Before we even got to town we had great encounters with the friendly staff. They called shortly after I booked to let us know they had a 2 queen rather than a queen and pull out if we wanted it. They also called the day of check in to let us know what time the office was closing and just to let them know if we'd be getting in later so they could help us. Both conversations were very friendly. Check-in was the same. We hadn't expected much of the hotel or room, but it was exceedingly clean and much newer looking. It was very evident that a lot of care is put into this business. I would 100% stay here again. We've stayed in a gazillion hotels of all levels and this was one of the cleanest, coziest places we've been. It's not fancy, but it solidly meets all needs. read more

Disappointing place to stay, glad other enjoyed it so much but I'm here to warn others how it went. First they changed our room down from the second floor without letting us know or providing a reason. We paid over $210 per night which is super high for the area and what is provided. Smoke detector randomly blared in the middle of the night, bathroom sink was clogged, very noisy rooms. They're probably farming reviews I highly recommend trying something else in town to avoid the headache here. Don't end up a sucker like me thinking the place is nice. read more

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Great hotel! Room had a full kitchen so we were able to buy some groceries and cook breakfast. The port of Brookings and the beach are right across the street so beautiful ocean views are just some steps away by foot. Super convenient. Room was clean, comfortable and roomy. Our first time visiting beautiful Oregon and this won't be the last. When we come back soon, we're planning to stay at Ocean Suites again! read more

Wow do the people make the difference. All three of Katie, Susan, and Lash were friendly, helpful, and consistently available. We got proactive communication before arrival, nice directions to neighborhood destinations upon arrival, and then after departure, ..., I idiotically left a canvas bag hanging on the wall of the suite, and the staff went out of their way to contact me and quickly ship it home (since I had already driven 100 or more miles south). I had a few days of vacation left and the canvas bag, with all its contents carefully packed, arrived the very first day after I got home. read more

Things to know about this motel... 1. It's one of the cleanest motels I've ever stayed in. Seriously. Squeaky clean. Not a surface clean, but a deep clean feeling. This is important to me and deserves multiple stars! 2. Stacy, who will help you with your reservation & check in, is a real gem. She is very friendly and helpful. She even offered us free tickets to the holiday light show. I love meeting people who love where they live, and she is one of these people. 3. There is no elevator. But only 1 flight of stairs to second floor rooms. 4. Walls are thin. We went to bed in the main bed in the living room but ended up switching to the other bedroom because we could hear everything the people were doing on the other side of the wall. 5. Beds are firm and pillows super fluffy and brand new. 6. Room 206 has a full kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal. I wish I'd brought my own coffee as they do have a small coffee maker. Even a table & chairs and a super comfy recliner chair. 7. No ocean views, but it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. It's in a good location next to harbor. 8. If you are a light sleeper this may not be the best choice. If they had a box fan in the room it would have cancelled out all of the small noises which would have led to a better nights sleep. The heaters are loud white noise but would have gone on and off all night so we turned them off. They work great tho. read more

Stayed here a week, earlier this month. Requested an upper floor room, away from the street, and that's exactly what we got. You can see my photos to get an idea of what was in the room. In short, it was quite nice. Some of the things I liked: Plenty of lights in every room, and smartly done (lots of 3-way switches). Decent amount of storage. Carpeting and LVT flooring seems relatively new and clean. Pillows and linens were fine. A lot of Kleenex boxes (good quality, not cheap motel stuff -- paper towels also good). Wired internet connection available in addition to WiFi (need your own cable). Good selection of kitchen needs (dishes, glassware, utensils, pots & pans, etc). A couple of things that could have been improved: The bed was a bit soft / dipped in the middle. There was a bright light outside the bedroom window all night, and the window covering didn't fully block it (especially at the bottom). So, not possible to fully darken the room. Stayed here the last time we visited Brookings. And most likely we'll stay here again during our next visit, too. read more

Ocean Suites gave us a perfect stay on a cold, wet night in January. My daughter and I needed a 1-night stopover on our drive back to Willamette U, and we're so happy we picked this lovely motel. From the moment we booked our reservation to the moment we turned in our room keys, every member of the staff made us feel welcome, important, and cared for. Katie took our reservation, Kurt checked us in, and their boss ensured our room was warm and ready for us. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful! The motel is very nice, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully appointed. The suite was spacious, the beds super comfy, and there were flatscreens with Roku in both rooms. It had a good-sized bathroom with shower tub and excellent lighting at the mirror. We made our breakfast in the well-equipped kitchenette after a very restful night's sleep. This small motel of suites is a true gem. We stayed here over night for work and I wish we booked additional nights. The front desk ladies were fantastic and friendly. The room was immaculate and smelled clean. The furniture was up to date and comfortable. Honestly, my fiance and I had a great evening enjoying a few glasses of wine and a pizza from the local spot. Don't even bother with the bigger places...they're a whole 300 feet closer to water and nowhere near as homey and nice. I've tried several. My family stayed here in August and it was a very pleasant beautiful place. Kurt was so helpful and inviting. He spent time on the phone with me before we decided where to stay on our trip, and he was extremely helpful. The room we stayed in was great, and very clean. We could see the boat yard and harbor from our window. The kitchen and dishes were clean and nice. They definitely take good care of the rooms, it was a great place to sleep and my daughter loved it too. It was like having a little home/ apartment while we vacationed. We stayed in room 214 for two nights April 2nd and 3rd 2024. We got a courtesy call to let us know how room was read early which I felt was great customer service and made us feel very welcomed. When we arrived the check in was very quick and easy. Now for the room.....it was amazing !! It was basically a one bedroom apartment. You everything you need for the kitchenette you would need to cook and eat. The room was spotless clean! The bed was comfy, new carpet, and new pergo flooring. We could've stayed forever. You also get to use their Netflix account on top of the local cable channels too. Thank you for a great relaxing stay !!! read more

The price was ok but so far the room has been very humid and it smells a little like mold. All of the doors to the rooms are sliding doors that don't close all the way and they don't lock. There was also dirt on the chair in the room. But overall it isn't that bad for the price compared to other hotels/motels read more

I loved everything about Ocean Suites Motel! The people are lovely! Kurt was my first impression the the place when I called to see if they had rooms available. He was very kind, funny and made me feel very welcome! Everyone else is also amazing, Susy, Stacey, and Katie - everyone made me feel very welcome. Especially since I got to stay longer than anticipated due to the winter storm that hit! Craziness! I'm so glad I was there to ride it out. The rooms are VERY clean and comfortable. They all have a kitchenette and sofa along with a seperate bedroom. Very comfortable for probably up to 3-4 people if you are close! :) I was very happy with my stay there and will definitely be back!! read more

Super clean old-fashioned motel with lovely new carpet (otherwise not obviously updated) and the most friendly, helpful staff ever. Thin walls but their no noise after 10pm policy helps. Full kitchen and very comfortable Queen bed. The bath water was not hot enough, and the TVs were smaller than average and set very high, but the price per night is low. One nice thing about motels like this is the fresh air from the open windows. There was a distant low very quiet clanging sound (maybe fog-related? Possibly from the ocean?) but it did not disturb us enough to want to close the windows. read more

We're glad we stayed there. The little kitchen was very well stocked. Their Wi-Fi worked fine. It's a short walk to the crab boat if they're in season. A little farther and you're at one of the better restaurants in Brookings. 10 miles down 101 and you're in California and cheap booze. read more

This place is way past due for an update just look at the photo's no to mention the location you're stuck in a gorge with little to no sun. The deal that we got on this place was great. We got a one bedroom suite with two queen sized beds, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room. The suite had two tv sets, one in each room. It also came with a fridge, stove/ oven, free wifi, and a microwave. At the front office they had free DVDs to check out. Out of all of the places that I have stayed at, this was one of the most homely and enjoyable that I have stayed at. This is a high value single bedroom suite motel that offers a couple configurations. One is a queen in the bedroom and a queen hidaway out in the main a re a and the other is both areas have regular queen beds. Both bedrooms have flats creek TV'S and NetFlix. The usual stuff is there but it also has a full kitchen so if you stay a few days or longer, you can cook or heat meals in your room. A family of 4 could easily stay here....for 89.00 per night with AAA discount....what a value. No its not new or super stylish but it is $60.00 cheaper per night than the next closest motel/hotel. After coming to Brookings on several occasions and staying at different hotels and Airbnb is this is by far the best place we have ever stayed! The accommodations were spotless, quiet, and the staff totally helpful. The best part was we had a full kitchen with oven and stove! We were able to cook our breakfast and there was everything here we needed including a full size fridge and freezer! Moving forward this will be the only Place we ever stay in Brookings when we come to visit our daughter and her family. read more

Appreciated the staff weaning masks and taking COVID precautions. Room was clean and felt safe during our night there. A few positives of the Ocean Suites was having Netflix available on the TV's and having access to a kitchen. The place also contained adequate cooking pots/pans/utensils. To begin with, the pictures posted truely had me concerned. They are very dated looking and I saw patterns in the bedspread which is a no no in my book. I fear patterns and old looking furniture in hotels/motels. WHAT A SUPRISE, this place was great! HUGE room that was the size of a small apartment. It had everything you could need in the kitchen right down to paper towels. Smelled and felt CLEAN! I was checked in by a very friendly gal who was getting ready to close for the nite and she was still so nice to us. We were just across the street from the ocean and in a very safe comfy feeling area of Brookings. Bathroom seemed to be updated and was also VERY clean...THANK YOU!!
