This is an old and dated hotel. The upholstery on a chair in the very outdated room was worn through. There were a very old flowered bedspread and a velour blanket of dubious cleanliness on the lumpy bed. The carpeting was worn and not clean. It cost $177 for 1 night. The whole place was very dated. Not sure how they had an 8.1 rating on the hotel booking site. Bedspreads were faded and dingy, and they had brown blankets on the beds. Brown. Gross. Upholstered chairs in the room were worn and had holes. The toilets barely flushed, maybe because they were so old. The AC didn't work, and they do not have maintenance on site, so they gave us a loud box fan to put in the window for the night. They offered to move us for the second night, not the first because they were sold out. By the time the 2nd evening came, I was over it and opted to book a nicer hotel up the road. They then refused to give us even a partial refund. They left a young girl at the front desk who couldn't offer any help other than, "I'll have to call my boss." We requested that her boss call us, and that never happened either. Update & response to site management response: We clearly did need the AC, it is often muggy / humid on the coast. Leaving the window open all night with the noisy fan in it, left the room very humid and muggy in the morning. Not to mention noise from the Best Western next door, and the view of their garbage area. And having staff tell us that they can't make a decision, but have to call their boss is not supportive. Neither is not calling us when we requested a phone call to discuss further. "Not fancy" is one way to put it. Dated and dusty / dingy is another way. It's semantics. read more

Stopped here on our way through town. The room was spacious and the ocean view was a lovely surprise! We were happy to find that there was laundry available, although it closes at 8:00 PM so we didn't have enough time to use it. Everything was clean and in good working order. The front desk clerks were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast options were good, although there's very minimal seating, so we had to carry everything back to the room. My only critique was that our room had the most ancient, threadbare, faded bedspreads I'd ever seen -- which is actually kinda good, because you know they're getting regularly washed -- but updating those would be a plus. Location is convenient but because of the road right in front of the hotel it is VERY noisy at night. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, the pillows need to be replaced. LOVED the shampoo and body gel! Wonderful oak smell which made great lather. Breakfast was quite minimalistic. Bagels, english muffins, toast or oatmeal/ cereal. Some mandarines, some apples. End of story. Nice coffee machine though. The Inn served its purpose for a night but could use some renovations/ upgrading. Looks quite dated overall. read more

Okay, everyone needs to calm the 'f' down... Like, both sides are being a bit over dramatic... I totally live in Los Angeles, but haven't seen this kind of drama since the first and coincidentally, last time I saw a Kartrashian episode 25 years ago... So I'm here to let everyone know that the Lighthouse Inn, is neither good nor bad... Backstory: Stayed at the Motel 6 on my way to Oregon on a road trip; and stayed at the Lighthouse Inn, on my way back... Motel 6 was 'newer', but the TV didn't work and there was no microwave oven or fridge, where the Lighthouse Inn had all of those things, so the Lighthouse Inn wins hands down... Yes... Some rooms come with a view... But, I'm supposing that really depends on what time you check in... I got lucky because my stay was on a Tuesday night, so 'YAY me'... The room features a combination 'behbathroom' for lack of a better word, and yes, it looks like it hasn't been updated since '95... But hey... It's clean, so once again, 'YAY me'... Bottom line is this... If you're looking for an updated hotel, then do urself a favor and spend the extra 30 bucks and stay at the Best Western, so you don't find yourself crying like a baby manchild... But if you're rolling into town at 10PM or so, and you're looking for a cheapish room with a hot shower and a microwave oven capable of heating up the piece of German chocolate cake that I bought from the 24 hour Safeway, down the street??? Then I would spend the extra 5 to 10 bucks to stay here instead of the Motel 6.... You're Welcome... p.s. We stayed 3/26/25 in the family suite. The front desk lady was SO nice and friendly! all smiles and gave us a good restaurant recommendation. She was actually the best part of the stay. Our rooms floor hadnt been vacuumed so I borrowed theirs and did it myself. the desk clerk offered but she had a family in line to check In and I didn't mind doing it at all. Other than that the room was clean, the toiletries provided were appreciated. The king bed in the bedroom was kinda terrible, I hate to say. The sheets were rough and the bed hard and lumpy. My son said his sheets were scratchy so he used a blanket we had brought with us. Breakfast was simple but had quality options like English muffins, bagels, fruit and cereal. My daughter was impressed that Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds was an option. The only thing that was a bit off putting was one of the workers was going outside every few minutes to her car (it was a newer little white Ford, taking the first parking spot next to the door which should be saved for patrons IMO) and smoking. I'm here in January, the low tourist season and maybe that's why the hotel prices are relatively cheap right now (less than $50!). So it's a great value now. The rooms are big and come with a full sink and cabinet, microwave, coffee, and fridge. King bed is comfortable and blankets are cozy. AC/Heat works great. Breakfast is outstanding as I expected a very sparse setting. But bagels with a toaster with butter and cream cheese, yum! Coffee, milk, tea, cider. All sorts of cereals and fruit. Crossing over the S. Oregon/N. California border, Crescent City is one of the first cities you hit. Not huge, but pretty well spread out, with all the typical roadside chains, and a few interesting local spots. We were only here for a quick overnight stopover, but I'm glad we chose to stay at the Lighthouse Inn over some of the usual hotel/motel chains... This comfortable, reasonably priced, non-chain inn/motel, with a lobby decorated with tons of frilly, over the top knick-knacks (mixed in with a smatter of coastal décor) like your granny's PARLOUR, has CHARACTER!! I think we were upgraded to a King-sized room, which was HUGE!! It included two reclining easy chairs and the most MASSIVE hotel sink/vanity I think I've ever seen!! Clean, quiet, comfy room, the bed was great, and bathroom/shower was wonderful. No complaints. There IS a warning in the lobby to be sure not to leave any valuables visible in your car, as there have been break-ins... Unfortunately, that just makes sense, wherever you are... We left early and didn't partake in the free breakfast, but it seemed perfectly acceptable (free is GOOD!!) Stayed one night here, just spending weekend on coast. Older hotel, was very clean! Easy to get in and out on 101. Close to a couple places to eat and just far enough on the edge of town that you aren't really stuck in busy traffic of downtown. Room on second floor was bigger than I expected, ac worked fantastic, shower pressure was great and the hot water was HOT! FYI, The room coffee was your typical packets, powered cream and no sweeteners. Would stay here again. read more

Great location on US101. Situated between several other hotels and restaurants. Check in was quick and easy. Parking in the back is highly recommend. Rooms are larger than an average hotel which is always appreciated, but it's not like you can do much with the extra square footage. Bathroom was bright, but the toilet seats are cheap round seats rather than ergonomic oval seats. Sink is located in the sleeping area which was interesting. If you go to sleep at different times and need to brush your teeth it can get hard. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable and really the biggest drawback to this hotel. After laying down for a short period of time the bed can start to wreck havoc on your back. Continental breakfast is still being advertised, but is not being served due to covid-19. Wish they had a disclaimer stating the breakfast is on hold. read more

The rooms were big but sloppily put together and not maintained. Very big bathtub with water jets but the jets were broken. The curtains were cheaply taped up and the towels weren't all clean. They just need to do maintenance and be more careful with he rooms. Also should get a decorator to rearrange the furniture to make better use of the space. read more

Where are the good reviews coming from? Paid friends? This is nothing like the place is described. I was so disappointed. Where do I start? Here is where to start: It sucks and the people who work there don't care about anything and they have attitude like goth crazy. First thing as I was checking in, they told me to make sure all items were out of my vehicle. The folks waiting to check in after me looked as alarmed as I was. I asked if it was that bad. The lady nodded and shrugged her shoulders and said, "Yes." When I tried to make coffee, there was no sugar. I went down to the desk to get some. They said sugar is not kept in the rooms because of ants. What? My fireplace was so loud that I couldn't keep it on and watch TV at the same time. The bottom of the tub (see picture) was full of so many scratches that I didn't feel it was safe to soak in. No one cleans the coffee pot (see picture). It's musty. The noise from 101 is what you hear, not waves. Other hotels are right on the water, but this one is across 101 and far away. There are no screens on the windows if you want to open them. The torn-up chair that greets you (see picture) off the elevator must be there for a reason other than that no one cares what the place looks like. Another person here posted a picture of it and it's still there, which I did find amusing. I asked about food delivery and the desk lady told me that Pizza Hut won't deliver there because they can't find them for some reason. Well it's lined up with a bunch of other hotels, so it makes me wonder why Pizza Hut won't deliver there. She then told me there's a woman to look up online who will take you places since there isn't really a taxi service. I said I wanted room delivery, not to get in a taxi, because I have a vehicle. This was very weird. The breakfast is "meh" and the boiled eggs are served in someone's tupperware container, the bagels are served still in the store bags, so you have to dig them out. In other words, food is not "put out" like other hotels do. The lobby was all roped off with yellow tape. I asked what happened and they said "Oh the tile...mumble mumble...flakes... mumble." The bed is very springy. The sheets wouldn't stay on either. The curtain was stained with brown spots and the carpet was shredding down the middle of the room. I did think about leaving, but I stayed a 2nd night because I was so exhausted from the day. I slept on the couch. This place is musty and smells funny. It's very dated, but that is not the problem. I don't mind dated. Cleanliness is the problem. (along with staff who cares) It's not a short walk to anything, like some folks here claim, along with rave reviews of the place and the staff, so that's why I am suspicious about who is rating this. Yelp says the hotel itself cannot, so I'm guessing it's slipping by another way. This place is ratty. Please know this as you are reading reviews. read more

It was probably one of the better options surrounded by not great options. Not worth the price though, I would probably camp if I had the option. Pros: bed, cable, internet, no bed bugs, third floor still had great shower pressure. Cons: bedspread older than my mother, dizzying patterns, breakfast is a few bags of bread and bagels with still-frozen juice. The decor is interesting, to put it nicely. This hotel gets 1 star.... only because I can't give it less. Never in my life have I slept on a worse bed. Quite frankly I didn't know beds this bad even existed. My wife and I are in absolute agony. So, if you want to stay here, swing by the Walmart and grab you an air Matress. I got one and set it on top of the bed just so I could sleep and be able to walk the following day. You should also book an appointment with a chiropractor and a pain management specialist so you can get narcotic level pain meds to manage the pain you will experience after sleeping on this bed the first night before getting the air Matress. It literally has nearly ruined our trip to the redwoods. Breakfast was cancelled due to Covid..... expected I suppose, but I wish it was noted at the time of the booking. The hotel does not have extra pillows or blankets either. Everything else at the hotel was as expected for the $120 you spend, but the bed is inexcusable. It is not possible that management doesn't know how bad these beds are. Never.... ever...... again. read more

Overall, the stay was nice. Close to restaurants and things to do. Thirty minutes away from Oregon. Will return and even though I found out after the fact, they do honor military with a discount. My husband and I spent a night at this property for our road trip to the Redwood State Park. We booked the room the same day and booked their last room. I figured it must be a popular place base on their location and price. As soon as I walked into the Lobby, the smell of staleness and rushed to my nose. The Lobby is spacious but feel empty. The reception is pleasant while the check in interaction was quick. Then walked into our room which is pretty spacious but didn't; have the feel of freshness. I like the spacious sink with lots of counter space, having a microwave in the room is convenient but the coffee pot didn't look clean. I was afraid to even brew a cup of hot water. The bed has good firmness: however, I don't like 1) the comforter is essentially a blanket without open sheets cover top and below so I can see and touch the dark blue fleece blanket. My 6th sense tells me the blanket was not changed and washed at every checkout....it is a pretty gross feeling. 2) Personally I do not like dark color floral bed cover and carpet. Basically any dirts are hidden easily and 3) the bed end table is only on one side so I can't put my glassed, watch, phone and water next to me except that I have to put them on the floor. With all that said, I must say the bathroom does deserve at least 4 stars! Bath tub, curtain, floor, tile wall are streaking clean. Shower pressure is excellent and the bath towels are soft and plush. One last comment about the breakfast: the only item I enjoy having is the banana as they are fresh and rest of them are so so. But it is free so I shouldn't complain much. read more

There was a breakfast advertised but because of COViD they cancelled it altogether. Other hotels at least provide a grab and go sort of breakfast but lighthouse basically just blocks off the breakfast area and has absolved themselves of providing any breakfast. Updated review. This was my second stay and will be my last. We booked a two room suite. Only one room had working AC. In the other room, the cord for the AC does not reach the outlet. Obviously this is a known issue. The hotel ignored it. They would not switch us to another room or even loan out an extension cord. No accommodations at all. This was a ground floor room with the parking lot right outside, so leaving the windows open was not a viable option. This made for a pretty miserable night, with us all crammed into one room instead of the two we paid for. Then the toilet stopped working, and there was no response to that either. I would not trust this property with a future booking. My relative who did the booking spoke with two staff members and asked them to pass on our experience to management. She also replied to a satisfaction survey. Our stay was a week ago and there has been no attempt at amends. A refund would be appropriate but they didn't even offer a token discount. Room was very outdated and the bedding had a long piece of black hair on the pillowcase... Also the check in staff were NOT wearing masks. It was posted online that this hotel was following special precautions for Covid 19, but clearly not. They have a clear separating plastic sheet on the counter, that's it. I saw two check in staff on two separate days both not wearing masks the entire day. Disappointing to see, I'm a nurse and I wear TWO masks at work for 12.5 hour shifts for the safety of my patients and coworkers (despite all of us staff being vaccinated). Though the building and surroundings are outdated the lobby and the rooms really lean into the it's old whatever grandma aesthetic. I respect it and it's trying its best, but I can understand others being turned off by it. The front desk and lobby area is quaint and clean and service was kind and accommodating. The room we were in was the 3 queen suite. It was an odd assortment with one bed facing the other two beds and out of sight of the TV. The decor was the same "old" antiquated aesthetic. The mattresses were not great and may have been way past their prime. The labels said '02. Typically mattresses last 8 years. The comforter was missing it's tag, and was certainly old. I did not sleep well on these beds. Though I wouldn't recommend it, we got a room with 3 beds for like $115 a night. We got exactly what we paid for and nothing more. read more

I booked this hotel from the reviews on Yelp, but I probably should have gone with Best Western Plus just down the road. When I booked it I asked for a room with a view if possible as it was a special occasion, and was told in an email that the hotel had heard my request and could provide this with no extra charge. When we arrived we were told that they could not oblige and that this was from Booking.Com, not them. So we had a view of the back parking lot. Then I asked if we could get a late check out until noon (normal is 11) and I was told no, they were completely booked the next night. Well even if you are booked for the next night, which will be a Tuesday, housekeeping cannot clean all of the rooms at once! Decor in the lobby is very eclectic. Old 80s border wallpaper in the lobby and the rooms. Some pictures that should be in thrift shops mixed with some great lighthouse pictures. They could really make it great with all the West coast lighthouse pictures. The mattresses are old, not pillowtop. My back told me in the morning that I was older than I usually feel! The sink is in the bedroom, not the bathroom. It was also very slow draining. Basic cheap shampoo/conditioner combos, bring your own. Breakfast was very basic. Bagels, bread, English muffins. Cold cereal, oatmeal packets, browning bananas and apples, hard boiled eggs. Orange and apple juice and coffee. If we hadn't stayed at the Best Western Plus in Lincoln City the night before, we wouldn't have had a room for the same price to compare as much. We paid about $130 for a Monday night. I have been here several times. This will be my last night here. I thought this place was safe. It is not. I asked someone on the elevator to put on a mask. The person refused and started to get belligerent about it. The staff came to the defense of the plague spreader who proudly proclaimed he already had the virus. The other issues are all observed in the bathrooms. One night I observed mouse feces in my bathroom. Another stay some brown substance drips dried to the bathroom door frame. I thought this place was good. I am proven incorrect over time. Ill find somewhere else to stay. read more

Stayed here 3 nights with young granddaughters. All was good, room was spacious, everything was very clean, we experienced quiet at night and most days when in our room. Front desk staff were efficient, friendly, helpful. The highway is very quiet throughout the night; I heard no traffic in our front facing room. All of the restaurants across the street are good and some are incredible. The beauty of Crescent City is unreal. Would definitely stay again! read more
