The way you cut the front to frame my face is especially beautiful, it has so much volume and falls perfectly without looking over styled. It's polished, flattering, and still feels effortless. I've been testing out new salons since moving here with the hope of finding one I really like that…read morealso doesn't break the bank, and had high hopes for this one based on the reviews. I only ever do simple cuts, nothing fancy. My haircut, done by Anderson (a level 3 stylist), is objectively good. The skill was there. But it's definitely shorter than I wanted it. Went in for a lob, came out with an asymmetrical bob...Honestly I was panicking while he was drying it because it was starting to look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. I asked if he could style it like in the reference pictures I showed (simple waves, to reduce Farquaad-ness). He tried to do it with the brush/dryer, which obviously wasn't working, and didn't want to use a flatiron. So I just suffered through scalding heat on my scalp and hair pulling. I got told I don't have curly hair. I got told I don't have frizzy hair. I, in fact, have both of those. Some other minor things: 1. When I got home I had some hair that was noticeably longer than the rest, like it never got cut. So...I had to do it. Just a few strands, but normally stylists check for that when your hair is dry. 2. I almost never use heat on my hair, so I asked for recs and mentioned a specific brand doesn't work for me. He immediately said he loves that brand. I said yeah...but it doesn't work for me. Anything else? "Any salon brand." Cool. Not helpful. 3. Asked for something at the end to tame the pieces that were sticking out (again, I have frizzy hair). He looked...confused? Smoothing as a last step has been standard at every other place I've been to. There is nothing in the whole salon like that? Also, my introvert-self just wants to go somewhere where I don't have to be engaged in conversation the whole time. Anyway. Won't go back, my hunt continues.

The place is no frills and it's not fancy but my guy knew was he was doing. I showed him some inspiration photos and he got to work. The whole experience was about an hour from start to finish and I love my new cut. I didn't see any prices and didn't even ask! LOL. Imagine how surprised I was when they told me my cut was only $53! I thought this was a language barrier situation and that he understood I meant short, straight bangs like the photo. Instead, I walked out with long curtain bangs, nothing like what I asked for. He did check in with me throughout the process, but it was confusing. I explicitly said I wanted my bangs shorter, yet he continued cutting them longer than what I had shown or said. I'm not sure where the communication broke down, but the end result was the opposite of what I asked for. He also asked if I wanted to thin my hair. I didn't know exactly what that meant, but he said it would look better. I hesitated, but when he suggested "just a little," I agreed. Unfortunately, he thinned out so much that now I have tons of short, frizzy pieces sticking out everywhere. Again, nothing like the photo I showed. It will take years to grow my hair out to fix this. On top of that, he didn't check my face before sending me out the door. I left the salon with tiny shredded hairs stuck all over my face, like I had just walked through a hair storm. I told him explicitly what I wanted, but the haircut I received was completely different. I went in for regular bangs and long layers and left with super long curtain bangs and thinned-out hair.
