Friend took me to her fav hair spot and it was great price and loved the way my hair came out!

Received a haircut from Bea (full name is Beatrice) as a walk-in and had a great experience. She has 20+ years of experience in cutting hair. She patiently browsed all my Pinterest hairstyle photos I brought with me on my phone, listened to my wishlist and then proceeded to cut my hair with care. This place is a neighborhood gem. I should've walked out the moment I came in. The salon's floor was covered with leftover hair from earlier clients. Not a pretty or clean sight. I asked for a simple, yet textured trim. The lady spent less than 15 minutes on my hair. Sorry, but speed doesn't equal quality. When she was finished, my hair looked okay. Just okay. As I was driving home, I noticed that she did the worst job removing/cleaning up leftover hair. I was shedding all over the place, so I had to vacuum my car and bathroom. Horrible. Once the hair dried, it turned out to be a mess. I was very unhappy and almost wanted to cry. So much for that... I wish I wasn't so impulsive. I could've went to Salon Mint the next day. read more

I went to CR for Hair on Saturday morning after an impulsive decision to dye my own hair the night before. Needless to say, it looked crazy weird orange and I needed a Pro to fix it! I was greeted by Sung, she was buzzing around the salon but she caught my eye when I came and and came over to me. I told her the situation and she said she could do the job, and we scheduled an appointment for 4pm that afternoon! (woohoo for squeezing me in same day!) When I came back at 4pm, I had a few pictures from InStyle magazine that showed the blonde hair I dreamed of...now mind you I am a natural brunette--sitting there with bright orange hair. Well, Sung did magic. She patiently placed tons and tons of awesome highlights, followed by toner, followed by an incredible hair cut and I left with the most fabulous blonde hair:) I am SO happy and will go back again!! read more

NOT FOR KIDS WHO DON'T WANT A HAIR CUT. My almost 3 year old was distraught about not wanting a hair cut... Crying, arching his back, having an all around bad time. We were the only ones there so I decided to wait it out. The lady hairstylist told my son in no uncertain terms that "if you don't stop crying that dog over there will bite you and your mom will leave you here and never come back" We obviously left, worst experience ever read more

This review is only for threading. My girlfriend and I showed up on a saturday afternoon. Bea, the threader my girlfriend recommended, was friendly and welcoming and took us right away with no appointment. She did an excellent job on my friend's brows. I had my brows, chin and lip threaded. She's a bit slower than some of the other threaders I've been to, but she was gentle and did a thorough job. I have super sensitive skin, so threading usually results in some kind of breakout, but Bea was super clean. no breakout. a miracle. It ended up costing me $27 which I felt was reasonable for the DMV. I'll go back next time I'm in Springfield. read more

I've been going to this salon for years. It was a surprise find for me. Bea was the one who first serviced me and I was really happy with the cut she gave me. She has colored my hair and done highlights on more than 2 occasions and I was very satisfied with every result. She always gets the color I want right. If she doesn't think it won't look good on you, she'll tell you so and give you other less damaging options. Very inexpensive IMO. read more

The ladies who cut hair are very nice and friendly. The place is conveniently located in Springfield. The parking was easy.

I'm giving this place one single star because the lady that did my nails did a good job. However, this same woman proceeded to do my eyelash extensions, and it was a DISASTER. You know how you usually get to lay back, relax and almost nap while you get your eyelash extensions done? Nope. None of that. She had me scoot down in a regular salon chair- which was very uncomfortable putting my neck where your low back should go. When I complained I was uncomfortable, the best she could do was offer me a chair to put my feet up on. Then, and I felt this one, but didn't know what was going on at the time, my bottom lashes got stuck to my top lashes, and rather than use a gentle method to free the bottom lashes, I kid you not, she took scissors and cut them. So now. My lashes. My beautiful lower lashes have gashes and clumps of lashes missing. As if she was trying to trim them sporadically. Those were my thing. Ya know- eye makeup is my domain, so I didn't notice till the next day when putting on bottom lash mascara. Ouch. I have asked for my money back for the lash service only, and the lady has refused. I'm never ever going here again, and you shouldn't either. read more

Ignore the negative reviewers on here.. They couldn't be more wrong! I am VERY picky about my salon and stylist. I've only gone to the same guy for about 16 years now. I wanted to save some time and try a new place closer to home. My coworker recommended this salon and John to me. I couldn't be happier! The salon and john were a delight! He did exactly what I wanted, talked to me, explained what he was doing and even recommendations for my hair (even if he wasn't the one to do them!) I will definitely be going back! read more

CR for Hair was an unexpected find for me! I have had my hair colored and highlighted as well as my nails done by Sung for 2 years now. She is amazing. I was forced to find a new stylist when she moved and left my Fairfax Station salon (where I was paying 25-30% more) This CR is close to my job and very accessible. Lovely atmosphere, not fancy, but nice. It's all about who's doing your hair and the products they use. Both are terrific! read more

I love going to CR for Hair! Sung and the rest of the ladies at this salon are always happy, smiling and laughing! Their wonderful attitude is only surpassed by their excellent service! I get my hair colored and cut here regularly. I also bring my family and friends who are in town visiting to have a fun girl's day at the salon; we either just get our hair done or sometimes spend the day and also get manicures and pedicures, and also sometime threading done! I'm also a bit of a slacker when it comes to making appointments but they always manage to fit me in at the last minute! I couldn't be happier with the service I consistently get at CR for Hair! I'm very picky with hair and never really found 'the salon' but that changed today. I entered this salon not knowing anything about hair color, and coincidently I had an urge to color my hair today. As i entered the store the associate was very helpful with explaining each type of different colors and highlight treatments they do. Mabel did an excellent job with explaining and coloring my hair and she shaped my eyebrows quite well. (I have a round head and its always hard to find a perfect shape but she magically found a way). This review is for threading only. I've been going to CR for hair for over six years. This is the only place I will go to for threading, and I only let Bea or Sung touch my eyebrows. They are the experts, and I am really picky. Both Sung and Bea do a great job and are speedy, but precise. They shape my brows into the natural shape that I like, and they always look amazing! read more

Wonderful place to go. John has been my hairstylist for almost 10 years now. I followed him from another location to CR for Hair. I have dyed my own hair and attempted hi-lights before and though I'm not half bad, nothing compares to the way my hair looks after John's hands touch it. It's amazing. So I gave up on trying to do my hair and just let John do his magic. He's an awesome colorist and stylists for all types of hair. YES, I mean all types. I've lived in the area all my life and this is hands down the best place to get a haircut. Stylish cuts with great customer service. I'm always greeted with a friendly "hello!" when I walk in. WONDERFUL place. I have been coming here forever to get my eyebrows threaded and my hair cut. Would recommend to anyone. Bea is great!

I needed a quick eyebrow cleanup and was passing through Springfield, so I thought I'd try out CR for Hair. They advertise that they do threading - do not take them up on this. I left with 1/3 of my eyebrows missing. Not just this, but the right brow is much thinner than the left and is uneven. A chunk is missing. Just horrible. Not only this, but when I told the stylist that my eyebrows were too thin and uneven and that I was unhappy (I NEVER complain about service. I cannot remember the last time I did, or if I ever have), she said that my eyebrows were different sizes when I came in. She tried to gaslight the whole thing away! I've been going to Dupont Threading in Arlington for a long time and have always loved them - they're known for doing a great job and have a cult-like following. I am sure that my eyebrows were not a lop-sided mess when I arrived. And I will not deviate in the future. This will take quite some time to recover and I'm so sad. read more
