**Great location, disappointing stay** I've stayed at the Beachfront Inn before, and its location is hard to beat. It sits right on the beach, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves is wonderful. Unfortunately, that was about the only thing I enjoyed this time. I decided to splurge on a suite, but I regretted it. For one of the more expensive rooms, it was in surprisingly poor condition: dinged furniture, rusty air vents, a gouged floor, ripped carpet, stained curtains, and sliding glass doors that were so cloudy I had to open them to enjoy the view. The bathroom appeared to have been recently updated, but I found long strands of hair in it. The service was disappointing, too. At check-in, I was told matter-of-factly, "We don't clean rooms during your stay!" I was there for the better part of a week. If I wanted cleaning, I had to request it a day ahead; otherwise, I could go to the front desk for supplies. Having worked in hotels, I understand that housekeeping costs money. Still, after booking a suite, I didn't expect to have to go downstairs for fresh towels or toilet paper. One afternoon, a nap was interrupted by loud talking outside my room. When it continued, I looked out and found a housekeeper talking on speakerphone. Checkout summed up the stay. The only thing I was asked was whether I wanted a copy of my receipt. There was no question about my stay and not even a thank-you. I'd enjoyed this hotel before, which made this visit especially disappointing. read more

We loved most everything about this hotel. Location, price, cleanliness. The ONLY downfall is there is no air conditioning. Normally that would be fine as you could just open your balcony door and enjoy the breeze. But there is SO much weed being smoked around you that your room is going to be permeated. The hotel needs to put detectors in and control their clientele. read more

Literally the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The first room I was given smelled like fog pee and wet dog. There was a pube in the bathtub, mystery colors that were sprayed on the wall in what looked like a rainbow sneeze?, gunk on the chair, floors were dirty. Second room they moved me into also was gross. Dirty floors, the sheets were very obviously dirty on both beds. One had women's hairs in the sheets, the other bed had what appeared to be brown stains of unknown variety. For some reason sand sprays out of the bathroom faucets when turned on. Ants all over. The bathtub had them, and the bed with the ladies hair I had to sleep in due to exhaustion and not having enough energy to move to yet another dirty room or relocate for the night. The alarm clock is caked in what appears to be tears of gunk. The shower has black mold clearly visible behind the soap rack on the wall. Just read a review from 11 days ago that claims bed bugs and fleas were found and am absolutely freaked out, but it's 11pm and I've been driving all day, so preying to god I survive this craphole for one disgusting night. Keeping everything off the ground and going to garbage bag anything I've worn in here. The staff were pretty nice about moving me from the smelly room and into the dirty sheet room, for whatever that's worth. For $300 a night, you'd think they could bother to hire a housekeeper (I assume they don't have any from what I've seen). If on the off chance you consider staying here, whatever you do, id reconsider. It's filthy, the whole place is falling apart. The luggage rack is dirty and covered in rust, very tetanus shot-worthy if you happen to touch the rusted 3/4 of the cart. Floors are the grossest, oldest, outdoor looking carpet I've ever seen in a hotel. Whoever owns this dump should be ashamed of themselves for letting people stay in these disgusting conditions. If my car wasn't so full, I'd leave immediately and go sleep in that. Oh also, the new room has a mystery noise that hums loudly on and off all night. read more

No A/C. The room was 86 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours in the afternoon. Management offered an old rusty box fan which had to be placed in front of the open slider. The slider had to remain open all night to keep the room cool. As one can imagine, that was a huge safety issue. The bathroom sink was plugged and maintenance unplugged it with a filthy tool then didn't wipe down the sink to disinfect it nor anything else he touched and splashed dirty water on. Trolls in the parking lot hanging around waiting to burglarize vehicles. I paid $402 for a dump. Stay far away. read more

Great quality for your money. The rooms are updated and are all facing the ocean. The beds were comfortable and clean not to mention you can see the gorgeous view whilst lying in bed. The bathroom was nicely updated though there was a problem with both the shower and the sink draining properly. There was a small kitchenette with a fridge, sink, coffee machine, and microwave which made it easy to have some meals in the room. A pool and spa are also available at the hotel though we did not try it, it appears clean and is centrally located between the two main buildings. The ocean is about a 300 ft walk from the hotel which is private access for hotel quests only. The hotel is also within walking distance to some local eateries and the pier. Side note: If you book directly through the hotel it is about $60-80 cheaper than if you were to go through booking.com. They are offering a spring promotion if you book two or more nights through them they add a discount. read more

Loved this inn! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about local restaurants and attractions. The view from our second floor room was absolutely breath taking. Walking to the beach was so wonderful that we went every morning after breafast. Since we went at the end of March the waves crashed loud enough to hear from our room all night. Being pet friendly was a must for us and our dog had just as much fun as we did! The restaurant and gift shop just across the road was an amazing find for good food, amazing homemade fudge and delightfully sweet gifts for family and friends. We will definitely be going back to this inn whenever we travel to the coast. read more

Being frequent travelers to Brookings (3-4 times a year) we can say that Beachfront Inn offers some of the finest views in Brookings, and its walkability to the marina and amenities is perfect. In fact, everything you need is within walking distance and I have found that we rarely need to leave the harbor. Check in is always easy, with the staff being consistently pleasant and I am always amazed at how reasonable the rates are given the quality of the rooms and the magnificent views. However it should be noted that the grounds suffer from differed maintenance and neglect, which is challenging in a coastal environment, however it's still important. And the elevators have been inoperable for at least 2 years. This is not a problem for us, but for others who are not physically capable, it will present challenges in getting your luggage up 3 flights of stairs. read more

my mom and i stayed in the oceanfront family room. upon arrival, we were able to check in two hours early. they have elevators, but it does not require a room key to use (may pose as a safety issue, especially for those traveling alone or with children). our room was right next to the elevator. when we walked into the room, we smelled a strange stench, similar to a wet dog. if you are still considering this hotel and not bringing a dog, we recommend picking a non pet friendly room. they do not deodorize the room well enough. we opened the sliding door for hours, but it didn't get rid of it. the door looked like it been broken into at some point, because the door frame had noticeable damage. the tvs are synced up, which my mom and i laughed off at first, but it quickly became a bigger issue. there are two remotes, however if you use the power button on either of them, you turn on both tvs at the same time. the sound is delayed if you have it on the same channel. if you turn the power off, one turns off and the other turns on. we had to manually unplug one of the tvs for it to work properly. thankfully, we only booked for one night. a few other observations: carpet looks tired, bathroom sink does not dispense hot water, and there was a homeless person camping overnight on the beach. read more

I stayed here about a month ago in February it sure has a beautiful view, the front desk lady was very kind and helpful & we were thankful for the free breakfast but similar to all the other bad reviews, cleanliness was sub-par. We stayed in the older building and felt that maybe the bed & frames had not been updated in potentially years. Typically, hotels have their beds and frames attached to the wall at the head of the bed which is why we think this. We're worried that there are bedbugs & that we brought them home. 3/4 people who stayed in the room still to this day-from the time of the visit-have mosquito-bite-looking welts on our whole body. We have NEVER experienced this after any visits anywhere else or just being at home, so this is out only culprit. Might not be the case and we hope it's not because this Inn has so much to offer. Let me be the first to say that I normally don't review anything other than restaurant. I travel so much for work and seeing so many hotels and usually it's just a place to rest my head. Take a shower and get ready for work. So this review is kind of a first for me. When you're driving up the 101 you do see a few billboard signs for beachfront inn. I grew up on the Pacific Northwest coast and I've always loved the beach. I was excited that this Inn is right on the beach, and every room has a view of the ocean. we pulled into town about 10 o'clock in the morning. Check-in isn't until three but I decided to try my luck and see if I could get into my hotel room. It must've been my lucky day because they had a room ready for me. I went upstairs and dropped off my luggage. Only downside is that they did not have a working elevator at the time. But it was OK since I was only on the second floor I think I can handle the work out. opened up my door to a spectacular stunning view of the Pacific Ocean. First thing I did was that my luggage down and went out to the balcony to enjoy my view. I didn't get much time to enjoy my room as I had to go to work. By the time I got back to my room after work, it was about 30 minutes to sunset. I decided to take off and walk out to their private entrance to the beach and get some pictures of the waves and the sunset. The next morning I woke up and I had to travel a few hours to get to the airport as I was flying home that day. When I fly home, I normally don't enjoy the fitness center but when I looked into it, it was a very lovely set up with nice gym equipment. Would definitely try the gym next time I'm there. I did grab a little breakfast before I headed out. Normally not a big one since I don't know where rest ups are and I didn't want to be stuck without going to the bathroom. I split my biscuit in half so I only had half of a biscuit with some sausage gravy and a cup of orange juice. They had eggs, bacon, sausage, and a variety of toast and muffins and bagels. They have a few juices some cereals and oatmeal. If I was staying another night, I probably would've enjoyed breakfast a little more but I hate to have a full stomach driving and then getting on a plane. If you were looking for a relaxing, cute little beach getaway bookings would be the place. They also had great fresh seafood right from the harbor. Just down the street about a 10 minute walk or a two minute drive. read more

It was one of the highest rated hotels in Brookings and it had the ocean view.    The ocean view itself was still awesome with a lot of driftwood.   Two queen size beds.  All the lights we need. Very nice room, newly remodeled, comfortable.  We have a veranda with a couple chairs for sipping your morning cup of Joe (or hot cocoa).  You can almost touch the ocean, and hear it roar.  Reminds me of Hawaii! Negatives: 1. The sun is on our right, and we have to walk to the beach to find the sunset. 2. Another negative: if you have heavy suitcases, still on the main floor, there's no elevator. 3. We had high hopes, based on some of the reviews and photos, but will never stay here again. This is why. I don't mind that the elevator is broken and looks like it has been for a while. A facility should get there things fixed, of course, along with chipping paint and loose fixtures, but I understand that this stuff happens and it's hard to keep up. WHAT I FIND UNACCEPTABLE is that there is no air conditioning. We were on the ground floor and could not leave our sliding door open for security reasons, especially after witnessing a few vagrants walking nearby when we pulled up. We cracked it the three inches allowable with the security bar, but a place that charges this much money for a room should provide the option for AC on those days - such as now - when it's just too hot for the fan. And the fact that they provide box fans suggests that they are aware of the problem. The summers here are getting hotter and, while this may have worked when this outdated facility was originally built, it does't work now. We were up much of the night, sweating, wondering when it would cool down. It never did. The owners can lie to themselves all they want, but they need to install air conditioning or begin to lose customers. read more

They neglected to mention at checkin that they don't make up the room unless you ask. The rooms are large and in a nice area and they were clean. Wow! What a meet place and experience! The rooms are " Right there" and the surf, LOUD! You almost feel like you are sleeping on the beach! Room was clean and well appointed and the kicker was how good the in-room coffee was. They have a great breakfast in the AM and the lady that took care of it was very friendly and professional and you could tell, really enjoyed being there and interacting with the guests. Thankfully got the upgraded room, may be due to having my furry friend around, as I got the wood laminate flooring. I see pictures of carpeting in some of the rooms, ick! They should just get rid of it. Get rid of Best Western sign, although I didn't see it and just call it Beachfront Inn. Management addressed my issues right away and I was compensated. No daily room service as it is still in the middle of pandemic. Check your room, however. Lots of seafood restaurants around. I recommend Catalyst Seafood, not the best service. Busy and Easter weekend maybe to blame. But food makes up for it. read more

The Location, the view but ESPECIALLY the employees! Top Notch. They went far beyond the normal check in check out as we had nearly 1/3 the motel booked. We added a day on the front end and extended on the back end which caused them to have to juggle a few rooms to make it work for us and all with a smile and cheerful attitude! This hotel could be a great place to stay. I mean it is still an ok place but the maintenance and cleaning needs some attention. Upon arrival the hotel staff was friendly and check in was a breeze. When we got to the room the bed was nice, you could tell the flooring was newer, and the coffee area was well stocked. The ocean views were spectacular! Now for the disappointment... for the prices they are charging I would expect a little more. We paid $533 for 2 nights. The elevator was not working and the stairs has rotted wood under the steps. The front of the hotel door paint was chipped, and there was rust dripping down the balcony. The window latch was broken and the drapes had food stuck to them where someone must have been eating spaghetti with their hands and closed the drapes. The bathroom smelled moldy and there was mold started on the ceiling. The shower curtain needed to be washed as it had blood on it (not much but noticeable) and I don't want to think what was at the base of the toilet. As seen in the picture I hope it's just dirt caught in old caulking and not feces. The coffee counter was stained and there was spider webs on the balcony. Windows were filthy. Like I said earlier, with a little maintenance and attention to detail this place could be a 5 star place. If you do book it, ask for the bigger balcony as the one we had was super tiny. Also, this hotel does not have any Air Conditioning, but they do provide a box fan with dirty dam blades. Although you probably wouldn't need AC that often being on the coast it can get a little hot in the rooms if you leave your drapes open in the afternoon. There are no windows towards the front of the room so you'll need to prop the front door open to get a breeze. The entire complex is non-smoking. I do not fault the staff for not being able to enforce this, but both nights some assholes were smoking cigarettes and weed on their first floor balcony causing the smoke to blow into our second floor room. I tried to catch them outside but they ran inside and refused to open the door when I attempted to ask them to stop. We did notify staff and they did try to address the issue with the occupants, however, the occupants denied doing anything wrong so nothing could be done. We ended up closing the slider which was not the greatest since we couldn't hear the ocean and the room got pretty stuffy. I did not ding the hotel for the smokers, but the rest of the stuff could be improved. read more

I truly don't even know what to say besides look no further and book here. It made our entire Oregon Coast trip. We made the mistake of staying in Florence thinking it would be better. Mid trip I found this hotel and we made the drive and it was worth every penny. They let us check in early and we walked in and we're just in awe. We were on the third floor and even with no working elevator it was still worth it. You are literally on the ocean, the rooms are very updated and modern. The kitchenette is perfect, beds are comfy, bathroom is nice. The breakfast was tasty for a hotel breakfast, the gym was nice, I mean I don't have any negative things to say about it. You're close to all the yummy restaurants. Our check in lady recommended this sushi place and it was absolutely delicious, we will definitely be returning here every time, worth the extra $ for sure. read more
