The notary refused to notarize a DMV document (REG 166) releasing the lien on an automobile. He adamantly claimed that the person who is having the lien removed needed to sign, not me, the current lienholder. He refused to acknowledge the following text on the DMV document: "The undersigned lienholder (legal owner of record) certifies release of interest in the vehicle/vessel." Advise you to find a professional notary somewhere else who is more pleasant to work with. read more

Good customer service makes ALL the difference! *insert three claps* We needed some documents to be notarized but are notary newbs. We called around for some quotes and PostalAnnex+ was the most helpful. They not only gave us their quote, but a rundown of how pricing works in CA, as well as comparisons of mobile notaries vs in store ones. This phone exchange made our buying decision to visit them in store. Upon arriving, there was a short line but the gentleman working was speedy quick. I watched him handle the eccentric (I'm being nice) customer before me with patience and smiles. When it was my turn, I was greeted by the best customer service. He was so sweet and considerate. He gave me all the info for all the steps we will go through to notarize. I'll spare the details, if you're curious, give them a call. They can definitely explain better than I can ;) I hadn't even realized that I didn't need to make an extra trip to UPS until he asked if I wanted to ship it out there. "One stop shop" he said. Just such a cute fellow. Makes me love supporting local. Pricing was the same over the phone as in person. $15/signature as standardized in CA. Shipping was easy breezy. God BLESS this place!!!! I made the mistake of thinking I could run a quick errand on a Saturday morning. All I had to do was swing by the post office and return a package to a vendor. Since for some retarded reason the Hermosa Beach Post Office thinks it's "too cool" to be open on Saturdays I had to go to the Redondo Beach post office (no biggie they're both within walking distance of my house) However the lines at the RB post office are always so long and this particular Saturday the line extended all the way outside!!!! Why don't you procrastinators do your Holiday shopping and shipping earlier for Pete's sake? Soooooooooooo I proceeded to this postal annex that's RIGHT across the street. I walked right in and right up to the counter where the cutest husband and wife tended to my needs. They printed out my label, taped my box shut, processed my payment and I was off! PEEEERRRFECT!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I was the only person in there! I probably paid a bit more but you know what, if I hadn't ditched the post office I'd still be in line right now (and I'm writing this review 3 days later!!!) FYI- They are open until 6pm, if you don't have cash and need to use your card he has a $5 minimum. I found myself in this predicament a few times and when I find myself scowering around for a pen or envelopes the owner politley suggests I buy a book of stamps instead and I love him for that! If I'm looking for a particular item to arrive, David is happy to check over the phone and/or call me directly when it arrives. I've had a mailbox here for more than 15 years. Always smiling faces greeting me each and every time I come in the shop. When we rented a UHaul truck from them, they were courteous and efficient. I actually took the extra 30 seconds to check the mileage, the moving blankets, and the other equipment in the back. This is the same way I check EVERY time I rent equipment from ANYBODY. They provide great and complete services at a reasonable rate. Of course it will cost slightly more than if I stood in line at the Post Office and dealt with a brain-dead clerk sitting behind two inches of bomb-proof glass to send a small package that I would have to pass through an airlock. I'm willing to pay a little more to support local businesses and great people while feeling like I'm safe in their store. read more

Do not use the Uhaul service!!! I reserved a truck and an appliance dolly. I was contacted twice to verify I was coming but was told I could not take the dolly. They said it was not Uhaul but their own. They offered not help or apology when I asked how I was supposed to get the refrigerator out at the drop off 250 miles away. When asked what I should do, I was told complain to Uhaul (which I did) Uhaul was awesome. They found a dealer along the route where I could pick up a dolly along the route and even reimbursed me for the day rate the first place charged me to use the dolly for one hour. They also shorted me one moving pad (they charge $5 each for missing ones at the drop off). Avoid this place at all cost. Go to a real Uhaul dealer, they are great. This place is not honest or helpful. Uhaul is great but the Redondo Postal Annex should be avoided. There are two real Uhaul sites not far away, use them. read more

I have lived across the street from Postal Annex in Redondo Beach for thirty years. It is a small, dark, unclean store that smells terrible. The man who runs it often eats at the counter. He is rude, makes people wait unnecessarily, and sometimes just drifts away for several minutes. I stopped trying to use Postal Annex in Redondo years ago, but today the man who runs the store turned down my fifty-one year-old daughter's valid driver's license because the photo "doesn't look like her" (she cut and colored her hair). There are options -- two of them -- within a block of Postal Annex. I will never set foot in that place again, and suggest others avoid rude treatment and a nasty environment in favor of more legitimate places where you know you're getting appropriate service. read more

I just came to this horrible place with a friend so she could drop off a U-Haul. I have done this many times. Standard operating procedure dictates that they 1. walk around the truck to check for damage, 2. Check the mileage and gas, 3. Make sure you are returning any accessory that you may have rented. To start this horrible experience the woman who owned the place had the stiffest body language I have ever seen. Then she proceeded to march out to the truck in a very aggressive manner. She opened the back and miscounted the 6 blankets we rented. When we corrected her she barked YOU DIDN'T FOLD THEM RIGHT! BRING THEM IN THE STORE. My friend brought them in to the sore and set them down. The owner yelled "YOU FOLD THEM AGAIN! When I chirped in " Excuse me you are speaking to adults." My friend called U-Haul corporate while this nonsense was going on. The owner continued to march around and bark orders in a very aggressive manner. She was taking pictures of the "poorly folded blankets". This whole experience degenerated in to a screaming vs logical counterpoint argument that was not winnable. The psycho owner lady calmed down and started changing her demands. At the end of the day we walked out without any extra charges and a huge headache. Only because we stuck up for ourselves. Don't do business with these unprofessional idiots for any reason. This is not a vindictive review read my other reviews and tips. I only give 1 star reviews to real ripoffs, scams and absurd businesses. This is one. This review only sums up the cliff notes of this terrable experiance. read more
