Best decision we made. Fruit Street Kitchen serves up some of the tastiest food in South Haven at a trainable price point. It is a must-stop if you are in the area. We were greeted by Monique who was so helpful in narrowing down our choices. Truly, everything on the menu looked amazing. We choose the fried catfish, pork tip with BBQ sauce and sides of baked beans, greens and coleslaw. Each dish was cooked to perfections and exploded with flavor. Our catfish was crispy, tender and well seasoned; not the least bit greasy. The pork rib tips had amazing BBQ flavor without being overpowered by the sauce. It is possible, however, that our sides were the stars of the meal. We love greens and these greens, made with smoked Turkey, had so much flavor without being salty. Similarly, the baked beans were excellent and the coleslaw was cold, crispy and tangy. Though we were full, we couldn't leave without dessert. The banana pudding would have been our first choice, but they were out. So we tried the beautiful-looking pineapple cake. It was moist, fruity and not too sweet. The truck is next to a quiet park and there are a couple picnic tables outside if you wish to stay. The environment is quite comfortable. Caramel cake, banana pudding and pineapple upside down cake are interesting dessert choices. They offer daily specials such as rib tips and pulled pork. Call in your order early and you will have a timely pick-up. Very well breaded fried catfish and fried pork chops are solid choices; added in the rib-tips for variety today. Chops are aggressively seasoned; maybe a little salty. Baked spaghetti plus mac and cheese for sides; excellent M&C; spaghetti is good but seasoning/herbs not quite my speed. Fun desserts definitely worth a try. Caramel cake was the hit today!! Outdoor patio seating is next to the food truck as an alternative to take-out.

If you're enduring a dreary Michigan day of rain and/or overcast, the interior will brighten up your day. My only suggestion: More AC please when the outdoor temperature goes above 80. The dressing was just "okay" and unfortunately I bit into a large chunk of fat from the turkey meat in the dressing so that didn't help. The real star was the gumbo greens. My dad was also not a fan of the dressing, but he said he would have gotten the gumbo greens for both his sides if he had known how good they were. My mom enjoyed her food as well as the strawberry crunch cake I suggested she get. I am not sure if I missed it my first visit, but when my order was being rung up I noticed a cash and non-cash price flash on the screen. I did not see any signage on the door about the extra fee for paying by card, and the cashier did not mention it. That is such a big pet peeve for me. I placed an order on their website; paid online and chose curbside pickup. Was given a time window for pickup and also received a message when my order was ready. As soon as i got there I replied to their message with my parking lot number and within a minute my food was brought to me !
