The owners of this establishment are the two rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I wish I could say this was an isolated incident but it's not. My daughter and I have been coming in to this restaurant since the early 2000's and every single time we go in it's a problem with ordering. We get potato's without the vegetables and it's a problem every time. I can't understand why it's a problem to get a potato with bacon and cheese only? It's not that hard but somehow it baffles these people and gives them a massive attitude every time you order a bacon, cheddar only potato. The female owner rudely corrected me in the past when I ordered by saying "bacon, cheddar only, no veggies." She says only obviously means nothing else don't say no veggies. Apparently the male owner has a different opinion because today the shit hit the fan. I ordered my potato's "bacon, cheddar only" as directed by his wife and as they were being made I saw that they were being loaded with veggies. I politely said that I didn't want the veggies and they owner lost his mind telling me I didn't know how to order. He pointed to the menu where it says veggies are on the potato. I told him, I said bacon, cheddar only that means no veggies. Your wife told me that I didn't need to say no veggies. He continued to berate me about how I didn't know how to order and told me I was a horrible person. He got worse and even more aggressive once I asked for my money back. He told me to get the fuck out of his restaurant and never come back. He snatched a soda aggressively away from me. He said he was going to call the police on me. That's a real nice way to treat a loyal customer of 20+ years. I was with my daughter who is 39 weeks pregnant. He threatened to call the police on an old woman and a 39 week pregnant woman over some veggies on a potato. Insanity. Over the years that I have been coming in I have watched these people berate numerous customers and treat pretty much everyone in a rude and condescending way. I have never seen them be what I would describe as "nice" to anyone. At the most you get indifferent. No smile, no thank you, no gratitude for your patronage. They think that you are stupid if you come in to patronize their restaurant and they aren't afraid to treat you exactly as such. Some of the things that I have heard them say to people are just awful. So condescending. The only thing that kept me coming back to this place was the potato's. The service has always been awful. They lost a customer of 20+ years today and I know that I can't be the first person to make the decision to never come back. No one deserves to be treated the way these people treat people. Please don't give them your money no matter how much you like the potato. These people don't deserve your hard earned money or your patronage of their restaurant. read more

This place is so nice and healthy for us. The staff is nice and specially the owner. She is very proud of her business and stays on top of what's going on in the business. The potato I had was the Cuban. It was a terrific! A melody of flavors. Chicken was taste and complemented by all the cheese, mango, cucumber, yellow pepper, bacon chips and corn chips. A shining example of why I love the food options in Annapolis, Potato Valley is a must-visit if you're downtown. The service is top bar-none and the owners remember everyone who stops by more then a couple times, maintaining strong relationships with the locals (remembering favorite orders, for instance). Beyond the service, I cannot begin to describe how good of a potato they make. Crispy shell outside with perfectly balanced inside heat, fresh toppings, great mixes, and styles for all types of preferences. Somehow I've been here so many times and yet have never taken a picture of the food because it's become such a regular thing for me. I frequently get the Caribbean chicken potato and my fiancé gets the garlic butter potato and both are exquisite. Seriously, go buy a potato. I didn't even read one review I just looked at pictures and thought, loaded potato omg I'm there! Duh! Place is cute and clean, smack dab in downtown Annapolis. DO NOT GO HERE. The owner yelled at me when I politely asked if there was breading on the top on my potato because I have a gluten allergy and it wasn't labeled as breaded on the menu. I noticed that it looked odd and asked the server if he would remake it and he said yes, but he took it into the back and only tried to scrape the remaining off so I went to the owner and asked again and that's when he yelled at me for not telling him I had an allergy. I'm newer to the area and was recommended this by a friend because of the vegan option. I got the rustic vegan and ordered some extras for family. I really did like the meal, the fried (?) onions that topped the potato were very good and really pulled it all together. This potato essentially had a salad/mix of roasted veggies plopped on top, but that's perfect for my taste! Only complaint is I felt rushed. It was maybe 3 on a Monday and no one else was there. I was in with another family member and we were trying to look through the menu, but felt very rushed. But the man taking our order and man cooking were both nice, I just wish I didn't feel so pressured! But I won't let that deter my rating, solid meal that I'll be coming back to. read more

What a cute concept and adorable little shop! I'm not really a baked potato eater but the first time I passed by Potato Valley Cafe with its long line and tantalizing smell I knew I had to try it! They change the specials all the time, which is cool because there's always something new to try! I had the South of Valley which was delicious and my friend loved his Vegetarian Combo. The potato was perfectly warm and baked and the flavors all mixed together really well (yes, I too was skeptical of the mango on my potato but it works). It's also super filling and I could only eat half of my potato. Enjoying an amazing potato

Today was my first encounter with the Potato Valley Cafe and I must say that I'm quite pleased. Take a stroll around State Circle, you'll eventually see it. This place was pretty small but considering it's so close to my job, I was able to walk there and get my food to go. I ordered the chicken curry potato. The chicken curry mixture was more like a cold chicken curry salad. Yet, I thoroughly enjoyed it...the contrast of the hot potato and cold chicken curry mixture...the soft middle and perfectly crispy outside. Honestly, I could've done without the greens on the side but some people require balance and that's understandable. It does add an extra touch of freshness to your meal. The lady who took my order was nice for the most part. She said it was a crazy day and she encountered some crazy tourists that day. I guess she was trying to make small talk...I just laughed it off. I was more focused on getting my food so I could get back to my office and throw down. Overall, I had a good experience and I'm curious to try more. I have my eye on the chili potato, Cuban chicken potato, and spinach artichoke potato. With the cool weather rolling in, Potato Valley Cafe can expect to see a little bit more of me, especially when I need something comforting. read more

Such a great spot for an easy lunch. You get a whole baked potato with toppings of your choosing. It's satisfying. Usually it's chicken or beef, and apparently they're known for the chicken curry one, but there are also vegetarian alternatives. There are also sandwich options if eating a whole open-faced potato isn't your thing. The place is small, but it has tables for dining in and the line normally isn't too crazy. I need this closer to my house. What could be better than crispy potato skins and soft, creamy insides filled with all sorts of yummy toppings? NOTHING. Potatoes are the best. Though it definitely got busy while I eating, I was able to order and get my food quickly when I got there around 11:50. I debated and debated about which potato to pick but ultimately went with the Cuban chicken, which has spiced, chopped chicken, an amazing chili-lime sour cream, cheddar cheese and a salad on the side. It's probably just to make you feel better about eating ALL the fatty carbs, but it does help brighten the whole thing up. I devoured the whole thing except for just a bit of the skin along the bottom (I was full maybe halfway into it but kept eating because it was just such a great potato). I'd love to try the regular garlic butter and cheddar sometime, as well as the spinach, feta and roasted garlic flavors. read more

We loved this place! So many different baked-potato flavors, all cooked to perfection. Even the skins are tasty. The staff and general vibe of the place are also very welcoming and friendly. We found PVC while looking for vegetarian options in Annapolis, and it was great for that. The in-store menu is organized into columns of vegetarian and meat options (there are plenty of both), which is super-helpful instead of having to read through each description. This place was good and I would definitely go back. It's very quiet, but not crowded (although I went on a week day). They have tons of different options (mostly vegetarian/vegan, but a handful of options with meat). My husband got the cuban chicken potato and it was really good, not a flavor you expect on a baked potato but it was great. I got the chili potato and it was also good, but nothing over the top. My only complaint is that my husband wanted a cup of coffee and it was afternoon so she had to brew a new pot and seemed really annoyed that he only wanted one cup and said she would probably end up having to throw the rest out since no one would order coffee for the rest of the day. read more

I found this place by accident and I'm very glad I did. I was in Annapolis for the day and was looking for a quick bit and I saw "cafe" so figured this was the perfect place. The menu is a little confusing. They have a section called "mixed greens" or something similar that is the next section over from the potato section on the menu. I didn't know, however, that this meant stuff that's included on the potato. I thought when I ordered the feta, spinach, garlic, and bacon, that I was getting a salad. I was glad I was wrong because the potato was delicious. It did take a little long to serve (about 10 min), but it was very good. My potato ended up having feta, sour cream, spinach, roasted peppers, banana peppers, and bacon. Might sound "weird", but was very good. Staff was friendly too. I can't picture myself going here every day because how often can I eat a baked potato? Very good though. read more
