I've been here so many times. I am from Chicago and well favorite is the wreck. The ladies who were doing the sandwich were ok. They were not that friendly. The ambience is average. I had terrible customer service from the manager named Fran. I got a half a sandwich with a cup of soup order. It was a Cheese Broccoli soup but it was so thick like it was old and had been sitting out for a while. So I politely asked if I could exchange it for another flavor of soup and she said No! She said I had to purchase another soup if I wanted it. Then I said you going to be like that and let me walk away unsatisfied. I come here pretty often for lunch its always good but I have to say out of all employees I have been helped by Justin twice he is a very helpful person and making our sandwiches right is a big thing! The employees are hip, the food is hot & fresh, and if you're lucky you'll get to hear some groovy live music. I almost always get A Wreck (roast beef, salami, turkey, ham, and swiss cheese) with everything on it. Potbelly's hot giardiniera mix is A-OK in my book, and the sandwich quality has historically been terrific. The mac'n'cheese has been a recent addition to their menu, and it's some good stuff. It's the creamy white mac variety, and with an abundance of toppings to pick from, it steals some thunder from their toasted sub lineup. Broccoli cheddar soup has won me over on more than a few occasions and definitely hits the spot on a cold blustery day. They rotate out soups every month, so I'd recommend trying the new flavors when they roll in. Pretty reasonable prices. If you ever see a pina colada shake being offered, BUY ONE. Potbelly uses pineapple ice cream and shredded coconut to create a lovely tropical treat for your tastebuds....the cookie garnish on the straw is a delightful flourish. Every now and then a guy with a mic stand + guitar will be plugged into an amp, playing tunes for customers and employees alike. On a Friday following Glenn Frey's passing, the musician de jour was playing Eagles covers, which I found to be a really thoughtful gesture. I asked him to do 'Hotel California', and not only was he cool enough to oblige, he actually did a remarkable job. I tipped him a few well-earned bucks. Normally I'd pass on the whole bread/circuses thing for a chain joint, but since Potbelly does everything so above and beyond the industry standard, they get my highest marks: Bread = 5 Circuses = 5 But yeah, the live music is a super cool touch--and quite frankly, something that Potbelly's really doesn't have to do at all--but they go the extra mile towards customer satisfaction. As far as chain sub sandwich places go, Potbelly is pretty top notch. The only way they could make this place any better is if they started serving foot longs. But I'm pretty content with how they are. Much more flavor than Subway subs, yet they don't get too carried away trying to come up with "creative", or just plain weird, subs like Quiznos (e.g. turkey bacon guacamole??). Potbelly sandwiches are made with care by their always friendly staff, allowing you to customize your sub pretty much however you want. I have not tried all their subs, as I have a hard time getting away from their Clubby sandwich, which is my very favorite. But I can also verify that their Italian & "A-Wreck" sammies are delicious as well. Also, try their many different soups! Very good. I'm also a big fan of their online ordering via their website. You can choose to pick your order up as early as 11am when they open. Every so often I'll place an order the night before, & pick my food up on my lunch break the next day! read more

First and foremost, I would like to give a shout out to Shannon for her excellent customer service, kindness, and for always greeting me by name, with a hello and a smile! I visit this Potbelly location about once a week. The food is always great. I almost always get the skinny mushroom melt and my boss gets The Wreck. Both are very consistent in flavor. Potbelly's chili is very good also. Especially on cold, snowy/rainy Chicago days! This location does get pretty busy at lunch time, but I feel that the employees all handle the occasional chaos very professionally and in an orderly fashion. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant, and while it can sometimes be loud, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is in a sunny location. Parking can be a little tight (there is ample space, but I have watched work trucks struggle to park because of the layout.) Overall, Potbelly gets 2 thumbs up from me! read more

I love this place. I'm probably here at least once a week. You know you have a Potbellys problem when the employees already know your order without you having to tell them. The employees are great and very inviting. I think the older man that works here owns the franchise, or something, because he's always there. One time, they messed up my boyfriend's order and the old man comp'd some cookies. Do you think Subway would do that?! I think not. I love this place so much. Their food is so good. Their dream bars are to die for. The dream bars are so good, that me and my boyfriend refer to them instead as the night mare bars because I know it's adding pounds to my waist. Good food and good service. The food always seems fresh and hot. Never had a bad experience here. My only complaint is that the trays always feel slimey. They have three major choices: regular sammie, big sammie or a salad. They also have soup, shakes, and cookies. I've never tried a salad, but they do look good and the portions are HUGE. The oreo shake is so good and the soup is pretty good. I've tried their cookies and they tasted like carboard, so it is the only thing I wouldn't recommend. How can Potbelly be out of sugar cookies at 11:15 am?? Let's face it, a lot of people choose this sandwich place because of their cookies. I don't get how they can be out so early, maybe they didn't get a shipment in or something, the girl at the register wasn't very forthcoming, she just said "nope" when I asked if they had any cookies. Anyway, there's not much you can say about Potbelly, good sandwich, hard bread, blah blah blah, it's the same at every Potbelly. I guess my pet peeve at this place (other than the lack of cookies) is that I have to wait a long time for my sandwich because they are filling catering or call in orders. I placed an order for my measley turkey sandwich and waited and waited and waited... I kept seeing sandwiches come through and would have a glimmer of hope but not mine. It turns out they had a huge order they had to fill. I guess I was just hoping since I was standing there at the counter my turkey would take priority. I'll go back again of course but maybe I'll call ahead to make sure they save me a cookie. read more

Since my work place is near by I used to go this place at least once in a week. Its one of the best sandwiches you would get in this area. I love their fresh breads and delicious soups. The employees are friendly and helpful. On a side note the music is also quite good there. read more

For the most part, Potbelly's is a knock out of a sandwich place. This particular location is definitely one of the better managed Potbelly's in the chain. It is clean, quick, and friendly. This pot belly location is one I frequent most and the food is good, but the service is one of the slowest I've ever experienced. Obviously I don't mind waiting if it's busy with customers, but when I'm the only one ordering and it takes longer than usual its disappointing. Every time I come here it takes them a while to even start on my order. The staff doesn't seem to have a sense of timely food service. I visit this location regularly and I have never had a bad experience there. I went there today for lunch with my mom and the service was excellent. I ordered their new sandwich, the turkey fresco (which is delicious, by the way) and I originally asked for no red peppers, but the guy ended up putting them in the sandwich. When I went up to ask if I could get it without red peppers, he apologized and made me my sandwich the way I wanted it. He brought it to our table, apologized again, and gave us a free cookie on the house. I unfortunately did not get the guy's name, or else I would definitely give him a shoutout to corporate, but his service was excellent. Great place! read more

The uptown salad is probably my favorite salad ever..unless it's at this location. This is the second time I've been disappointed with the way this location makes this salad. The first time the lettuce was old. I decided to try again a few months later and now they forget to add the best part..the candied walnuts! I was so disappointed when I got all the way home to find they didn't add the very reason the salad is my fav!! Come on guys, the ingredients are listed right there for you. I even heard the worker say to the other worker, "we are just missing the chicken " before packing it up for me to take....nope, you forgot the walnuts! The food is always delicious, but the delivery is just ridiculous. I placed an order today at 11AM and did not get my food until just now (12:45) I even called the store and was told that they only have one delivery driver and that since we didn't place our order early enough we had to wait. People had placed their order 3 days ago. Obviously, they knew something we did not and correctly ordered their food with many days in advance. Nick, the man I spoke with, didn't seem to think that this was an issue. Such a shame too because their sandwiches and salads are great. Worst customer service ever! The employees are very rude and seem to be bothered that you are ordering from them. The last time I was in an employee made a mistake on my sandwich and mouthed the word F**K and threw it in the garbage. Then the next time I came in the same employee "forgot" to make my sandwich. Last week I went to Potbelly for lunch and I had a really good sandwich called "The Wreck." Along with my sandwich, I got an Oreo shake which was also very tasty. The sandwich was made really well and I enjoyed it. The workers greeted me with a smile which made me feel welcomed. Since I had such a good experience this time, I will gladly be back soon.
