business practices). The company president, Zev Pomerance, never informed my husband that the intensity of the toxic fumes would be unbearable for our family to occupy the house while paint is applied to the garage floor. We have young children and a dog, all of whom he met when he came to our home. We were exposed to dangerous toxic fumes that caused burning in our chests and difficulty breathing. When we reported our issues to him, he said the paint used was a low VOC of 200. FYI for those of you who don't know, VOCs are not what you want in your home! They can cause serious health issues. Not long ago I used Potomac Garage Solutions to install a car lift in my garage. While the initial install went as planned the follow up service has been catastrophic. Most recently i paid to have the annual service performed and was forced to pay the entire amount up front for some reason. Now I know why. That was almost 8 weeks ago and during the inspection it was determined that several issues had to be addressed. The service tech wasn't prepared to address any of these issues, including the addition of oil to the systems mainline. Since their tech came at 9am i decided to stay home and review my concerns. When i was told the tech would have to go to the store to get oil i clearly made it known i wouldn't be able to stay but would leave the garage door open and someone would be inside when they arrived. They never came back. Of course i had to call to get someone back to the house (they didn't bother to call me that day or to follow up) and a follow up appointment was made. When the tech came back out he put oil into the system but never fixed an issue with a part that was leaking oil, even though i clearly pointed this out upon his initial arrival the following week. He noted what part had to be ordered and said he should be able to come back within 7-10 days to repair the damaged part. After two weeks i contacted Zev (person who sold me the lift) and asked what the status was of the part. He said 7 days. I accepted that answer. Ten days go by and now call about the part. I reached out again and asked where the part was. Zev said "the following week". Another week went by and again i had to reach out but this time no answer. In fact after 3 emails to the company i was told by Zev "we can have someone out on Tuesday". Tuesday came and they no showed. I followed up 5 times after this only to get a nasty series of emails from Zev today stating he had been out of the country for 3 weeks and it was my fault for not contacting someone at the store. Only problem here is last week he actually followed up via email stating someone would be out Tuesday. After I questioned why his stories keep changing he told me to "find someone else to fix your lift", "i don't need you as a customer" and in so many words that i will have to take him to court if i don't like what he has to say. Basically all of this because i questioned why it has taken 8 weeks to get service for my lift. Mind you i actually paid for the annual inspection service too! I spent almost $14,000 with this company and now can't get any service. I have an unrepaired issue that could potentially cause serious damage if not repaired but the company (Zev) apparently could care less. Of course after i checked out some review sites online, like BBB.org, i noticed they have an F rating and their membership has been revoked. read more

I wrote a five star review over a month ago, and unfortunately, now I have to amend it. While the team that installed my garage was phenomenal, as is the product, my experience post-installation has been deplorable. To summarize: * The total cost on the order/estimate as agreed upon by Jeff and myself was $13,663 with a $1,000 Yankee Discount. This would mean that the cost would be no more than $12,663. The total cost charged to my card was $15,277.78. * Under the heading of Baskets and Racks, Jeff indicated that my total quantity was 6. To date I have only 3, regardless of many promises that he would drop them at my house. * I have attached the text messages I have exchanged with Jeff over the past month. To summarize: Work was completed Tuesday, March 10, after which Jeff asked me to write a positive YELP post. I did. Monday, March 16 I asked Jeff to drop off my baskets. He said they were out of stock and would deliver once they came in. They never did. Friday, March 20 I texted Jeff telling him I still had not gotten my final invoice. He said he would check and get it to me. He never did. Tuesday March 24 I told him I wanted my invoice. Jeff asked for my email and said he would send it that afternoon. I gave him my email. He said he would send it. He never did. Saturday, March 28 I told Jeff I still hadn't received my baskets. No reply Sunday March 29 I received my credit card bill with over $15,000 worth of charges to Potomac Garage Solutions. I called Jeff immediately and left a very angry message about his dealing with this issue and his service to me. I received a text message from Jeff that his niece was in a car accident and died. He said he would contact me after the funeral. He never did. I have not heard a word from Jeff. While I am sorry about the tragedy that has befallen his family, he has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated and like this whole experience definitely was not worth it, no matter how nice my garage is. read more

So I left a bad review for this company and then I retracted it after I believed it was a case of mistaken identity. The company declared that they were not affiliated with the company in Rockville MD (the target of my bad review) so I retracted my comments. Then after battling with the Rockville company about overcharging my credit card (only after I disputed the charge with Amex), I finally received an invoice outlining the components of my bill. You can imagine my surprise when I realized the email signature of the sender of that invoice was the mailing address of THIS "unaffiliated" company. Thanks to the help of Amex dispute team, we have gotten the over charged amount back. On the plus side, we are extremely happy with our new garage even though I was very disappointed with the business practices. read more

So I contacted them and interviewed three companies. Potomac had the best price and strategy for the project. Little did I know it was about to go south in a hurry. It started where they could not find my proposal. When I asked for a copy of the proposal, it came back over $6600. I asked Jeff why, and he told me they could not find my original paperwork. (The entire process, you could tell they were VERY DISORGANIZED). Once I got them to commit to the correct and original price, the process got worse. I checked my credit card statement. They charged me twice for the 50% deposit. I called and spoke to Vikki, who said she had no record of charging me twice and that everything was fine. I was confused and concerned that they had no record of receiving an additional $2250 deposit. I asked for a resolution and a call back which I received neither. I confronted Vikki a week later to find out what was going on and it was obvious that nothing was done. I explained to Vikki, that i was calling my credit card company to get the 2nd double charge removed. I then called Vikki to give her an update. She still had no information from our credit card company but agreed this was resolved. On Christmas eve (today) I got a call from the owner, who was very arrogant and obnoxious saying I have not payed my bill and I was in Jeopardy to have my project cancelled. I explained that they charged me twice. He said he had no record and would not look into it. I then conference in the credit card company and they verified they charged me twice. I explained to the Owner that he owed me an apology. Instead of doing the right thing (which they have not done since the beginning), he said he did not need my business and was cancelling my order. I then had my credit card company refund the other deposit. This company is VERY disorganized, their business practices are shady at best. Though Jeff is a very good sales person when he comes to hour house, behind the scenes, they are shifty. I am SO glad the work was never done. The worst company I have worked with since I moved to MD. read more

The work was done on time and without any hassles to us. At the end the job looked very nice and met all our expectations. The service is terrible. They still have not been able to get my car lift working after 2 months. Multiple visits with a new motor and not been able install it. The last 2 incidents were showing up with the motor and no electrician to wire it in and then a no show on the follow up visit. I should not have to sit at home 5 days to get this thing install. read more

EXTREMELY impressed with these guys. Garage door completely broke (broken spring, off the rails kind of broke). Called at 5 on a Saturday thinking I'd have to wait until Monday at the earliest to get it fixed. Nope! At my house within a couple hours (from over an hour away). Sorry I did not get another floor estimate for past work. This time around I saw it for what it really was. I was offered a discount/deal as a returning customer. However the discount offered and the throw in for free for extra floor coverage and custom color for the 4 garage doors with lift master 8500 motors was just lip service and not in fact a reality since their quote for the Garaga garage doors and motors installation was $1539.23 higher than their competitor Mr. Doors. The polyurea floor covering quote was over 2500 dollars higher than Ultimate Garage Floors. Glad I did not sign the contract on the spot. I will note that I was very satisfied with the quality of their past work. read more

I used Potomac Garage Solutions to install a new floor and Gladiator storage system in our garage. Our garage looks amazing and the installers were friendly, professional and did an excellent job. I have one big complaint. One of the main parts of our order ( shoe racks for our family of five) was left off the order form and my representative will not honor our detailed verbal agreement. The placement and installation of shelving for shoes was discussed in detail so It is perplexing how this was not part of our "solution". He simply stated we will get you everything you need and can work out the details later once the paneling is installed. It is a shame the job ended this way because our garage is wonderful, organized and we love everything. I am disappointed that this error on the order form, with such an easy resolution, did not turn out differently. The sales rep expects us to pay more for an already EXPENSIVE job that is incomplete. read more
