There needs to be an option to give zero stars. I don't mind that the place looks like a bomb hit it. I don't mind that there is Indian music blaring out. I don't mind that the person serving is abrupt and quite rude. I do mind that she tried to rip me off. The sign clearly says you must spend a minimum of $20 if you want to use a card. It is even more for American Express. Most people use cards these days. When she rang up my shipping item, it was at least $10 more than it would have cost with the US Postal Service. I took it to the UPS store and the cost was reasonable for a lot of add-ons, including signature and tracking. Recommendation - get a cleaner and a merchandizer to sort out your store. read more

As others have stated, I wish I could give this store a 0 star review. I went into this location on Saturday, 1/25 needing to ship some gifts home from San Diego that wouldn't fit in a suitcase. There was no one in the store and the male worker was behind the counter (I did not catch his name). I set the items down on the counter and he immediately took a look at my items, gave an irritated huff and asked me "what do you want?". I was a bit stunned at how rude he was out of the gate and it only got much worse from there--before I ended up leaving with my items he repeatedly argued with me about the best way to pack them, insisted that I leave them with him without giving me a price and stated that he would call me later to collect my credit card information and then repeatedly told me that if I were to pack the items the way I wanted that they would absolutely arrive damaged. I told him I had previously (and repeatedly) shipped the same items in the same way I desired with no issues and he simply would not listen. I've never encountered someone so belligerent in a customer service position as this man. He began to shout at me and I told him that I wasn't going to work with him speaking to me like that. I took my things and left and went to another Postal Annex location a few miles down the road where I got quality service from a kind and competent worker (shout out to Josie) who didn't treat me like hot garbage. I don't even know how to start this LOL... I went to this location couple minutes ago and asked the woman if she could print only 1 sticker, in a sticker paper. She asked me which type and all that, said that she could do and I'd just have to cut it. I sent the file to her and the picture was too big, so I said to her that I'd come back later with another archive, with the right size. She pretended that she did not listen and print it anyway and said: oh now it's printing, $4 dollars! I was like: is that real?! Btw, she also printed it in a regular paper, instead of sticker paper. I have been dealing with this business for over 10 years, and I am fed up. Yesterday I was actually in the store as I watched them give my packages to another customer, who began opening them. One of these contained medical supplies for my wife. The packages had arrived over the course of three days, yet they gave all of them to this other customer. I would be less angry, I suppose, if this was the first, or even the fifth time this has happened. This morning I went back to the store to make sure that *I* actually receive my FedEx delivery today. The store was open, two other customers were standing around inside the store, but no one was there. I took video of my search for an alleged worker inside the store. The doors were wide open, nothing was locked, and absolutely anyone could stroll in and take whatever they wanted. Including mail. I was in my car, about to drive away, and the woman who appears to be the primary problem at this place came out of the CVS next door, and strolled leisurely back to her store.... I have had my box there for 20 years. I was out-of-town for a family emergency, and emailed them to pay. They prefer check over credit card, due to fees. They also included there would be a $40 late fee. I asked them for their written policy on fees, and they never responded. I contacted Postal Annex HQ and they could not get these folks to provide any information either. After 2 months of this problem, they were refusing to cash my check and still did not provide ANY information spelling out their fee policy. (See photo for what is on the wall.) . Be cautious when using this facility. I recently went here to overnight a package. The person at the front handed me a piece of paper and instructed me to fill out my phone number, home address and email address. When I declined she said she had to have my phone number in order to send the package. While she was entering the address to whom I was sending the package too, she insisted she needed that phone number as well. Once it was time for payment she explained she had to have my husbands phone number and email address because we were using his credit card. At this point my husband was suspicious and gave her a faulty phone number. Since then, my phone has been riddled with numerous spam calls and text messages. I reached out to my friend who I sent the package too and they have had non stop spam calls and texts as well. Going from never getting a spam call to averaging 8 a day is a huge pain. I highly recommend that if you use this facility to not give them your phone number or email. Personally I wouldn't trust a place that obviously sells your information. I certainly will be driving a few miles out of my way to ensure that I don't have to deal with a shady establishment. read more

Pretty simple place. I just needed to drop off a letter for my wife. The drop box is right up front by the entrance with a big sign saying "Mail drop" along with the pick up times. I am sorry, I am a small business owner myself and went in there today to overnight a letter sized package either UPS or Fed Ex. Was quoted $88. I also then asked about USPS, since I know they do that with a small upcharge. the owner said, it was $48, but would never arrive in KY tomorrow - would only be there in 3-4 days and she would never recommend it. That seemed odd. So, I drove the post office in Del Mar and arriving tomorrow for $26.60. What an awful way to conduct your business. I have had my mailbox at this location for about three years now. I have used Postal Annex+ for my business address for over 20 years. This keeps and separates by business and personal mail services. Of the three locations I have used, this is the nicest, most congenial management team I have dealt with. I have not dealt with other services offered other than mailing and their notary republic services, so I cannot address the one star people's complaints, other than to say Del Martians seem to feel entitled and tend to be highly critical. Being nice, polite and having a smile tends to get the same response regardless of what service you want or need. There are plenty of mail services around this area, but for convenience and service, I am quite happy. read more

I was shocked when I tried to drop off a package and they wouldn't take it without a $2 fee. I had already prepared the package with a prepaid shipping label. I would understand a fee if I was asking for ANY kind of service but they're extending service -- and likely collecting a fee from the federal government- to act as a satellite post office. The second time I have been here to drop off a package. The first experience was ok, but I had to dig for cash because she will not let you use your debit unless you spend at least 10$. Thank God I had it or I would have to buy something for the hell of it. The second time I was even more irritated because although I had a prepaid package, I had to tape up the box. She said she would charge me $2 to put tape on it! Or I could buy a very small roll for $5. I almost did, took out my debit card, but oh yeah, I needed to spend at least 10$. UGH. I had no cash this trip and she knew I was irritated, she told me she'd do it for me ONE time only at no charge. Wow, so very kind of her to do that ;) Oh and she was on the phone the whole time and said she couldn't hang up because she was on hold. I think if I conveniently need to drop a package at UPS I would only stop here if it was taped up and ready for a quick drop only. I'll go up to the Highlands where they have super cool and nice guys and will tape up your box for you at NO charge! I agree with the other reviewers - they upcharge a ridiculous amt which I didn't realize. Thank goodness I was only mailing a card so the total amt was not as much as if I shipped a package, but they charge DOUBLE what it costs for the stamp! And it took twice as long to get to where I sent it (internationally) so the card arrived about a wk and a half after my dad's birthday. I would've been better off just going to the post office the next day and mailing it out a day later. I will not be going back. My recommendation: Skip this place and go to the regular post office. This Postal Annex, conveniently located in the shopping center just west of I-5 on Del Mar Heights, has the kindest, friendliest staff and most efficient service I've ever experienced in a shipping store. They ship UPS/ FedEx/ USPS, and always recommend the most economical option. They offer a host of other services as well, including use of a computer, printer, faxing, duplicating, and much, much more. What I love the most are the extra things they do for me, like weighing mail even though I'm using my own stamps from home; or staying open a little after closing time to let me in & help me out. Good location, nice clean store ( great greeting cards), but very uneven customer service. Sometimes needlessly officious (properly authorized recipient acting for temporarily absent boxholder is nevertheless refused mail because of no mailbox key). Yet when money is due they can ignore the most basic responsibilities (talking to one boxholder about another's balance due). And if a customer has a problem they can be cavalier (unconcerned when a package containing valuable bracelet is lost somewhere between their store and the US Mail). Most working here seem good hearted, earnest, and well intentioned people, but they could use training in how to treat their customers as they would like to be treated. read more

Botched an expensive shipment multiple times and refused to refund my money. On top of that she was on her cell phone and made me wait to even speak to her about the package until she finished her call. I was sending time sensitive materials and her inability to properly prepare shipment info on the postage box delayed delivery over a week. As soon as I took it to another postal shop they were able to take care of things right away. I always see the same woman working here I'm not sure if she's the owner, but she's totally incompetent, has poor English skills, and awful customer service. Stay away. read more
