Very nice small hotel. We had a King room with the jetted tub. The room was clean and comfortable. We really liked the kitchen area and having a nice table for breakfast. We had a very nice stay. I included a picture of the view from our back balcony. Too bad their neighbors are junky.

View from my balcony. Mostly of "working harbor" as the front desk calls it. You can't see bay, and see very little ocean.

Room was booked on line. Coming for a special occasion. Hoping to relax on the balcony with a "bay view" which was expressed while reserving. Was not aware that the view was of the "working harbor," which the front desk claims they mention during a phone reservation. The room is gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but the view (which is what I come for) is highly disappointing. Tried to get some compensation, discount, etc., but all they allowed was for us to cancel our second night. No loss to them because the room will be booked by someone else.

We stay here every year and every year they amaze us! This is a beautiful little fishing and logging community and these rooms let you enjoy the rustic and beautiful scenery in luxury and comfort! These rooms feel like apartments, not like hotel rooms. The views of the harbor from the balcony are stunning and you have everything you need within a two to three mile distance from the hotel. I HIGHLY recommend this place, I would give them 10 stars if I could, and to top it off there are large spa tubs in the rooms!!!

We accidentally found this place and it is a true treasure!! EXCELLENT price for an amazing suite. The room we were in was perfect. (Rm# 101) For one night, of a long journey, we felt like we were at home. We went to the local Thai food place brought our food back to our room and enjoyed. The bedroom had an amazing bed that allowed for a great nights sleep! There was a make-up area in the bedroom with a sink. In the bathroom (which was its own room) the tub was big and we did not have a jacuzzi room. I have to say that the towels were thick and fluffy and smelled AMAZING!! There was even a phone in the bathroom!! The "living area" was comfy and the furnishings were stylish. Great taste and definitely not typical hotel furnishings. This room was impeccably clean! The view was of the "working" port area and didn't bother us. We knew this when we checked in. $100 more a night, for a view down the road a bit, was not worth the comfort of this room. We will stay here again and we wish there were more places like this out there amongst all the commercial "cookie cutter" hotels.

We have decided that Portside will be our home away from home when in the area. We could not get over the restful, tranquil peacefulness of our stay. This was our third hotel in three nights. The youthful shenannagins of thundering elephants above our room from the night before added to our appreciation for quiet respite at Portside. So pleased were we I made myself a refreshing high ball and sat on the lovely little balcony admiring the sea faring equipment before me. Since this was a work trip, we also appreciated the on site laundry room. I can only hope our next stay will be more than just one night.

Fair enough for one night only. Beds were clean, but room didn't have everything the site says. Walls needed to be wiped down better.

Great place to stay right on Port of Brookings. Restaurants in walking distance. Views of boats right off the deck.

Excellent stay! Lots of nice touches. View of harbor not as nice as an ocean view but the comfortable room makes up for the view.

We couldn't have asked for better hosts! Due to Covid we couldn't gather for breakfast but they were happy to leave fresh coffee, scones (sooooooo good!), and prepared eggs from their chickens. Seriously those scones were to die for! We had a wonderful time getting away to Mermaid's Muse and we can't wait to visit again!

Each day while we were away the room was freshened up. Coffee, instant ceral were provided in the room as well as cream for the coffee. Dishes and glassware were available to use. The room was well supplied with the things we needed. The steps and railings could use a bit of updating for safety and the stairs leading towards the beach area were in much need of repair, to the point that it was not a good idea to venture too far down that path as the lower steps dropped down further than the rest. The handrail at the very bottom was frail and really should not be allowed public access without being made much sturdier. When parking, it required you to back all the way out to the roadway. No viable place to turn around once you drove all the way in. Would we stay here again? Yes we would. I felt it was a good value for the price paid. You could literally hear and see the ocean right from the front room. It is a place that provides a lot of peace and quiet. Probably not the best for a young and noisy partying crowd. There was dirt inside the door, no peephole cover, no deadbolt, and did not shut all of the way. The AC unit plug is frayed and looks concerning. There was rust colored splotched all along the bottom of the wall, the window was paper thin. Some interesting stains on the throw pillows, stick substance on the table and the floor was sticky. The mattress and pillow were surprisingly very comfortable, but overall, I felt very unsafe during my stay.
