We stopped in for a fantastic lunch on a Saturday afternoon: Rueben sandwich for me and a vegetarian Panini for my better half. The decor was very authentic early 20th century lodge style. We had been aware of the Patrick Creek Lodge and it's significance in the development of the Redwood Highway for some time, but this was the first time we visited, we'll won't simply drive by so often in the future. My understanding is that the restaurant is only open on weekends, but they have regular live music on Saturday evenings. A very unique property!

Amazing new owners. Very welcoming and dog friendly unlike the previous owners. It feels like going back in time when you visit here. It is nestled along a stunning river, breath taking forests and they make amazing cocktails!! Add this to a must stop when in the area.

Great place with a ton of history! The new owners have put a ton of money and effort into reviving the old "feel." Definitely worth at least a night and brunch. Ask them about the haunted room, I've been spooked by it since I was a young child haha.

Obviously when you see the Majestree, everything else pales in comparison, which is their best property onsite, and the Pleasantree looked a bit small n not so spacious but it is what it is. Majestree is so spacious n luxurious. The view here is so gorgeous especially in spring. The staff are so amazing including ziplining staff - ziplining is expensive here compared to other places but the experience was simply amazing with their Big Dipper. One of their key highlights is their amazing spread of breakfast - the best I've ever had at a bed n breakfast. One of their chefs is a young girl Eden who is so skilled and talented and even willingly shared her recipe for lavender cake when I told her how awesome it was. All the staff are really friendly. In fact they kindly agreed to refund 80% of our ziplining fee when one of their coins kids were scared after the practice ziplining abd refused to continue. No one would do that. Some of us did horse riding, and they loved it as well. Would love to return sometime! My husband n I came back here after 13 years and none of our friends were disappointed.

We couldn't have asked for better hosts! Due to Covid we couldn't gather for breakfast but they were happy to leave fresh coffee, scones (sooooooo good!), and prepared eggs from their chickens. This room also had a VERY big nice TV - much larger TV than in the other rooms! This was our first time to Crescent City and of course we wondered if the fog horn would be a problem (especially given the "warning" on the hotel website). It wasn't an issue for us - but we didn't sleep with the door to the balcony open or anything. You can definitely hear it... but it's not super loud and/or overbearing... when I think "foghorn" I usually think about the super loud blaster that they use at 49er games or something, but this wasn't that at all - not even close! The TV was a little bit of a challenge to figure out, but we figured it out eventually. I can't say that I was crazy about the bathroom layout... with the sink part being in the main room, but the upside to that is there was a LOT of counter space, much more than would have been available otherwise. After a little reflection, I realized there really wasn't a better way to lay things out. I just had to get used to it... and now, I wouldn't hesitate to get the same room again.

Ryan at the front desk indicated that while he technically could modify our reservation, we'd have to go through Expedia since we booked with them - sure, not a problem. I talk to an Expedia agent who says yep, we should be able to modify the reservation. They call the Oceanview Inn, speak with Ryan, who says nope, no can do. When I went back to the lobby (still on the night of check-in) to ask Ryan what happened, he became confrontational. The staff here are unwilling to help their guests or make even minor modifications to reservations, even for services that have not and will not be rendered. Location: Convenient location close to the beach, highway, and Redwood National Park. Other than the national park there is very little to do in Crescent City. Not many good restaurant options. Room: Antiquated. Hasn't been updated in 25 years, uncomfortable bed. The upgraded room we reserved was quite large, however, the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors all night. Also, the fog horn blows every 8 seconds. Walking to & from the room we noticed the hallways smell like strongly of urine.

They have really fixed the place up since we were there. They have added a wonderful porch that has a hot tub overlooking the river. (The river has even moved since then and is now right below the deck.) It's a great place to watch the seals, blue herons, egrets, osprey, and the sunrise over the distant hills. There is a wooden fence between each patio, so you have some privacy. Inside has been carefully remodeled to keep a cabin feel, but also give a touch of elegance. The woodwork and decor are both very nice and give the room a very cozy feeling, along with the nice gas fireplace in the livingroom area. The kitchen is simple, with a fridge and microwave, but no stove. There are a few plates, bowls, wine glasses, utensils, etc along with a small coffee pot, but the coffee given to use is just a tea bag coffee thing, so I'd recommend bringing your own.
