I just moved to the area and needed my grey roots dyed and a trim. After my shampoo, the stylist only towel dried my hair and then roughly blow dried it. I say rough because she was running her hand through my hair and shaking it out for a few minutes, leaving it still damp - my hair is thick, curly and prone to frizz so you can imagine how that went! Their website says the haircut includes "styling" and this is the first time I've ever left a salon with wet hair that I immediately wanted to put up in a bun when I got home. As a new customer, it seems like they could've at least mentioned when I was setting up the appointment that I needed to ask for a blow dry. I'm happy with the color she chose for my roots, but leaving the salon with unfinished hair left me not wanting to come back. read more

They said they couldn't take me on as a client due to the color correction service? I didn't ask for a color correction. I asked for a cut and a color. Even then, if they couldn't do the color they could've addressed the hair cut. That part of my request was not addressed at all. Recommend if you have time go in person rather than email? I was so nervous to go back into a salon after almost 2 years, but was so reassured in my communication with the salon before booking that everyone on their staff is fully vaccinated and masks are still worn by staff & clients. There were air filters and good space between us all. As for the cut and blow dry - I am so very pleased. My stylist cut the length of my curls dry (best practice) so that I could confirm the length when curly, then washed and did the long layers. He was super precise and efficient- I really love the final result and there's more bounce and health in my hair. My hair is NOT easy to blow dry, but he wrangled and smoothed expertly. I left feeling like a million bucks in under an hour. So very happy with my service here and look forward to going back for color. read more

I wanted to get my hair cut shorter and my usual salon didn't have availability so I decided to try this salon. it had fairly high ratings and that usually doesn't steer me wrong. Well when I arrived I showed the stylist what I was looking for and she said she understood. She took my hair and chopped it close to the length I was looking for without washing and hardly brushing. From there I knew it was going to go south. The stylist hardly talked to me and was honestly in her own little world. Being someone who is a little more introverted I really didn't know how to check in to make sure this was what I wanted. The haircut ended up two inches shorter than I wanted and the curtain bangs weren't even feathered out so it's very cut and dry. She didn't even put any layers in which is a MUST for my hair unless it gets hot. Honestly if she just talked to me I think we would have gotten so much closer to what I wanted instead of me wanting to run home immediately. I gave her a tip which I honestly shouldn't have but I was too nice. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Great Salon. Very professional. Did a haircut other places failed to do for me. I am very picky when it comes to my hair because my hair is something that has always been one of my best assets. I do not let anyone near my hair and had to research and cancel several places after realizing they could not give me the haircut I wanted. I went here a month or two ago back on Feb 22, 2023 to be exact. It was a Wednesday and the salon was not busy. I was scheduled with Kim. Prior to scheduling, I asked if they could provide me with a dry haircut. Other salons, such as one I reviewed before....other salons did not do as I asked. I am paying money to get a haircut I want. When I ask for a dry cut I want a dry cut. Frankly, I do not care if you are a stylist with years of experience and think I need a wet haircut. This is MY hair, I will have it cut how I ask you to with whatever price you ask for. No salon in the DC area has provided me with one, even when they verbally told me they could. I would go inside only to sit in the chair and be told they need to wet my hair. Always felt tricked, deceived and like they didn't value me as a person with my own decisions. But Kim was fantastic. Thank you very much to Kim if she is reading this. I love my haircut which I rarely do after getting haircuts. So thanks for listening to me, and giving me the haircut I wanted and asked for, and not the haircut you think I need. For anyone considering this place, Kim cut my hair dry, asked if I wanted a wash and blowdry, proceeded with giving me a blow dry and I left very satisfied. The ultimate test was to see if the look lasted after weeks and weeks. And it has. I am attaching two photos, one of the day of the cut in a red shirt and another of me currently. Again, I am always unhappy with haircuts. I was and still am satisfied with the haircut here. You won't be disappointed if you go here because regardless what style or cut you want, they do listen to you, atleast Hairstylist Kim does from my actual appointment. Scheduled an appointment for a hair cut, Mila was great! Had long hair, past my bra line and was looking to chop off a good part from working out and just going too long without a trim. I needed to be able to still keep it up in a pony tail, she was great with going slow, and continually showing me what the length looked like until it was done right. Pros: kind people, thorough, hospitable to both my son and self, listened to what I wanted, chose the right color that would be good with my face and skin. Netflix and candy available for my kid waiting. Cons: slow, pricey, no communication of price estimate (partly my fault cuz I didn't ask). Actions: Used 20% discount, tipped what I could, and bought color safe products; purchased all over color, very partial highlights (two pieces, literally), trim, and loose curls for wavy pseudo-beach hair. Total: $290 (including shampoo and conditioner); they threw in a free conditioning spray. Results: Excellent hair chemistry; cleaned up well, knew how to work my hair. Followed through on requests. Stylist Personalities: humble, quiet, kind, respectful. Hope this helps people. I seem to ask for a lot with my hair and I think that's why I end up with a large price tag. I come from a small town so what I usually ask for is under $100 w/o tip. This is three times now that I broke 200 and I'm not even in major cities. Is a color and highlight this price now?
