Post is a quaint restaurant that me and the wife stopped by for brunch. She ordered pancakes with blueberries and I got a chicken sausage biscuit. I gotta say, that was the best chicken sausage I've ever had. I also had a mango margarita, which was tasty. The pancakes were good, made fluffy, which my wife doesn't prefer, but I do. Service was friendly, it got busy though and there were no check ins throughout our meal. Cool ambiance, they're nestled in an apartment building, there's an old school Bell Atlantic payphone near the front entrance.
Cute brunch spot with pancakes and biscuits!! They have a decent amount of tables so a solid place to go without weekend reservations Rly liked the pancakes - has that homemade taste with the slight crunch around the edges. Biscuits are a bit much so def recommend sharing. pancakes $17* add blueberries $3 fried chicken biscuit $20 post breakfast $18 이스트 빌리지 쪽 많은 브런치 스팟중 하나!
Saw that POST had a decent number of vegan options, so decided to stop by to try a vegan take on comfort food. I tried the vegan biscuit and gravy and wow. Super filling, hearty dish with a flaky buttery biscuit smothered in a delicious mushroom gravy. There was also a just egg patty under the gravy which was nice to have some semblance of protein, would have been even better with vegan sausage. What took this to the next level was the hot sauce - look for the dark red bottle of gochujang hot sauce and eat literally whatever you order with it. There's also a verde hot sauce that's a bit more vinegary and cuts through heavier flavors. For some reason there isn't enough hot sauce for each table, so you may have to ask to borrow from a neighbor if you're without on your table. There's inside and outside seating; best to have a reservation, but if you're a smaller party is does seem like you can get a table for brunch on a weekend if you're willing to wait a bit. Service is really just okay at best, waitress acted like she was being bothered for quite simple requests.
POST is known for biscuit sandwiches and to be honest, I'm not sure if I've ever had this before so it was an interesting experience for me! I had their heartbreaker biscuit - which was a biscuit with a piece of fried chicken as the primary protein. When it arrived it turned out to be bigger than I thought! I really like that the chicken was dark meat, however I did find that the chicken was cooked longer than i would have like since some parts of it seem dry. I also found the entire biscuit to be quite salty.
Brunch perfection in the East Village! Post is a hidden gem tucked away on E 3rd--equal parts cozy café, elevated diner, and effortlessly cool East Village hangout. The moment you walk in, you're hit with warm vibes, friendly staff, and the scent of buttery biscuits and fresh coffee. I came here for brunch and wow. The vegan biscuits & mushroom gravy were insanely good--comfort food with real flavor. My friend got the classic breakfast sandwich and said it was the best bacon-egg-cheese combo he's had in NYC. Their cocktails were on point too (highly recommend the spicy bloody mary). The space is bright and inviting with cute retro touches and a great backyard patio that feels like a mini escape from the city noise. Bonus: the menu has plenty of plant-based options without sacrificing taste or creativity. Whether you're hungover, on a brunch date, or just craving great food in a chill spot, Post delivers. Will 100% be back!
POST was good overall and the restaurant itself is super cute with outdoor seating. It's on the pricier side, but the food was solid. I had the fried chicken biscuit, which was crispy and fresh, and I really liked the house-made hot sauces, especially the jalapeño one. The iced latte I got was good as well. The overall service was great. Everything came quickly and our server was very attentive.
Had a birthday brunch for a friend here with a group of people. I presumed we had a reservation as the place was packed. We were seated in the back (this was in September so it was still nice and warm out). I do have to say that the white fence reflects heat so you may feel like the back of your head is burning if you happen to sit behind it. I had the Fried Chicken Biscuit ($19), which had this sausage gravy dumped on, so you'll want to eat with a fork and knife instead of your hands. This was freakin delicious. Who knew fried chicken, sausage gravy, and a nicely buttered biscuit tastes great together. We also ordered two basket of Truffle Fries ($14) to share with the table. It was a pretty good size basket where we probably could have done away with just one order between the 8 of us. They taste as good as you'd expect them to be. Overall it was a great experience.
The service was absolutely fantastic! Our waiter and host were super attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed. I had the best cappuccino of my life--seriously, I'm still thinking about it. Unfortunately, my pancake didn't live up to the hype. Overall, the food grade is still pending, so for now I'm giving it a 3/5. On a completely different note... there's a horrible photo in the bathroom of a naked man with acne on his back that made me want to vomit. Seriously, they need to remove it. Amazing vibes, though--I'll definitely be back for another cappuccino (and maybe a redo of that pancake).
Lovely little brunch spot! We came into Post on a Saturday morning for a quick brunch. We were very pleasantly surprised with our experience! All of us got different biscuit sandwiches and not a single complaint was heard around the table. It's definitely a no-frills type of establishment as when you order the biscuit sandwich that's all you really get - no sides, but you can obviously order them should you want them. Service was wonderful and they got us in and out pretty quick which was what we were looking for, but had we been desiring a longer brunch we might not have enjoyed this so much. Ambiance is great and truly needs nothing. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Post and will be back soon!
We decided to eat here on a Sunday and it was fairly empty for brunch! There were a few tables but it usually is filled to the brim at their old location. I guess now that they have a new space it's much larger and roomier than expected. Meaning there's tables where you can chat and hang out w friends. For drinks we got the dirty pumpkin spice horchata with oat milk (yes you can ask for it to be made non dairy!) and it was pretty good! We got a few chicken biscuits and a bacon biscuit with gravy on the side and some fries! Everything tasted okay - it wasn't that warm when we received it but flavors in general were simple and not genuine southern but a plainer take on it. I think the disappointing part was mainly that it didn't come hot and I wish that my fried chicken was at least piping hot with oil or something. The window is also open to the public so we had a homeless person badgering us and yelling racist comments at us as we sat near the window. Overall it was an okay experience- I'm not really counting the last part to the review but just putting it out there.
I arrived a bit earlier than my friend, and without a reservation; Mike was very proactive in trying to find me a spot during a very active service rush. I settled on the bar opening, where the liquor was closer. Heidi with the Hat immediately requested my liquid requirements. I ordered a bloody Mary, which was extremely tasty. My buddy finally arrived and we caught up over drinks and brunch. I ordered thenfrench toast and sides of eggs and sausage gravy. The French toast was a baguette style that was not my expectation, should have read the label. Tasty, but chewier than I expect French toast to be. The sausage gravy and egg were superb. The verdict was all thumbs up from my buddy as well: avocado toast. We stayed for a few more drinks and coffee. The volume is low enough to have a spirited conversation. And I gotta say that the decor is very relaxed. My friend lives in that neighborhood and had no idea this spot existed. There is soooo much competition in that area. I get the definite impression he'll be back.
Dropped by POST for a brunch on Saturday morning. i had heard great things about my friends who lived in LES so I was excited to try it out. The reservation process online was simple enough and I was able to snag a table for four. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. The decor was very modern, cute, and chic. To start, I decided to try the grapefruit mimosa. It tasted as expected and was refreshing. For my main, I went with the sausage biscuit. I usually don't love chicken sausage but I will say, this one tasted like the real deal. However, to me, the breakfast sandwich itself fell a bit flat. Everything was well made but the sandwich was well...basic. There weren't any standout flavors and it was a bit dry. I did put some hot sauce on it, which helped the case, but overall, I was not impressed. The salad on the side, however, was super yummy and I would love to get that again. In summary, POST is a solid brunch place. I just didn't think it was anything overly unique.
I'm not really a biscuit gal to begin with and I actually wanted to come here for the pancakes, but this spot ended up being such a nice surprise! I made a reservation for 1 PM on a Sunday and the rest of my party was running a bit late. The host was super kind and didn't give me any trouble about this and even offered to let me sit at the bar while waiting for my friends. In terms of the food, the biscuit sandwiches are super filling. The contents of the sandwich themselves were nothing wild, but these were some of the best biscuits I've had. I actually ate my sandwich as more of an open face sandwich and took the top half of my biscuit home to air fry and enjoy later. Also, don't sleep on their blueberry pancakes!! This is a cute spot for brunch and pretty easy to get a resy, so definitely check it out if you're in the area!

My server Nick was so nice and attentive. I went on a quiet week day so the inside was chill with some good air conditioning and lounge type music. I had an ice tea with the vegan biscuits and gravy which were delicious! I want to come back to try their pancakes and dinner menu. I didn't go outside into the backyard, but that's also an option. read more

Hubby & I enjoyed Saturday brunch here & we had the chicken sausage, egg & cheese biscuit sandwich. It was so large we each had to cut it in half & it was very tasty. The service was great as we arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation & the host was kind enough to seat us early. The place was packed from start to finish, so it's probably best to make a reservation. read more

Pretty good brunch spot. I went here after a hard workout and was insanely hungry, so who knows if my review is reliable. I will say - their fluffy pancakes were so interesting/unique - they almost tasted like a funnel cake? Very delicious but I didn't expect that! I got an egg sandwich on a house made biscuit and devoured it read more

This is my new favorite brunch spot in NYC. In my opinion, it is better than any of the mainstays of lower Manhattan including Clinton Street Baking Company, Egg Shop, Jack's Wife Frida, Russ & Daughters, and Root & Bone. As a Southerner, I have had many biscuit sandwiches in my time, and these are the best I have ever had. Their service is great, though they are quite small so you can expect a wait most days. Pork Biscuit (5/5): This is my favorite menu item at POST. It comes with plenty of tender pulled pork, a delicious mayonnaise, fried egg, and cheddar cheese. You can taste everything and the biscuit is crispy and fluffy. It is not too dense or dry like most biscuits. Even the side salad had a great ginger dressing that made it unique. Pancake Stack (5/5): Their pancake stack comes with either sausage or bacon and a fried egg. Both pancakes were thick but fluffy. It is great as a single entree or for splitting between two people. Sausage Biscuit (Gluten-Free) (5/5): We ordered this biscuit with extra bacon. It was crispy and very flavorful. I would recommend doing so with any of their biscuit options. For those who are gluten-free, their biscuit alternative is more like an English muffin, but it was still great! This is a great find in the East Village. It is pretty cheap for an NYC brunch, the service is quality, and the food is delicious. Finally, the portions are slightly bigger than I expected! read more
POST was a really great spot to grab brunch with friends. We sat in their back garden which was very cute, and more quiet than inside if that's something you care about. Their food was decadent, and we got a feast. We got two orders of the french toast, which was one of the most unique takes on french toast ive ever had. It was basically a deep fried baguette with blueberry compote. Very rich, and something you basically had to split, but amazing in small portions. Got a salad which was good, but I thought there would be more white beans because it was advertised as a white bean salad. And then a chicken biscuit sandwich, which I told was good but the biscuit got a little soggy. We also got an order of fries to split, which came with a yum aioli/mayo. The fries were hit or miss for people, I enjoyed them but my friend just thought they were okay. Depends what you want out of a fry! Great for the vibes and service, and queer owned which is great to support for Pride Month (and all year long of course). read more
Love this breakfast/brunch place in the East Village!! They have some of the best breakfast sandwiches and their gravy, omg is so damn good! I literally could have licked my bowl. The Bacon Rosemary Biscuit Egg Sandwich is delicious!! It has Duroc Bacon (LOVE), lettuce, tomato and a fried egg. The biscuit was so big that I ordered a side of the chicken sausage gravy so I could dip the rest of my biscuit in there. It is very small so plan accordingly as they may not have seating for larger parties. Service is mediocre but forgive them for that and just enjoy the food, or you can just do a carry-out order. It also gets exceptionally warm in here, because it is so small, there is not a lot of air circulating in here. They are closed on Mondays but open every other day so go check them out, promise you won't be disappointed! Cheers & Enjoy! read more

This hidden gem is the best restaurants in East Village! The brunch is spectacular and the dinner is hip & cozy. The restaurant is locally owned & operated and it's likely to see one of the owners in there on a daily basis. The service is always friendly and the food is amazing it's consistently great and the ambiance is lovely. The is a charming white garden too! Even when I order the food for delivery I'm always satisfied. Check out my biscuit pic! read more

POSTING UP! The post is your perfect brunch spot for two! maybe that night after brunch. When you walk in you see they have a 2 seats by the window a long bar and a 4 seat table in the back. This place you can say has got that cozy vibe which is awesome if you're looking to relax with some delicious comfort food with strong coffee and fun delicious cocktails. I have been here twice now, first time getting the sausage biscuit and the second time getting the pancake stack with sausage and they both impressed. The lady got the avocado biscuit which is packed with avocado they do not skimp. The biscuits have a perfectly crisp outside with a soft crumbly inside you can not get it made any better. In addition the food is not greasy which is what you would expect it to be. For the cocktails the lady loved them while I was chugging down the coffee which was not bitter and had a nutty flavor which was really strong. In short: - Awesome brunch - Friendly Staff - biscuit spot - strong coffee - great cocktails - only 1 table it is all bar style seating read more
You had me at "we'd never use anything other than real maple syrup." The mainstay here is biscuit egg sandwich combos, but on weekends they change it up with a pancake stack- which was just what I needed for that sweet & savory combo to get me through the day. My husband couldn't stop eating my pancakes, damnit. Carmelized tops with cake-like insides. Just another reason to come back again. The place is small, but just when we thought we'd need to be on a wait, they pulled a magic trick and put us behind the bar with extra place settings. Get in before 10am in the weekend if you don't have enough patience- but if you do- it will be worth the wait. Free refills on hot coffee too! read more

Loved this simple concept of breakfast sandwiches with homemade biscuits! Quaint restaurant with chic vibes, so get there early to avoid lines. I had the breakfast sandwich with egg and avocado which came with their homemade biscuit. It was juicy and quite the breakfast sandwich. It was stacked pretty high and almost had to break it into two different halves to be able to stuff it in my mouth. Also had the biscuits and gravy and my belly was quite happy. The gravy wasn't too heavy but just enough oomph and flavor to complement the homemade biscuit. read more

4.5 stars. I'm so glad I finally got to try this place after bookmarking it for a while! WAIT: Came on a Saturday around 12:30pm and there was a 5 minute wait. For 2 people the wait doesn't seem to be that long but if you have a larger group I would expect the wait would be much longer. ATMOSPHERE: The inside is very small and narrow. The only seating is one "table" in the back that sits probably 4 people and then the rest is counter seating. I think it only first about 11 people. The tough part is if there are odd number of people that leave and you have a larger group you might have to wait. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it was a warm day (they don't turn on their A/C) so the windows/doors were all open. The inside is all white, white walls and a white counter. Very picturesque, minimalist. It had a retro vibe with the old style music player and old style music. FOOD: Biscuit sandwiches of course! SAUSAGE EGG AND CHEESE - chicken sausage made in house, a slice of American cheese, a fried egg, 2 biscuit halves and then a little side "salad." The chicken sausage was pretty tasty, a little spicy but not overly salty. The egg was perfectly fried with a runny yolk. The biscuit was thick, flaky, soft and warm on the inside. With a slight crunch on the outside. It was a really really good biscuit (not like egg shop where the biscuit was too crunchy). I really enjoyed my sandwich and for $11 it's a really good deal. I was full afterwards. BISCUITS AND GRAVY - 2 large biscuit haves, a fried egg, and then smothered with chicken gravy. Tasty gravy and chunks of ground chicken. Really good as well. They also have this special hot sauce that you can add to it. Overall, very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed out lunch. read more

Great brunch option for lower east side! I came here with three other friends for a Saturday afternoon brunch around 2pm. We sat outside and didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the vegan avocado biscuit. I haven't tried anything else on the menu, but I would recommend ordering this if you are into things like avocado toast. The food tasted great (way better than regular avocado toast) and was very filling for me-I wasn't able to finish the entire order. The biscuits were served with greens mixed with a delicious sesame flavored dressing. The biscuits were so good-you can see in the pictures they were large and flakey. The service was good overall. We asked for hot sauce and they brought out a small tin for the entire table. I didn't end up putting as much hot sauce as I wanted, but it wasn't a big deal because the food tasted excellent without it. Overall, this was an excellent brunch experience. read more

Post was pretty dang good. Ordered the vegan sausage egg and cheese and was surprised how good the vegan sausage and biscuit was. However my friends from the south said the biscuits were noticeably vegan but i thought they were incredible! Iced latte from irving was great. biscuit vegan sausage egg and cheese could have used a bit of like a sauce or a spice or something. vibes were great for a chatty brunch! read more
Love the interior first of all. The drinks are great, I ordered the matcha and chai, interesting choices tho to serve the chai iced and matcha warm. Only thing is I wish the biscuits on the sandwiches are smaller. It's very filling and can be dry because how thick the biscuits are. The bottom of my biscuits was burnt too :/ I liked the pulled pork one but not the sausage biscuits. Maybe the one with gravy is better, I'd like to come back and try, it looks delicious on pictures. read more

First off, I could see why people said this place wasn't good for large groups. It's basically located in someone's living room. If you can get past your fear of claustrophobia, the food will be worth it. I have a NYC marathon qualifier tomorrow and wanted to eat somewhat healthy so naturally I had the pancake stack which consists of two pancakes sandwiching a sausage patty with a fried egg on top. Not even a salad on the side to save some of my dignity. Midway through my meal, I honestly thought to myself bruh wtf are you doing? But it was sooo delicious. I probably won't eat again for two days. read more

Do not come here if you aren't planning on ordering from their biscuit menu. We decided to come here for my boyfriends birthday brunch and as you can see the portions are so so sad. Drinks were not good and the avocado was hard/not edible. I literally got 4 fries and my burger was dry and falling apart. My boyfriend ate his food in 5 minutes and we were so hungry still after even though we paid 50$ for 2 drinks and our meals. x Overall I would never come back here due to slow service and portion to price to food quality ratio. read more
Not too big of a restaurant but it definitely had an intimate feel to it since everyone sits together at the bar top. We wandered into here due to all the other places around the area were either packed and had a long wait or needed reservations. We shared an avocado egg biscuit which came with a side salad. It was delicious and I'm glad we discovered POST on a whim! read more

The biscuits are out of this world, and the plates are cheap for this tucked away brunch gem. Overall: 4.3 / Food: 4.2 / Service: 4.0 / Space: 4.4 / Value: 4.8 Over two brunch occasions I've had the pancakes, the plain sage biscuit, and the biscuits and gravy. The star of the show is the biscuit, which is massive and gourmet-bakery quality--anything off their biscuit menu is bound to blow you away. The sage biscuit is heavily sage flavored and is sheer delight with just jam and butter. The biscuits-and-gravy was a great way to experience their biscuit with a rich and chunky sausage gravy, with the yolk from a fried egg mixed in as an added bonus. The pancake platter was decent, but pales compared to their biscuit dishes. It was more of a high-end McGriddle for me, with less of a focus on the pancakes than I had hoped. The most expensive dish off of their entire brunch menu is only $13. It is of the best value places I've found in the city. It is a very cozy space (small, but tastefully organized), with tons of natural light, and an awesome jazzy backdrop. They are a waitlist only restaurant, so no reservations - which means you either have to be early or a little bit lucky since there is not a lot of seating. That said, they do a great job of accommodating and I haven't run into an issue yet. My biases: I'm a mid-20s male from NYC with a mean sweet tooth, a desire for large amounts of food, and an appreciation for high-quality food experiences - but only at a value. Food taste is always the priority. read more
Came here as a back up brunch location. It is extremely tiny and they are strict with the entire party present before seating. I ordered the biscuit and gravy and my friends had the pork and biscuit and sausage and biscuit. This is the first restaurant in the city to make biscuits like the south does. Every bite was an orgasm. I can't recall when was the last time I fell in love with a breakfast dish in the city. We all loved our dishes and the service. The biscuit was fluffly and not dry, the gravy was perfectly flavored and creamy and the meat was not dry. read more

I wanted so bad for my brunch experience to be good, and was sadly disappointed. My partner and friends were a little happy with their biscuits (it all depends on what you order but only thing I saw worth it was the biscuits and gravy), and the huevos rancheros were a total fail. As soon as I read "pico de gallo" in the description, I lost hope of tasting a Mexican dish of course (should be salsa ranchera) but I was beyond surprised with what I got: stale tortillas (I literally could only eat 2 and cut out the pieces without liquid), diced tomato (not pico de gallo at all), and a weird attempt to a quesadilla (in between the tortillas was a little melted cheese with beans). The beans were really good though. It lacked seasoning so I asked the server for some salt and I was having the hardest time getting it out so I decided to open it - what a surprise when I saw they have probably never cleaned the dispenser and liquid had mixed with the rust and also the salt. The place itself was nice, but cannot go back. read more
