I had a very frustrating experience at Potato Corner in Grapevine Mills. I ordered cheddar fries and waited patiently in front of the counter for quite some time. My name was never called. When I finally asked about my order, the employee preparing the food told me that he had already made it and had given it to someone else. I explained that I had been standing there the entire time and never heard my name called. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, apologizing, or checking the receipt, he repeatedly insisted that the order was already made and that someone else had taken it. I told him that this wasn't my fault and that orders should be verified before being handed to customers. Rather than trying to resolve the issue, he dismissed my concerns and ignored what I was saying. His attitude was rude, unprofessional, and showed a complete lack of customer service. Everyone makes mistakes, but what disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. A simple apology and willingness to fix the mistake would have gone a long way. Instead, I was made to feel as though I was responsible for an error that could have been prevented by verifying the receipt before handing out the order. I hope management provides better customer service training and ensures employees verify orders before giving them to customers. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location. read more

It pains me to see such a great place go downhill after changing owners. The potatoes are no longer made fresh and just sits there becoming stale and hard. They are SO cheap with the seasoning and charge your extra just to get the regular amount of flavor. Pretty much everything about this place is a cash grab for mediocre flavor. read more

The fries here are no joke. They're crispy, and cooked fresh to order, plus the seasonings are fantastic. Every time I'm shopping at Grapevine, I always save some room for their fries. The price is a bit expensive for the amount that you get, but I love their seasoning and fresh fries so much. We usually get the giga size, since it comes with 2 different seasonings, for $9 (tax included). They have this awesome machine that fries the fries instantly. They measure the amount and drop it at the top, then a couple of mins later, it falls out into the metal bowl. It takes about 5-10 mins to get the fries since they're always packed at the stand. We tried their chili BBQ, cheddar, and cinnamon/sugar so far, but the winner is their chili BBQ. It's spicy, a lil salty, and delicious, perfect for the crispy fries. Their cinnamon & sugar isn't bad either, kinda feel like I'm eating a churro, but on a fry instead. Definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing some fries buckets when shopping! read more

I love the concept for this place! The service was fast and it's very casual. We ordered a bucket of Cheddar fries and another bucket of Sour Cream and Onion fries. The sour cream and onion flavored fries were my favorite. I like how crisp the fries are, but I do prefer a thicker fry. Maybe I would have been better off ordering the tater tots that my friend got. I only wish there was seating nearby or that it was located closer to the food court because it felt like we were walking forever just to find a place to eat our food. I believe he tried the Chili BBQ flavor, per the employee's recommendation. The fries were made to order, so there was a bit of a wait. Lots of mix and match options. You pick your size first, then your style (original fries, sweet potato, loopy, etc.), then your flavor (these are sprinkled on flavors like BBQ, Cheddar, Chipotle Cheese, etc). Hubs spent about $12. Recommend if you don't want to visit the food court, have a major hankering for fries and/or want to time travel to 1989. Tried this place out in Grapevine Mills. I guess they just opened not too long ago? But there's two other branches in Arlington and Mesquite. The fries are made fresh and come out hot. They have all types of fries that you can pair with seasonings. Just tried the traditional fries with garlic parmesan and there was more than enough flavoring but it just wasn't as amazing as I had expected. Worth a try still. The fries are also better when fresh, as they cool down, they don't taste as great anymore. The pricing is a bit expensive too for just fries. They have three sizes to choose from. When I saw them making it they gave me regular fries, and when I asked the worker he said it was a dollar extra for sweet potato fries but seemed lackluster to fix the problem. The person taking my order was talking to a co-worker and messed it up at the beginning so that should've been a big sign for me to double check the order. Anyways I ate my order and the fries were stale, paying $5 for stale fries seems super no worth it for me. My friend ordered the curly fries and they were fresh and decent. As if fries couldn't get even more amazing! Such a great concept. Basically you pick the size (jumbo, mega, giga), type of fries you want (original, tater tots, chips, curly fries, or sweet potato), then your flavorings (BBQ, cheddar, sour cream & onion, chili BBQ, cinnamon sugar, garlic & parmesan). You can pick as many different types of flavors as you'd like! However, the seasonings will be mixed (ex: garlic Parmesan + cheddar rather than half garlic Parmesan and half cheddar). The only way you can have 1/2 of separate flavors is if you order the largest size of fries (giga). I definitely recommend mixing garlic Parmesan plus cheddar or BBQ plus cheddar, both combinations taste amazing! They also have chicken and baked potatoes but I didn't give that a try. It can be a bit pricey for portions that you get, but it tastes amazing so I don't mind paying the price. read more
