My daughter and I have been customers off and on for over 18 years. The only reason I have gone anywhere else is I wait too long to make appointments for things like basic trims. Well, last minute my daughter went to another salon and ended up with a horrid haircut. We needed to leave to drive to move to college and went in to see if we could get some help. Even with a full schedule at 0900, Donald and the salon fit us in. Donald personally fixed her cut and did it for free as he knew how important it was for her to feel great going to school. After over 25 years with the same stylist and shopping around to find a stylist who takes their time and really listens to what I would like, I finally found one in Christi. Having been a former stylist, I tend to be a little pickier. The services she provides is color/highlights and cut. She is very meticulous and her attention to detail is perfection. sunday the 12th..first picture is the one i asked her to do..the rest is how horrible it came out. my scalp is horribly in pain and been telling her and she seemed not to care...cristie or cristina did the toner ...twice because my roots came out horrible to tone it down..didnt work...and yet the color is still not even closed to what i wanted!!!! cristie washed my hair with felt like a hot boiling water which made my scream because my scalp pain went up the roof!! then someone else washed my hair and seemed like she dont know what shes doing because all the water were going to i side my ears and ahe had to get a towel and hold it myself. shampoo should be a relaxing experience but the whole visit has given me anxiety. more than 4 hours in pain and very unhappy and i'm pretty sure she could tell. she made me pay 150!!! she did highlights..but no darn highlights is seen...my hair looked like it has 3 different shades!! and then blaming it on the color i had from years ago..when she took her time looking and inspecting my hair ..twice! i should have not paid anything!!! im still in pain..my scalp is burning..the hot water made it worst. i feel like this will get worst overnight! she knows 100% that the color is so wrong...i should have not paid for nothing. now i have to wait for my scalp to heal and pay more to get my hair fixed!!! visit is sunday..monday night im in er!!! i just got dizzy and fell...they said something about my ear!! better not because of this because this never happened to me before!!! now i have to see an ent! read more

Okay so the place is really nice, they were nice and the lady did a good job. Prices are a little high, but I'm used to Texas prices. That being said they had me fill out a questionnaire and also took my temp when I came In. Had signs all over that it was mandatory to wear a mask. Everyone had a mask on. Until the lady sat next to me without one. Look I don't care that she has one on or not, but if you're going to make me jump through hoops and wear one then everyone should have too. I dont know her story or if maybe she has a medical condition. That's not my problem. It's either mandatory or it isn't. Donald was very quick to respond, answer my questions, and he even managed to get me worked me in with extremely short notice! This was probably my 5th visit to Positive Image, 3rd with Cecilia. I am always very happy with the cuts and styling I receive there. I have thin, very fine hair, the cuts she gives me make my hair look thicker than it is. I love this Salon, very welcoming environment and staff. It costs more than a Hair Cuttery, but well worth the price. I usually wash my hair before going to the salon. During Covid hairdressers at Positive Image and other salons asked that customers wash their hair before their appointment and then the hairdresser would use a squirt bottle to wet their hair. During the last 2-3 visits Sarah has wet my hair without giving a full shampoo. As with the rest of the staff, she is very friendly and upbeat. The chairs at the wash basin are so comfortable I felt like could just stay there and take a nap. She put a cushion on the seat and I believe that made a difference. Christy is wonderful! I had a not so great haircut elsewhere and after sitting with it for a few weeks decided I just needed it fixed. I called Positive Image for an appointment with whoever was available and was set up with Christy. I explained to her why I was unhappy with my prior haircut. I told her that I wanted more movement and style without removing length, and showed her some example haircuts. The cuts I showed her were all different, but she was able to get my meaning and gave me a seriously perfect haircut. I've gotten so many compliments since getting my cut with her a few weeks ago and I'm so grateful. I've been in the area for a while without a s consistent stylist but now I've found her. I wish my experience had been better, because I like the more personal experience of a salon, but I left feeling more like I was an inconvenience and that I had wasted the time of the individual that cut my hair. When I called to make my appointment, I mentioned that there were reviews stating that they didn't cut men's hair but was reassured that the reviews were inaccurate. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was greeted by a friendly individual at the front desk and waited to be seen. The only pleasant experience I had while there. When I sat down for my cut, I shared a few pictures of myself from a year or so ago because it showed the cut/style I wanted. I also offered the opportunity for him to give me any suggestions/recommendations that he might have based on what I was looking for and the current state of my hair, which was already short. He didn't but did inform that he typically only did 1-2 men's cuts a month and that any barber could easily give me the cut/style I was looking for but that he would work his way through it. This comment immediately made me feel uncomfortable and awkward. Had I not needed my hair cut, I probably would have just left. Overall, it just wasn't a pleasant experience. It was nothing like what is portrayed on their website or in the reviews. I did not feel valued or appreciated. I felt like I was wasting his time and that my haircut was a burden on his day. While at the end my cut/style was what I wanted, I won't be returning. I will continue my search for a place that, regardless of it being my first visit or 100th visit, makes me feel appreciated and that I can leave from feeling happy about my experience. read more

Made an appointment. Drove miles out of my way. Showed up early. Told that I could not get my hair cut because I'm a male. Tried to reach the manager and then the owner to gain an understanding of this policy. No answer from either. Let's forget or a moment that this discrimination policy makes no sense, and that it's inconsistent with what they advertise on their website. How about making your discrimination policy clear when you're making the reservation so we don't make the drive for nothing and so we don't to face the public embarrassment of being discriminated against. Well I have been going here for quite some time about 5 years to be exact. Fabiola has been the only time doing my hair and I have loved it most of the time the time before this she didn't like the fact that I told her I was not happy with my hair so I went to frizzles ( they are great but can be very pricey) So I decided I would give Fabiola one last chance and boy do I regret it. I usually pay no more then $220 with a tip to do my hair. Well my last visit here in October she decided to charge me $360 with tip I paid over $450 her excuse was that she had to bleach my hair 3times because she was NOT holding the bleach in my hair for more then 15 minuets ( usually she holds the bleach in my hair for 45 minuets and it works just fine) It was my nieces first birthday I was already running late and I didn't have time to deal with this at that time . So that night I decided to send her a text to see if there was a mistake she was not Pleasant at all when I brought it up to her attention. ( I will post the conversation) So I decided it to take it up to management after two weeks the manager was out of town then he couldn't get on the phone due to his was busy it was horrible customer service. They credit my card $50 and I was suppose hear back from the manager that didn't happen. I am a pretty loyal client I also believe in tipping well for services that I received. I just can't help but feel like I was robbed for hair color that I didn't even end up liking after spending over $450. 10/22/2017 Good evening Fabiola My husband is a little upset about the price that paid today I have never paid that much. I have been coloring my hair for over 18 years I have always gone to upscale salons I have never paid that much i just think that's something you should have gone over with me maybe instead of doing it 3 times I could have held the bleach in my hair for 45 minuets to 1 hr. I been coming to you for a long time now and I truly love your work and everything you do. But $360 when I told my friends and family what I paid today they told me I was crazy. They all said that's way to much and the most I should have paid was $250 and I usually pay less then that with you. I really hope there is something that you can do to rectify this. I have been going to Monika for 15+ years. I have always received an amazing haircut. ALWAYS. They say your hairdresser is like your therapist. And Monika is a goddess. I would be lost without her and her magical hair gifts. All ya'll complaining because you went somewhere else they screwed your hair up and then you drag your over-processed damaged heads back here and get upset that they can't fix your cheap a$$ed mess. Are they cheap? Nope. I pay almost $100 for a haircut. And it's worth it. Every last penny. I always walk out of the salon feeling like a new shiny person. Even when a medical condition made a ton of my hair fall out, Monika still made my hair look great. A good haircut is an art, that looks as great once you get home and style it yourself. That still looks great as it grows out, and somehow manages to look good even when it's way overgrown. That is the haircut I consistently get from Monika. I said you already cut enough off my hair. You cut way too much. I told her less than an inch, I told her we are done. said she wanted to fix it. I said no we are completely done I'm done the color looks great so I paid her what she asked, she did not give me no discount of what she screwed up by my head so I paid her, but I did not give her a tip. She ruined my hair. much off. It's a mess now I have to go get it cut somewhere else and no I'm afraid to do that because it's short. I might have to wait now. NAM IS THE BEST HAIRSTYLIST EVER!! Nam has been doing my hair for over a year and a half and is AMAZING! His balayage are the BEST and there is never a dull moment in his chair. I recently moved to Seattle and hadn't had my hair done since October. So when he was in town, I had to jump on it!! He re-did my balayage and gave me the perfect red violet color that I asked for! I have very dark and thick hair and I wanted to make it lighter but based on my past experiences at other hair salons, I was worried that my hair wouldn't come out good. I LOVE Selvia!!! I went to another salon to get a body wave. I ended up with dry damaged rat nest, clown hair. I suffered for a month with said hair. I heard AMAZING things about this place. So I gave it a shot. I arrived completely panicked and full of anxiety cuz I didn't want the clown hair to look worse, if that was even possible. Selvia put me at ease and explained why the clown hair and how she can fix it. Unfortunately she had to cut 3 inches of damaged hair (the damage the other salon did) off. After she was done... I LOVE MY HAIR!!! It turned out the way I wanted it to turn out in the first place. She is mine and my family's new go to. read more

Everything feels so fresh and new, brimming with possibilities and excitement, just like when you've found a new squeeze. Start with the sensual scalp massage, aka shampoo. I felt like I got my money's worth for the whole haircut before I left the sink. Well they do educate you on hair and it's very clean and pristine inside, The atmosphere and the front service as well as the professionalism from the staff is amazing. Having that said, they do not know anything about shorthair and the one person that has attempted to cut my hair with a razor was afraid to use it to go as low as I want it. Being recommended to the shop because it was close to home and they had a person that loves short hair and where is that herself I figured the stylist would understand me. Needless to say I went there twice for a redo and each time I was told that what I wanted was not something she wanted to do. I don't believe any stylist should ever say that to anybody or try to convince me that what I want is not doable because I wanna short hair and I don't care if my hair is beautiful or long it is mine at the end of the day and personal opinions should not be part of the process unless they are wanted. Short haired nowadays is very popular and when I went here about a year ago now I swore that I would never go back to someone who did not respect my opinion about my hair or my desires. I understand as a client manager myself that sometimes customers don't know best but if their way there right to any consequences they may adopt because of their choices then you have to do your best and not try to convince them otherwise because their choice dental today is their choice and that's all there is to it when you serve someone else. to agree to do a deal over is not fun because it gives you the impression that you want to help but you can't do anything with the same attitude twice. read more

I've been going to this salon for more than 20+ years. I was even a customer when they were located in another location. This place aims to please, if you are not satisfied with say, the way your color turned out (after you've left the premises) they are glad to correct it (and generally at no charge). Positive Image is a class act. I believe that it is reasonably priced, especially if you look at other salons (of the same caliber) in the area. I'm not looking to go to some chain salon, where the stylist is fresh out of school; my appearance is too important to me. So expect professional care and pay for it. read more

I'm a relatively new client but love this salon! The staff are always professional and friendly. I get color and cuts with Paige and she always listens carefully to what I want done and really takes her time making it perfect. I've started taking my daughters to Paige as well and they love her! She did a Brazilian Blowout for my 13 year old daughter who has really thick hair and it's made a huge difference getting ready for school in the morning. I am from out of town, but live here 2 to 3 weeks at a time. I went to Positive Image yesterday because I needed a highlight and couldn't wait 2 more weeks until I got back home. I look up their website and see that a partial highlight starts at 70.00, and they had a great website so I assume they are good at what they do. I have long hair so I was expecting to be charged more. Usually it's 10 to 20.00 more for long hair. Lily, I think was her name, highlights my hair and sends me to be shampooed. After the shampoo, I sit and wait....and wait. The stylist had another client. I was new there so I didn't know what to do. After waiting 30 minutes or more she finally asks me if I was done being rinsed. Then she takes me back to her chair for a blow dry. She blow dries and round brushes my hair and I'm done. I go to check out and she tells the front desk 130. Keep in mind ALL I had done was a patrial highligh...no cut. I ask what the additional 60.00 was and they tell me "for the cut". But I didn't have a cut. So the lady talks to Lily and comes back and tells me it's for the blow dry. I said, "it cost 60.00 for a blow dry? Do most people come in here and get a highlight and leave with wet hair?" So she tells me the pricing is a la carte. I can understand that, except how do you check the color without blow drying it? Then the front desk girl tells me low lights and flat ironing cost more too. But I didn't get low lights and I actually asked her not to flat iron other than the cowlick in the front that was sticking up. So they ended up charging me 100 instead of the 130 since I literally had no other services at all. I'm making this a 2 star instead of a 1 bc I actually do really like my hair. It's just really sad that they tried to charge me for so many services that I didn't have. I would have had no problem at all paying the 130 if I had actually had all of the things done that they tried to charge me for. The even more sad thing is that I doubt I'll go back because of the attempted rip off. I would have loved to have found a stylist here I could continue to come to when I'm in town...but I don't want to have to haggle with dishonest people like this. So buyer beware. Make sure you actually receive the services they try to charge you for. read more

I feel like I've been giving out too many 4 star reviews of late, but this really teeters on a 3.5-4 rating, so I guess I'll just roll with it. My mother turned me on to Positive Image because she has been going there for the last year or so, updating her style with the help of Shawna. What I love about Shawna's work is color, she is a wizard! My mother started coloring her hair when she began with Shawna and every time it looks 100% natural, and really just spot on in terms of tonality and richness. If you dye, call Shawna, you will not be disappointed. I went for the first time in October before an out of town baby shower, and was in a state of general distress because of a new allergy to just about everything that touches my skin that I'd discovered. I had to bring my own shampoo to Positive Image, and no one batted an eye, that's how professional they are. Shawna gave me a great cut with some levels not layers and really heard me when I said that my hair poofs up like an angry cat when cut this way or that. She didn't even use hair gels or sprays on me because of the allergy issue, AND when I said I would love to come in and get some color done she actually told me to hold off until my skin was happy again. My stylist is Nam. I used to go to him at the W Salon, but he moved to Positive Image, so I followed him. He makes me look like a Victoria Secrets model. Today I asked him to make my hair look like Jennifer Aniston and I love the results. The salon is great. Very friendly staff, beautiful inside, great convenient location. Nam is very accommodating and has squeezed me in when I really needed a color before my sister's wedding. He is on time for appointments and has never made me wait.
